John Mc Laughlin must've influenced every single guitar player on the planet some way or the other !...? He can play everything with the same perfection ! Legend indeed !
I bought this album when it way just realised I’ve always loved the title song 😂Romantic Warrior! Good to see a great guitarist and a bassist that I know of, who both are among my favourites 🎉since some time ago 😊! Ola K Sweden! 😮
same, I bought the album as soon as it was released following a show of RTF in Montréal, CANADA. And attended the 25th year reunion tour on vancouver, CANADA
What a moment. There's almost too much going on here to comprehend. That delivery at 11:46 reminds us we're still on Earth. Otherwise we're off floating in the heavens.

RTF and Mahavushnu Orchestra - and the various derivatives thereof - has always been more about mechanical and robotic flash, than soothing and intellectual soulfulness, a la JacoWanJo.
Most of y'all never heard Circle with Chick, David Holland, Anthony Braxton and Barry Altschul. But Chick always never ever totally left that Avant Garde fertile earth behind it was always haunting his creative self
I wonder of JM had an actual cabinet on stage, since it's a small venue and the volume can't be that loud (or can it?)...as opposed to having the amp direct and fed through the monitors). I know he now normally does that to avoid high volume on stage.
Why does RUclips have so many BOOTLEG videos. At one time this was illegal. Now YoiuTube cahrge me for. This one has fairly good sound, some are horrendous!
Mighty cymbal of Lenny White, swings like a mofo. I didn't like the McLaughlin solo at the end, much too choppy and lots of unnecessary riffing. I love his playing at other times. just became aware of his old appearance on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson playing Cherokee, and of course the Mahavishnu stuff. Wooten gets a nice tone on that bowing
You can tell that both Victor and John are struggling with this, especially during their solos. The original was so much more melodic and beautiful. These performances were no where near the quality of Stanley and Al's playing on the original. I normally love John McLaughlin's playing, but this was not a good example of it.
Victor is great, but here it is obvious he is a different musician as this generation before him. He does not have Stanleys feel and understanding of playing this way. No putting down Victor at all, as Stanley can not do what Victor does.
He wasn't jumping. They were playing a latin groove and Chick was playing a montuno pattern. But if you don't like it everyone is entitled to their own opinions and tastes.

Return of the mahavishtones Forever... Chick, inmortal!!!

Yes! He is way bad and very humble.
As Jeff Beck
I'm sorry but here he sounds more like he's under the influence....
Carlos Santana is a perfect example. John took Carlos under his wings and the rest is history.
That's ONE word, but there are Two words, yes? Holdsworth / McLaughlin.
Rest in Peace, Chick; thank you for the music...
Lenny White, one of the greatest!
Incredible here.

Can't imagine what a host tour dates would have produced from this extraordinary collaboration 🎹🎶 🎸🎶 🥁 🎶 🎸 🎶
Phenomenal. I have seen John and Victor in separate concerts. Great stuff.
A proper Jazz Club has to be crammed!!
Lenny White - total badass.
Wow, what a lineup. Wish there was more documentation of the group in HQ.
Excellent McLaughlin solo. Dug Wooten's bass bowing.
Amazing piano solo by Chick.
Jm is groovin' his ass off and ain't even taken a solo yet. thanks Mr. Corea.
Bravo. Thanks for sharing
A fond, merci..
Dude Chick's facial expressions! He's tuned in to Lenny the whole time. And Victor does his best Stanley Clarke impression haha 13:21
Yeah 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stanley is a giant of the bass. Victor's got no chance . . . He will never rise to Stanley's heights. 😊
Great stuff!

Saw this tour at the Blue Note for his birthday. Epic
Chick Corea forever. R. I. P
They REALLY pack you in at the Blue Note. Ok, maybe I’ve been under a rock but I’ve never seen an electric bass bowed.
still love your work!!
Great stuff 👏🏾👏🏾
An important document, lets all vote it up!!
Chick Corea still has his speed, it's amazing he never slows down
He played majestically right up to the end. Heaven's band now.
Now he slowed down....

Three of those guys played on Bitch's Brew. In 1969.
This and wather babies are the sumun of progresive
How about Victor bowing that electric base. 😊
Rest well, Chick.
Great live or in the studio. RIP Chick
Love it. Thanks for sharing. Sorry I missed these shows.
Buen sonido grandes músicos
RIP Chick Corea
Wow! When/where was this?
jesus. thank you for being there. jealous. as hell lol
One of my favorite bands. Funny how it sounds a lot like Zappa in spots.
Zappa was in awe of John
❤
If JACO was here !!!
Kool as kool.

Not too shabby for a Yorkshire lad. Not too sure who these Americans chaps are but they can play a bit too, to be fair.
11:48 Thank you. 🍽

Okay, so Dave is in LA, Vinnie is not available? i'm old and so is Billie, Got it!- Carter ? Well you get my drift- i would have loved to play -
Lenny White is a badass! You should check him out on Return to Forever recordings. He takes a backseat to no one.
Es como ver planetas alineándose
When was this gig?
cheeseburger cheeseburger @11:40
What a lineup?! Where was this? Thanks for posting !!
The Blue Note - New York. Sign on the Wall!
@@jetrcmsp I was driving! That is why I didn't notice the sign.
Couldn't Get Through The Intro . ☺️

not a nice recording. drums too overwhelming...did they rehearse.
No Al Di
@David. Different. With more soul and melody.

There is zero Beauty. Only sports.
Apparently you can do better...
Mm, Wooten skipped the unison riff. I do like the original, but this in spite of the musicianship, does not work for me.
Confusing session. And the Gefuddel of Mr. Laughlin doesn't impress me much. There are guitarplayers beyond that melodically and phrasewise.
Doesn’t impress you. You must still be a teenager to say something like that. Probably after Hendrix JM is one of the most influential players ever.
Chick corea is jumping to much with the chords in someway at the bass solo of wooten somehow if find it very disturbing.
He wasn't jumping. They were playing a latin groove and Chick was playing a montuno pattern. But if you don't like it everyone is entitled to their own opinions and tastes.

Зачем великий Chick Corea нанял этого легендарного бездаря? Вокруг в 2016 вполне хватало блестящих гитаристов, да и Allan Holdsworth был ещё жив. ???
Wooten looks like chaka from land of the lost. He can't hang with Chick
Lenny can't keep up with Chick, he's lousy
RIP Chick Corea
