Join me on a day of trucking around the West Country of the UK hauling aggregate and grain. There is a little confusion and a rush to get loaded at the end of the day….
There was a Wains truck parked up in Salisbury the other evening. I’ve never really noticed any truck company name before. I hope they realise what a fabulous ambassador you are for them.
Another great video that demonstrates this lady's skill and professionalism.
Brilliant Jemma.
I'm watching this video again and realized my comments were rubbish so I'm trying again.
I thought it was lonely when I drove around the country a long time ago, but compared to now I realize it wasn't so bad.
When you are driving you see people when you pick up and deliver loads, when you are in service areas, and you are surrounded by lots of people on the motorways, and it's more interesting than what I do now, and what you are doing is important.
Thanks Jemma stay safe.
♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🤸👍
Amazing how efficient people can when it's getting near to hometime 😊
I notice I’m giving trucks far more time and space now! You are helping me to understand how stressful your job must be. 😊
In the name of all truckers ,thank you! 😊
Gemma when parked in a spot where you can get blocked in. Drop your trailer legs and draw forward a couple of foot. And in the morning couple up a d you have extra room.
I used to do this parts of London and I could get out in the morning.
no one does that
I don't know if it's the reason but I have seen a truck in a layby that had parked with about a 2m seperation between cab and trailer. I did wonder what that was about. Atty1958s explanation answers it for me.
@@nickaf5262 Yes they do! maybe you don't but real drivers know this little trick.
What a wonderful idea! Thank you so much😊
That’s brilliant! That may come in handy one day
After watching your videos, I have an even greater respect for HGV drivers. After seeing what you have to put up with.
Jemma you are a brilliant employee and I just know you would be the very best friend anyone could wish for! I am so glad you checked in with the help on the mental health side of things as I could clearly see you running out of steam! Well done and best of luck moving forward Jemma Take care and thanks for sharing Terry
Hi Jemma, I know a few people have said this already but the maps you have started to use detailing your routes are fantastic and really add to the quality of your videos. Cheers, Rob.
Your videos get better all the time Jemma, love the engine noise from the Scania!
Im a retired ex trucker and have only recently started to watch your videos. Im now addicted to them! Im in awe and admiration of your expertise and professionalism and you are a credit to the industry. Keep on trucking! ❤
Jemma thanks for clearing the loose stones from around the Hinge Lock as I had a piece of ballast hit my windscreen from a truck as it bounced over a piece of uneven road. Made a mess of the windscreen!
Thats the difference between a Proper Driver and a Plastic One lol.
Always thought truck driving must be stressful, and your vlogs confirm that. Strikes me that some pick up/drop off points don’t exactly make your life easy, stupid inflexible driving regs and don’t get me started on the lack of facilities on route. But to your credit you cope very well and film on top! Well done you.
The problem with the regs being flexible is that when there is some leeway people than assume that leeway to be the legal cutoff.. "well its 10 hours driving but you are allowed an extra 30mins sometimes" people will take that as you can drive for 10:30... not 10 with some spare if you cant stop etc..
With many pickups/dropoffs being so tight its often businesses have expanded or were laid out in the days before vehicles this size were the norm, its hard to totally rearrage or space might not even be available
The Lack of facilities is self inflicked? Because the stupid drivers are controled by some Thick Twat in the office, They are driver hours NOT operator hours, How in their RIGHT mind would work a 15 hour day?? then have a 9 hour break ffs the 15 / 30 / 45 minute in minimum requirment lol some think maximum for some reason again Thick Drivers, ( Why should Cafes be open for someone to park up at Night, when knowone dare stop for something to eat in the daytime.) THATS why most have closed , Caused by Again Spinless Drivers, And just to confirm i have been operating Commercial Vehicles since 1972, If you want to spot for TEA stop for F-----g TEA end off.
I was told many years ago if anything has to Spot let it be Work, its worked ok for me thats for sure.
You are an amazing truck driver. I really enjoy watching your vlogs. Please keep them coming. All the best from New Zealand.
