Her voice has been ASMR like to me since we 1st moved to Atlanta in 1992. Ive listened to classical music stations since when I was a kid at night to help me relax and sleep. Very soothing. Hearing her in the mornings was a pleasant way to awake.
Every morning at work (1981-2000), from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, the radio was tuned to "Second Cup Concert" with Lois Reitzes. And yep ... a second cup of coffee. Those were the days my friend. I thought they'd never end. Those were the days. The days of yesterday. 😊
I started listening to Lois a few months ago when I moved to Atlanta and I love her voice and the way she speaks, it's so soothing. I don't think she has a speech impediment @ruthdowd43, and if she really does I don't think it's a problem. She speaks very clearly and concisely, unlike most people that are sloppy and abuse the use of speech crutches just to speak fast. I hope Lois stays on the radio for many more years, she's an excellent broadcaster.
I can stand her voice! I finally looked her up because I thought she had a stroke and that's why she speaks weird. She is so hard to listen to! I have to turn the dial anytime I hear her.
I think Lois Reitus should retire - her speech impediment has became too much of a distraction. I think she should be grooming someone to take over her place. I would support WABE if she retired.

Thank you for fighting for classical music, Lois. It provides class and respite in a manic world.

that's a bit mean. her voice is just a bit strained from age, but her pronunciation is still perfect.
