Wow! This is the best that I've ever heard them sound. Cedric sounds particularly on point.
Night 2 actually sounds better believe it or not! There's a little more jamming going on in night 2 also.

I'm literally crying now, I didn't know they got back together. Ever since I listened to Mars Volta, I stopped listening to every other music. Then I grew old, I stopped listening to music altogether, now I listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
I always envy fans of other bands/musicians who still get to go to their concerts and still get fresh new HD videos. I know I will never get new Mars Volta material, with how they broke up and a lot of their members are no longer together.
Wow I cannot believe this. Listening to L'Via now, took me back when I was young. Dearly missed Ikey, Juan. Wish Theodore/Pridgen/Parks could join too. But still, this is wonderful.
They also released a new self titled album back in September!
Glad you enjoy the video! The tour was great. This is from night 1. There's very little jams. As the tour progressed the jams got longer. Hopefully once the holiday season is over I can get back to putting some more shows together.
Hey man, you sound like your still pretty passionate about their music. I too started listening to TMV back in the day after At the Drive-In broke up. I also got into Sparta and literally listened to nothing else as well. Don't give up on loving and listening to music just yet, brother! We need more people like you with good taste..lol!
Their music lives on, lots of great bands today.
Never stop listening to music. I can 1000% guarantee a podcast can never come close to what transcendental music can do for you
I get it. Honestly, nothing can touch those first 3 Mars Volta albums. That being said, there is still great music out there. I highly recommend an album called “Ants From Up There” by Black Country New Road. Its not energetic like TMV, but it’s passionate, inspired, blends many different styles, and has great musicianship.
These two Dallas shows (especially the first) were f'n magical. Thank you for putting this together! You can't capture the energy in a video, but this brought back all the feels...🖤😭🖤
Night 2 is up on our page as well. The audio quality is a little better in that one.

I'm so damn happy I was able to see them for this show after over a decade! They were on point the whole set and this was the best Cedric's voice ever was live in my experience. Thanks for uploading this so I can relive this again

Had tix for Sat show, then found Porcupine Tree was playing that night, so sold our TMV tix and bought VIP for this show................... and saw Roxy Music the night before! Perfect Trifecta!! Feel very fortunate! .......... then saw TMV & Thundercat open for Chili Peppers. What a Great Run :)

Cedric was terrible on their 2013 tour. Compare his singing on The Widow's chorus to their last 2013 performance. He's killing it now !

It's funny. Most the time a band is dieing to play their new material and the fan is dieing for them to play old stuff. Here I find myself with the tables completely turned... Where's the new stuff!!!???
10 year hiatus. I think they felt like the best thing to do was a fan service tour similar to the first ATDI reunion.
I would bet that the 2023 tour is going to be heavy on new & unreleased material.

Ita so hard for me to pay attention to this band without Thomas. I feel Thomas brings alot to the table the rest dudes don't! That said, this was brilliant in all ways.

It was definitely "Volta". They teased like they were going to play an encore and we stayed for what now seems like an eternity before they finally turned the house lights on. I really hope that moment gets released if they end up making something with all of the footage from the 2022 tour.

People threw Simi's on stage all throughout the tour! There was a Frances The Mute Simi thrown onstage I think in Detroit and they kept in on the bass amp through the rest of the tour.
