“Liar” is a rearrangement of “Just A Liar from Miyako’s former band A Drop Of Joker
This is the 4th song posted from Knocking On Heaven's Gate, after Hammer of Wrath, Nameless Warrior, and Judgement Day.
Yes, it's a little different. It's older. Originally a metalcore song called Just A Liar. Miyako brought it with her from a former band, A Drop of Joker. LOVEBITES rearranged it, and included it on the 1st album.
Something about this Miyako solo just gives me chills every time
I agree. It's definitely the most passionate sounding solo she has ever done. IMHO! And I love that she went with a single coil guitar.

M&M are the very definition of a Vulcan mind meld. They practice together away from the group chasing flawless perfection. All these women are totally dedicated to their music, one another, their fans (Wolfpack), and their art form. They demand perfection and push each other constantly. M&M have taught each other yet maintained those polar opposite personalities at the same time. Haruna kills me, she is so bored at this pace that she has to spin the sticks to keep herself engaged. Again, another change of pace song, these women refused to be locked into any one genre. I always say these women will inspire you to try harder or intimidate you to quit, I continue to conquer my air guitar (LOL).

M&M spend hours practicing together and share a hotel room on tour. They have finished a tour of Japan that was totally sold-out, including the extra date that was added. M&M have appeared, in studio, a couple of times on Marty Friedman’s music TV show talking guitars.
Mr Big is pretty popular in Japan, especially from using a Mikita brand drill in the solo for "Daddy, Brother, Lover, Little Boy" solo. You see that song pop up a lot in Japanese guitarist's covers. Paul Gilbert is also an icon there having presented metal programs in the 90s with Marty Friedman, and Paul speaks fluent Japanese and also gave lessons to a lot of guitar prodigies there like Lisa X. As far as influences go, Paul is one of Miyako's, along with Dimebag Darryl, Kirk Hammett, and Gary Moore. When Miyako first started learning guitar at 18 she used to learn these artist's songs by ear as practice, and "Master of Puppets" was the first metal song she learned all the way through. As far as Midori, her biggest influence in learning guitar was Kiko Loureiro in Angra.

In terms of chronological releases, "Judgement Day" was the 3rd one and "Liar" was the 4th, the most recent.
In A frozen serenade they have the snow globe effect halfway through the song with fake snow falling on them. ]:)

before this video they released Nameless Warrior and Hammer of Wrath I have also seen released videos ahead of this one for Judgement Day live and Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'Em Down) so there have been a few from the lives released some from heaven's gate and some from Judgement Day tour I have also seen the live version of Dissonance before Liar was released.
Great review. They use backing tracks a lot but those are just for extra layers, as extra effects. They never cheat you, and you can even hear pops on guitar very very rarely and they don't erase it in the post production, they leave it as it is.

I think commercially Band-Maid and Nemophila, not to mention Babymetal if you want to count them, are bigger. At least they have more subscribers on RUclips. But Lovebites' new album did really well in Japan and presumably elsewhere, and their YT subscriber count goes up a thousand about every three or four weeks right now after a long time of being frozen at 84,000 or so. Which may have prompted their--famously cautious, not to say chickenish--management to run the financial risk of flying them over for ProgPower 2024 in Atlanta (I don't know if there's going to be a real tour though).
The solution? Buy their stuff. Buy buy buy. Support on social media is cheap. If you love the band, buy their stuff.
Nemophila maybe.
Band Maid is Hard Rock, and Baby Metal is an Idol Band, so not really in the same wheelhouse as Lovebites. Nemophila is, though at least out west, I have to give Lovebites a slight edge based on reactions, probably helped by having a few years headstart on Nemo. But for Japanese female fronted Metal, Lovebites and Nemophila do seem to be the leading acts, and at least on youtube, Nemophila does seem to have come out of the gate running.
But all of them, aside maybe Babymetal still need all the support they can get.

I think the studio version is better than the live version.
Drinking beer from cans is .... to be avoided. Perhaps you could tell the people at the brewery to drop the -en in 'OktoberfestEN' because it doesn't make ANY sense. Traditionally Märzen (alt. spelling Maerzen) was brewed during the month of March only, hence the name. (März = March). Because outside temperatures should not be to high, otherwise the beer wouldn't keep. That's why it used to have more alcohol and it was stored (in German: gelagert, hence 'Lager') in vaults and covered with blocks of ice during the summer. At the end of summer, when brewing was allowed again with temperatures being lower, it had to be consumed first and quickly before it went off. At the time of the 'Oktoberfest'. Prost!