It's good to see Jemma has numerous Aussie and Kiwi viewers. I'm sure you find European trucking interesting and exciting. The towns and roads are very different from NZ and OZ, so I'm sure you really enjoy the sights in her videos.
Another fabulous vid Jemma. You introduced me to Olly Blogs Answer As A %, I am so pleased you are ambassador for the trucking industry and its mental health. As a long time sufferer, I can concur, talking is the best therapy. Keep up the good work, look after yourself, and I look forward to your next update.
Look forward to these videos every week make my weekend,
Hi Jemma Another great vlog. You are spot on when you describe life on the road regarding all the stresses and strains with mental health. With best wishes Crawford.
Another good video jemma nice to meet you at devon truck show happy trucking ❤
Hi Jem, another excellent video diary, we always enjoy watching, and your professionalism is very apparent (stones out of the rear bar), all very impressive. ❤
Hi Jemma I did not no that quary was big as that I only live down road from there keep trucking
Used to load at Cliffhill about 25 years ago. They had a shovel that could load an artic with just 2 buckets, must have been like a 12 ton lift. When he dropped that first one it was like be hit by a train lol.
Good on you for talking about mental health jem. Ive seem some very disturbed folk over the last 30 years (including myself). The pressure of the job is at times rather intense. Highest divorce rate than any other industry etc......
Like the way you name the roads you use Very useful
Hi Jemma. Nice to see you back. Hope that you are alright. Be safe on the road.
Hello from Slovenija. My daughter is sending you a big hug. 😊
Yet another excellent video Jemma, may I suggest, wearing a face mask to avoid inhaling dust/grain particles to avoid problems later in life.
You were in a great mood, it's obvious spring has a good effect on you. This was a very easy and smooth day, everything went well. You could even take a refreshing shower at the end of your shift. As always the scenery is awesome everywhere. The spring colors are beautiful. Usually you can't film the loading process in quarries, but this particular one was an exception. It was interesting to see how everything works inside. Fantastic vlog again Jemma. Your videos always bring sunshine into my Saturdays.
Hi Jemma any chance you can do a walk round your yard sometime and show some of the other beautiful trucks too .
I wish our trucks had a parking break handle like yours! When you set the brake in an American truck it feels like a firecracker going off in your hand
Always know it is going to be a good Saturday morning when there is a video waiting from Jemma.😆😆 Looked like a typical day of British weather, at least you got to see the sun.🌞🌞 Glad your day wasn't too stressful and you managed to get a shower, enjoy your soup and cuppa. Sleep tight, safe journeys.
Hi Jemma, hope all is well.
I nailed my class 1 assessment for Müller Milk yesterday and I start next month! I'm absolutely buzzing 🎉🎉🎉
Just started to watch you recently and i honestly didn’t realise there was so much involved in your job🤔 your very professional in your attitude and clearly have a wealth of knowledge👍🏻keep em coming😁
Another busy day and another trucking video. Always great to see you Jemma. You brighten my day. Take care out there.
Well done, Jemma. Another excellent film. Just admire the way you handle your truck.
Keep up the good work, and I am looking forward to your next one. Take care and stay safe.❤
Hi Jemma, it was nice to meet and talk to you today at the Devon truck show, I was the one from Cornwall, there with my wife.
Nice to see a truck driver cleaning stones off the trailer. I had a stone smash my windscreen that a lorry deposited at high speed. 😀
Wake up to Jemma on a Saturday morning, lovely 😂
Wake up with Jemma would be better
Nice to have you in my kitchen this morning Jemma!
A great way to start my day with a few minutes of you nattering away! Xx
Love that mental health snippet, a friend of mine works for a haulage company in the office as hr/admin and we’ve discussed the lack of support for drivers mental health before, it is disgustingly poor. Hopefully things change the more people push to break stigma around mental health issues and push for companies to actually take an active role in offering professional support to drivers too. Top work Jemma 👌🏻
01:00 use a cone if you can or get one for behind or in front of the wagon 👍
Yay! Jemma video over breakfast, made my weekend 👍👍
My wife died last September and I do about a 100 mile trip to my youngest son and back every couple of weeks. I do find that on these journeys I have time to think about things and it can be a very somber thoughtful time, mainly at present of the ‘what if’ variety, especially on the way back very late at night. At least most other days I am around people lots and the thoughts recede for awhile.
