    Hi doctor! Thank you for such an informative video.
    I understand you do not have much information regarding the visas, that’s one thing I need guidance for because I’m currently in India pursuing residency in prosthodontics.

      I’m not sure what you are looking for but it really depends on your needs. There is more than one way to get there…

    hi Doc, thank you so much for the video! i'm a foreign-trained dentist who wants to seek a job as a dental assistant (unlicensed) before taking the advanced standing program.
    i have a question: in order to get a job as dental assistant (unlicensed) in NYC, do i need to take courses like CPR/ xray courses?
    i can't find any information about unlicensed dental assistant anywhere, not even on the DANB website, and i've also called the NY dental board, they only provide information for registered dental assistant, so hopefully i can get the answer here, and really need your advice on what step should i take first to work as an unlicensed DA, thank you in advance!😊

      That`s a great question. Each state has a specific rule and I don`t know the details about NY,. However, as a rule of thumb, having CPR and x-ray certification is always helpful, as this is a time and financial commitment that will save future employers from having to do additional things. If I were in your shoes, I would apply for the jobs being upfront about not having done the dental assistant course in the USA. Even if not allowed to assist chairside in NY, many times there are positions that are not directly seeing patients, where you can work while you obtain your certificate.

      @@DentalAcademyUSA ah i see… thank you so much for the advice Doc, i really appreciate it! just to clarify, does this mean i could apply for a dental assistant position without having completed dental assistant courses first, and work towards certification while on the job?

      This may be an option. Correct.

    How much is the pay? Are there plenty of jobs for international dentists?

    • @DentalAcademyUSA
      @DentalAcademyUSA  Месяц назад

      There are PLENTY of opportunities for international dentists. However, it is very important for you to speak English to maximize your salary. I know a lot of people who can do the job well, but do not speak English well, therefore, they are limited in their growth. I see assistants making anywhere from 18-30 per hour, based on location where they live and experience.

      Hi! if you are already a doctor too from India, you should probably try to go to Florida. If are not a doctor, you have to go through the full process here.

    Hello doctor, i am dentist with ukranian diplome and i already have work permit. Is it possible to work as dental assistant? If yes which states allow me to work before doing the NBDE. I am currently in Pennsylvania. Thanks in advance!

    • @DentalAcademyUSA
      @DentalAcademyUSA  29 дней назад +1

      Of course it is! I did that. The INBDE is NOT required for you to work as a dental assistant. I would start knocking on doors and dropping your resume!
