Yeah you are so right. Seeing this performance had me so confused. I thought he was lip-synching and faking playing the guitar. I googled and read about his loop pedal and I was immediately blown away. I've never seen it before and it was so frigging cool to see him essentially building the song as he was playing it. Since then, I've been addicted! This is the performance that converted me and I come back and watch it a few times a week because it's just so Damn good! I don't know how anyone could not be a fan after seeing this. It's perfection!

I always feel like he's not performing for other people, he's doing it for himself, lost in his own world, and we just happen to be witnessing it. Once in a generation talent.