Sorry for your loss! ❤😊
Thank yo for the chat GREAT
Spotted you on the road near Stur last Monday about 0850 hrs
Another fantastic video, I know you don’t like to queue for long at weigh bridges or waiting to unload ,but it’s nothing compared to what some of your fellow European drivers have to do.
Was watching a young polish truck driver who does Poland to Turkey on a regular basic & he crossed the border from Turkey back into Bulgaria & the queue of trucks waiting to enter Turkey was well over 100kms.
A very good Saturday morning to you all
Hi Jemz💎, what a start to the weekend, tea and Jemz💎. Whenever I had trouble finding someone to help I used to park
right in the middle of the yard, so that someone would have to come to me to ask me to move, worked every time 🤣.
Hope you and Ryan have a great weekend. Take care, stay safe and safe driving. ❤
Thanks for video Gemma your nurating is brilliant,
Will
You are lucky to work in such a beautiful part of England reminds me of many holidays
Devon is the best of England

Great to see you working and it's very good to see that you have put up some help for drivers under stress and worries "Better Help"
When I was on the road 24/7 .. yes I mean 24/7 there was no help for drivers.
Now things are changing.
Again well Done Jemma..... a good video again ... 😊😉
Great initiative Jemma working with Better Help👏
Another brilliant video. Great to see you are well. As a mental health nurse I know how vital talking therapies are so it's great to see you are advocating for this service. Stay well and keep safe.
This is a fantastic presentation so informative, thanks Jem
Very good video Jemma
Hi Jemma, and greetings from California! I recently found your channel and have been binge-watching you to catch up 😊 My mother was from Poole and I especially enjoy your visits to Dorset and trying to spot places I may have been. Also, your recent habit of showing a map with your route drawn on is great for those of us who don’t recognize all the place names.Thank you for doing that. Good luck with the home remodeling project; my wife and I and our marriage have survived a few of those 😅 I think I heard you say in a video that you once worked for a circus. Were you a driver or performer? Those high kicks came from somewhere...😮 Best wishes, and thank you for all the insight to your life as a trucker! ❤
Great video Jemma

Hello Jemma and ALL TRUCK DRIVERS. 18 years ago a intensive relationship ended afther 2 years. What tricked burn out. That means in my case, feeling completely warded out, or tired All day long after two hours of driving i have stop for 1 hour. With no understanding from the office , report sick and it cost my job. SO TO ALL TRUCK DRIVERS MAKE SURE YOUR MENTALITY FIT AND THAT BEFORE YOU LEAVE EVERYTHING IS OKE AD HOME WITH YOUR AND KIDS. ALSO price that doctor ad time who told me that i did the right thing before I killed somebody well driving.
Sorry to hear that it wasn't for you! At least you are one of those people who understands the job of a truck driver. many people don't, including some of my friends. All the best to you from Chicago!😊

Well done Jemma, another great video. Loved the content, well done for taking about mental health. It is very important and people like you talking about it encourages others to. It did for me, a fellow RUclipsr encouraged me to. Anyway Jemma, look after yourself and looking forward to the next video.
"site inductions" - We have similar issues with H&S "courses" in office jobs too.
Mental health - Hence things like #OllyBlogs #answer as a percentage.
Had a wains in our yard today daf
I do love driving along the A35. I was on there last weekend, luckily never got caught in the truck show traffic. When getting Honiton I was surprised it was normal traffic.
Great vid again. What a small roads on the countryside with hedges near the road. Visit Holland someday, we have better roads 😂. Keep up the good work.
It's hard work just watching your videos, goodness knows how you feel. I do enjoy them though and I have to admire your skills handling that artic..
