    I love this new way of approaching templates by using related databases. So sneaky.

    Wow, this is such a great, smart concept. I've been doing something very similar, but never considered having it rollup inside the journal. It's been up to me to refer to my ritual page to determine projects/themes. Thank you for sharing this knowledge, Marie! 💯

    I love this idea and I also love the aesthetics you've been able to pour into it to make it more fun and attractive to use. I'm definitely going to use this! Also I much appreciate the short video jam packed with so much information; I love your long videos as well but this one was easier to make it through with only, oh, two interruptions from the toddler. Thanks so much for all your work!

    I am loving these shorter-form content, Marie! It’s great to be able to dive into little bits and pieces and understand why you do what you do and why you have set things up that way. Always appreciate the knowledge! 💛

    Love this idea of linking the themes to the journal days. I’ll be attempting to set this up today. Thanks Marie so helpful as ever.

    I love this!! I do this already but I never actually gave it a name/thought about how I was theming my days! I'm definitely going to set a similar page up on my notion, thanks Marie!!

    Great video! I have a focus for each day, which is basically the same concept as your themes, although right now for me it revolves around household tasks rather than actual work ;)
    I keep track of that in my routines database, I never even though about creating a specific DB for it, that’s a great idea!

    Another great video. 🤗 I am going to implement this today. Also think doing this for my weeks would be good too. 🤔

    Great video! Love this idea of daily themes! Do you think one could do this like a university schedule, for example, create on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, learning on Tuesday and Thursday? Wish more people had videos on the topic of theme days or examples!

    Big fan of themes in theory, though I tried doing something similar based on planetary days and found that it just doesn't work for my ADHD! Need to be a bit more flexible so if I wake up feeling ready to do deep work on a day that's supposed to be for puttering, or totally unable to focus on a "deep work day," I don't beat myself up and lose the entire day. That said, I could see doing this more like a menu-in other words, deciding at the start of the day what the theme will be and selecting it, regardless of what actual day it is. (maybe with a weekly view to get a sense of which "day types" you've done recently).

      @@MariePoulin Thanks, I've had a play. I'm no good with the relational stuff, gonna have to figure that out cos I know it would be helpful if I knew how to do it!

    I like the concept of weekday themes. How do you handle urgent tasks and priorities? For example on friday I do my reviews, like you, but many times I have to work for clients as well because of deadlines and coordination.

    I love the idea. but how flexible is it? what if projects are changing? if its always a rollup from the theme it is quite stiff right? For example as a freelancer. Sure you can say, its monday so its a "work for a client day" but if the project is finished. i really enjoy working with notion and i do love your content.

    • @MariePoulin
      @MariePoulin  3 года назад +1

      You can change up the themes anytime, and my journal still has actual relations to projects. So even though "project 1" is recommended on Monday, i can still manually connect the ACTUAL project, so i can compare, how often do I work on the thing I had planned? Once a project is complete, i would remove it from the Daily Themes relation, and add the next one. Does that make sense?

    This is cool. Have you thought about making something for like the 3rd Thursday of the month to make sure you do things that are only supposed to happen infreqently. Checking your account balance, or calling your aunt or something like that.

      I have a different process for recurring tasks, those don’t need to be day of the week specific so I’d include those in my recurring tasks

    Can I ask a question, what is the difference between practices and actions?
    And why do you repeat the daily habits in the today's practices rollup up and down in chain?
    Sorry for all of those questions and thank you.

    • @MariePoulin
      @MariePoulin  3 года назад

      Actions is my master task database which is all of my tasks and "to dos". Practices are ongoing things I want to do every day or every week, so i dont necessarily need to mark them as "done" the way i do with my tasks. I track those in a different way using an adapted version of this: www.notion.so/Notion-5d0840c6d11742a28ee37a4fd77f731c?p=eec529b9d38a46ab9d6b8e434d7e9b0c So the "chain" is the practices, and each new "chain" gets created when you link a journal entry to it. The rollup at the top is the "remember to do this" whereas the chain relations at the bottom are needed for that tracking, but i hide them as I don't need to see them al every day, they're just there for the chain...) It's a bit complex/advanced to integrate with the practices/habits, so if you're not familiar with that system it might not make sense at first glance!
