In Asia especially, Even far before the pandemic, people wear face masks if they are ill to avoid giving it to others. Or in some countries because of pollution they wear them but basically its just to be polite

Waistband straps are a BIG help for long wearing. If you are hiking or walking long distances getting a backpack properly setup on your shoulders and hips is very important for comfortable wear and not straining your back.
Tenba Axis. No orange (blue instead!), removable waist belt, tacti-cool vibe, rear AND side entry. My current favorite for sure.

I find that every time you replace a camera bag you are just reorganizing the same stuff you carry anyway. It’s like changing the furniture around in your office and then you feel all happy about it for about a week. Buy a bag wear it out then replace it. Mine is 20 years old and been through hell but still works great. Thanks for sharing the update on your bag it seems like it’s gonna work well for you. Great vid

I actually like the waist straps. I position the straps lower so that I carry the weight of the bag with my legs rather than my shoulders.
What I'd really like as a developing photographer/Videographer is a backpack that has a bit of camera organization stuff in it, but then also room for my laptop, some books, and all the normal stuff I carry everyday to work. Some sort of hybrid camera/everyday backpack. Then I can always have at least my basic gear with me.

I have two bags: one big one for most everything and a small bag we call the Action bag which just has essentials for our run & gun setup. We film super fast and efficient so speed is necessary.
The Somethin' Or Other Tour I’m the same. I do a lot of Motorsport photography and I’m literally carrying a Canon 6D Mark ii and a Canon 7D or 5D as a second shooter. I’m running around a race track, having to be in 5 different places at once. I have one bag with lenses in it, you’d be surprised how many I need. And another bag with the other equipment I need. Luckily there’s usually two photographers, me included. Unfortunately for us we’re usually carrying about 15kgs of equipment each.
I've had this camera bag for going on 2+ years. It's carried everything I need for low-key weddings, shoots, it straps my skateboard, it's been in the winters of the north to the rainforest to the desert, and been used as a full solo backpack trip. For a few days I hiked into the woods, strapped my bear can and tent to it, hiked 10 miles to the woods of yosemite.... and if I handed you my bag you'd say it only has a month of typical use. This bag WON'T die. My stuff is safe as can be, water tight, and there's a whistle in case you get stuck in an avalanche [or the woods I guess].
Peak design camera bags. Expensive, but worth it. Lifetime warranty, and everything is so well thought out. They are a startup out of SF. I have the everyday messenger bag I love it, but you might like there backpack. There is like 30 minutes of video of these guys explaining all the features. I'm in love with this bag hahaa, had to throw a comment your way Peter.

Don't know how I found you, I've made my own little festival gopro vids which i enjoyed making but now i am binge watching your videos and want to do so much more, amazing content and production on all you do, big fan. Even though you are now costing me a fortune to be better lol
I recently switched to a street camera bag which has a top compartment which I can fit a coat and some food and then a regular camera bag compartments below which I can fit a couple lenses and two body’s below. It also looks like a regular bag which is more stylish and people are less likely to steel it!

Every time I see one of these videos I'm like "oooooooooh, so I'm gonna' be broke"
whenever i plan to go hiking and i am not on a project shoot, i don't carry this much gear with me. Because all this gear slows you down and makes you tired. If you really want to enjoy and also take great photos, all you need is a good smartphone or a compact point and shoot like the Sony RX100. I think that's enough.

I use the lowpro proTactic 350 and a Tasmanian tiger pouch (it comes in different sizes) attached to it using the universal molle system. It' really useful and gives you the space for stuff like gloves and even water bottles.

I own it and I'm loving it !! But I usually only bring 1 camera and two lenses and maybe a drone. Still enough space for snacks and extra clothes and the outside pockets are perfect for a water bottle and a tripod.
Loving the accessibility from the side. Perfect for run and gun shooting. Never have to put it down in the dirt.

Hi, I would recommend checking out the F-Stop Kashmir UL - I use one myself for outdoor day trips. It’s a 30l bag that was specifically designed with the female figure in mind, like all their products is extremely rugged and versatile especially if you utilise their ICU (insert) system.
Atlas Packs has a bag for shorter people.

I can literally get in & camp inside of that bag! No need for a tent. Great one tho! It's very frustrating to try to find your gear, place them in different bags, even lose some tiny stuff. Like this one aaand aaand votes for Peter!

So bizarre, I just returned home for a visit and had bought this a few months ago to be picked up at my parents on my return. I was checking it out and started watching the video!! I needed a bag for the same reasons you did, to put other stuff into.
For me the best one found ( and could afford ) is the lowepro 250 aw ii, i wanted to fit in a 15 inch laptop in it, so this one can. The top compartment can fit anything, i've even put a full sweater in it. It has dedicated pockets inside that top compartment for tissues, pens adapters you name it. In the camera compartment i fit a 6D with a tamron 15-30, a 100mm l IS, the nifty fifty, helius 44-2, there are some small pockets that i fit a battery charger and the cable, 2 pairs of winter socks, underwear, and on the flap on the front i fit a T-shirt, it doesn't have a dedicated tripod but it a few straps i can fit a Vanguard ALTA PRO 263AT. The cool part is that i can just lean on one of the sides and open the camera compartment and take out my camera without removing the backpack from my back :D
It also stays up on the floor, and it has a rain hoodie :D AND IT"S BLACK!

@peterMckinnon you should try the Peak Design Traveler bag. I like it alot, it stands up on its own, its black on black and you have the space in the back that you can use
for what you need. And the Hip straps tucks away when you dont need it.
If you never going to use the waiststraps then just cut it off, I did it to my back and I never missed it! it also helps with unzipping the main compartment...
When I was choosing camera bags to purchase I loved that bag. Front compartment and the extra room is awesome. But not having side access to the camera is a deal breaker for me.
I got the ProTactic instead.

Might I suggest looking into the Hazard 4 Pillbox Camera Backpack. It's a military gear company but this is their camera bag. It also comes in a Grey color for more civilian look. You might like it. What I went with.
