Happy surgery went well. I have the same stigma with pain meds, to the point where I tried to take oxy when I got my wisdom teeth removed and violently threw them up every time so I just roughed it. Speedy recovery. We need more episodes of Rahul's unboxing/getting upstaged by a dog and Jon.

I once helped take care of someone recovering from a big surgery who was prescribed Oxycodone. She hated it, took as little as possible. The airheadedness you describe sounds very familiar. And opioids can really slow down your guts, wish they'd made that more clear to us. Bananas (potassium) bad, apples (fiber) good. ***Edit: Or maybe potassium is good, I had a lot of conflicting information during that recovery and I am not a doctor. Nobody take advice from me. You rock for documenting this, hope it works.
@@Grifter010 Good question, perhaps I shouldn't make that claim. For the first few weeks of recovery we had a nurse visiting us every few days to monitor some things. The patient didn't have much of an appetite for most foods, but did for bananas spread over toast. When they found out what the patient was choosing to eat, they told us to stop immediately and that it was likely only adding to the constipation caused by Oxycodone. Things did get better after we removed bananas from the equation, but I never had a real explanation for why that was the case. I believe magnesium was recommended, but this was a long time ago, details are fuzzy. Ordinarily I would think you're right about potassium.
@@Mr.deacle My kids eat a Banana and I can schedule wheb they gonna poop. It's like safe exlax. But on another note, the best thing I found to do when I had a metal rod IM Nail, hammered in my tib/fib after I got into a fight with a maple tree, limb under tension after cutting down and I missed it and when my chainsaw just touched limb it broke and whacked my shin like a sledge hammer. Logging is very dangerous. When you use a paper product of any kind or anything made from, with trees Please thank a logger, not tge assholes who go in and mow down a forest, but tge ones like me who select cut old Timber so new can grow. Anywho I was on pain meds for a couple months and I got so stopped up it wasn't funny. Wife's a nurse and gave me some sena cot natural laxitive and I'd take a table spoon of mineral oil and that worked very well. Nothing worse than trying to heal up and then have a plugged colon with a piece of firewood in there dry as the Sahara crying tears of pain trying to pass it. Water is key. Gallon a day if you can drink that or most of it. Idk how ppl never drink water. Ppl ask me why you drink so much water? Well I'm a Marine who had to drink a canteen every night in Bootcamp, drank more before morning PT and worked outside my whole life in heat and cold. So I drink ALOT of water. Idk how they just drink pop all day and night. If my pees not clear I drink water. That helps so much with bowel movements and after all that meds it's great to make it a habit. Happy pooping. Another thing, get in the best squat position. Get knees up. That opens the anus and makes pooping less work. I laughed at the squatty potty. Until I tried it. Just like the bidet. Ok enough pooping crap. PS I was jumped in 05 and had my face slammed into A pillar on car with door open then fell back cracking my skull on pavement. I was in bad shape. Didn't have insurance so I toughed it out. I've had bad bad headaches since about 5 or more a month then tapered to 1 a month. So bad a pillow hurts to lay on it. No light, ear plugs, sitting up with a frozen juice can on neck. I feel ya. I hope you feel better. Ppl who don't have these pains have no idea. Just a lil head ache. No. Feels like Satan is trying to use nerves as spaghetti, while my skull in a vice being tightened. Terrible.

I'm having a weird reaction to winter this year which is giving massive swelling around my eyes, surprisingly similar to what you described here. It's such a weird discomfort and pain. When just looking and blinking makes pain, bleh. This is such a fun video though, again, thanks for sharing. Pupper and paints definitely makes for good distractions.
Necromunda I recall playing this when the first edition released - like 28 years ago or so in the UK - It was really cool back then, and I am so grateful to see that in the video game age table top physical gaming is still a thing. I found the PS1, and moved on purely because a fellow warhammer player introduced me to Resident Evil 1, on his shiny new PS1. Even funnier - your boyfriend was a legend in IZombie - so good to see him doing well all these years later.

Hi Alanah... as someone that used to work in pharmacy, taking those opioids only AS NEEDED is totally the way to go... too many times did I see individuals take them strictly on a time table that they became easily addicted and then they were on them for years.
The Jaws Board Game! It's great. You can tell the people who made it loved the movie and they've done a really good job working elements from the movie into the game mechanics.

Really relate to your feelings on painkillers, for me they make me incredibly nauseous. Doesn't matter which painkillers, they all make me wish I was in pain instead. Glad to hear the surgery went well! Hope it helps with the migraines.
I also had head surgery to deal with my headaches. That was a rough recovery. I had to stop taking the pain killers they gave me because they made me feel worse. My body just rejected them. I very much know what you are going through and hope the surgery was worth it in the end.
Wow that's crazy Alanah. I had a brain surgery to get rid of migraines as well. They had to remove a colloidal cyst in the 3rd ventricle of my brain. Was scared at first but I felt alot better after it was done. Hope you recover quickly and get back to making awesome content! All the love! ❤✌️
So glad to hear that your recovering well from surgery. I can totally relate to your dislike of Codein based painkillers. The only time I've voluntarily taken Codein was when I tore an intercostal muscle. I hate it, it makes me feel dislocated in time and not fully real. Just awful, I realise it must work differently in other people because a lot of people have a hard time getting off it. Hope you continue to heal well and the migraines are gone for good.

I can't believe there was such surgery available for this sitution I thought I must li ve with it for the rest of my life but then again I can't afford so I do have to live with it till one day I do have enough money to spare for my health. One insane thing I had this since I was 8 which was in 2007 and it got worse around the time it happend to you 2015-16, mad. Also I wanna thank you so much that you shared this with your fans because the amount of times people think I overexaggerate about it and give me the normal headache soultion, I am like bro I was suffering for 17 hours (which was the longest time I had it and thought I was going to die) its no normal. So thank you for sharing your story at least I can show them that there are people out there with same problem.

Hopefully the recovery continues to go well. I've never really been too drawn to miniatures or figures (probably good for my wallet), but blu-rays are probably my one "vice", so I'm envious of Rahul's 'Godfather' boxset. My most recent blu-ray purchase was the 'remaster' of the Extended 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, looking forward to watching 'Fellowship' without the weird green colour grading of the 2011 BD release. I generally try not to double-dip, but given I got the original boxset 11 years ago, I think I can allow it. Especially as I got it for about 35% off the usual UK price.

I've never really been too drawn to miniatures or figures (probably good for my wallet), but blu-rays are probably my one "vice", so I'm envious of Rahul's 'Godfather' boxset. My most recent blu-ray purchase was the 'remaster' of the Extended 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy, looking forward to watching 'Fellowship' without the weird green colour grading of the 2011 BD release. I generally try not to double-dip, but given I got the original boxset 11 years ago, I think I can allow it. Especially as I got it for about 35% off the usual UK price.
