I kind of thought this was happening, but the proof is obvious. How this team could have been allowed to go into the season without a viable backup, with so many quality backups available at the beginning of the season is mal-practice. Let's do the 'new maths'...... Our offense scored 3 TD's in Tua's 6 quarters to start the season and just 3 since then in 17 quarters! I think it's fair to say that we're way better at scoring points with Tua on the field.
3 TDs in 6 quarters isn't good. The offense has been unable to do much since week 16 of last season. In the last 10 games they topped out at 22 points (against the Cowboys). 10 straight games of below average/bad offense.
McDaniels whole play book is basically built on anticipation and timing .. in terms of a Qb who excels in those specific skill sets, they don’t get any better than Tua. Most of Tua’s INT if you watch the defender isn’t anticipating the throw, it basically goes straight to the defender because Tua is expecting his guy to be there or the timing and whatever is off.

I appreciate the breakdown, but I also feel that the teams have looked at the film the same way and have ran different coverages vs what they will run against Tua due to the limitations of our back ups. Breaking down the chiefs film in the playoffs is what I’m expecting from Arizona and every team moving forward from a schematic standpoint.

Good film breakdown Doug overall and point taken. However, the play to the sideline to Tyrek was on Tyrek and didn’t require an Odell Beckham type catch. I think if that ball is put where you describe the safety makes a play on it. The fact that this ball fell harmlessly inbounds, lets me know it was very catchable by Tyrek who was coasting and lost in the moment. Chemistry. Which is why these highly paid veteran receivers should have showed up on their off day during the biweekly to catch with a new qb in Huntley.
Great video Doug! Really enjoyed it and i agree with you. The only one i would not put on Huntly is the deep ball to Tyreek as the ball ended just 2 yards in front of him. I thought he should have caught that (but i get what you are saying as well). Keep up the great work!
The throw from Huntley to Reek was actually a good throw. If he throws it to the X you drew up there then it is picked. Reek needs to locate the ball better. But everything else is 100% correct. Our offense is based on timing and spot throws. Seems like nobody other than Tua can do it.
even Tua Haters will have to concede that the offnese *should* improve with him under center for no other reason for the rest of the team getting an emotional boost from his return. On top of that there's the benefit of having reps in a timing based offense that every backup that was plugged into the offense didnt have the benefit of. Nevermind we're talking about a 7th rounder and a 3rd and 4th string backup... (did you all not notice that all the backups were throwing to other backups as their "go-to" guys in these games?). A real head coach is first and foremost a leader of men who is respected even if not liked by his players. I’m not a Tua Stan but I like him as a player. At this point my problems with him is durability, can’t win a Super Bowl while injured on the sidelines. That tyreek deep pass against the colts was not Huntley fault. It comes down to chemistry between receiver and qb. Tyreek isn’t looking up for the ball. He’s looking straight back. He never sees the ball because he’s never able to track it because of his eye level. Whether that’s because he’s not expecting it because of the scheme, chemistry between him and Huntley, or lack of effort, the choice is yours.
With Tua back, we should beat those bottom tier teams. But still no playoffs because we can't beat the top tier teams. No matter what, I'm a ride or die fins fan. Fins up!!!

Great breakdowns but as a coach you can't just have plays that work for one QB and think that will work for next QB. You need to play towards everyone's strengths. Again great breakdowns!
Honestly I am afraid Tua will try to do too much to overcome him being out and overcompensate and either get another concussion or play bad

Good film breakdown Doug overall and point taken. However, the play to the sideline to Tyrek was on Tyrek and didn’t require an Odell Beckham type catch. I think if that ball is put where you describe the safety makes a play on it. The fact that this ball fell harmlessly inbounds, lets me know it was very catchable by Tyrek who was coasting and lost in the moment. Chemistry. Which is why these highly paid veteran receivers should have showed up on their off day during the biweekly to catch with a new qb in Huntley.
Great video Doug! Really enjoyed it and i agree with you. The only one i would not put on Huntly is the deep ball to Tyreek as the ball ended just 2 yards in front of him. I thought he should have caught that (but i get what you are saying as well). Keep up the great work!
The throw from Huntley to Reek was actually a good throw. If he throws it to the X you drew up there then it is picked. Reek needs to locate the ball better. But everything else is 100% correct. Our offense is based on timing and spot throws. Seems like nobody other than Tua can do it.
even Tua Haters will have to concede that the offnese *should* improve with him under center for no other reason for the rest of the team getting an emotional boost from his return. On top of that there's the benefit of having reps in a timing based offense that every backup that was plugged into the offense didnt have the benefit of. Nevermind we're talking about a 7th rounder and a 3rd and 4th string backup... (did you all not notice that all the backups were throwing to other backups as their "go-to" guys in these games?). The question should be more along the lines of, do the Dolphins pack it in for the season and go for draft picks or do you all still think a deep playoff run is possible.
Even if they do go for draft picks Grier will make the wrong choice he sucks at his job

I do believe that Tua will light up the score board and Hill and Waddle will both have T D’s and so will our tight end Smith and our running game will be great do to the defense worrying about the pass

Tua is above average but I can't trust his ability to stay on the field. I agree 100% with your takes on Grier and McDaniel. A real head coach is first and foremost a leader of men who is respected even if not liked by his players. MM wants to be friends and as a result was built a soft team that melts under pressure like an ice cream cone in the Miami sun.
@anthonycaniano9892 We've had that hard-nosed, respect demanding coach before with Flores and Philbin. It didn't work either.
@@ElderGamerX I didn't care for Flores because he couldn't build an offense but they played hard for him and went 8-1 down the stretch in 2021 after the 1-7 start. If they didn't respect him they would have collapsed. Coaches that run loose ships just don't win for long, at least I can't think of any offhand.

I do believe Tua is a better QB than most. Brittle yes. Play calling, adjustments, discipline and game coaching are still a problem.
The problem is the money in contracts that were handed out. For what? 10 points or 15 points a game. I hope if Tua plays we can put some points on the board. I'm fed up with Tyreek Hill drama on and off the field. Trade him if he is not going to earn his pay. Tua is a warrior. I hope the OL helps him succeed.

I’m not a Tua Stan but I like him as a player. At this point my problems with him is durability, can’t win a Super Bowl while injured on the sidelines. But all along I’ve thought the Tua haters just don’t know ball plain and simple. Makes him look pretty good watching others fail miserably to even be in the same universe in comparison. But ultimately that’s the fault of the GM or whoever has the final say that our backup QBs are sufficient. Point being we need Tua and bye bye Grier ✌🏻

That tyreek deep pass against the colts was not Huntley fault. It comes down to chemistry between receiver and qb. Tyreek isn’t looking up for the ball. He’s looking straight back. He never sees the ball because he’s never able to track it because of his eye level. Whether that’s because he’s not expecting it because of the scheme, chemistry between him and Huntley, or lack of effort, the choice is yours.

The problem is because of Tua's dumb head first dive we are in a big hole. Last year, he was protecting himself and practiced going down correctly, but then this year, he forgot all that and hurt the team badly.

I have been a fan since 1969 and things were good from 1970 until 2003 for the most part. Playoff contenders almost every year like the Steelers are today. At least .500 every year.
