That was the greatest video on triangles I have ever seen. Applause!
by the way one of the most brilliant of all.
agree, brilliant presentation.
Is there any no Gi instructionals on any aspects of BJJ available?
agreed.
Fact !
💯🤙🏾
Bold to assume I can finish anything as a whitebelt
Underrated comment ha
Bold to assume you cannot.
@@brittanymccann6312 experience shows I haven't
@@tacticalministries3508 I have never trained in BJJ but I watch videos online and my friend who trains in mma needed a grappling partner so I stepped in because why not and I managed to submit him as a no belt by going from a rear naked to an armbar with no training so its not impossible. He may of underestimated me but he did try to get out of both submissions I got him in.
Tactical Ministries just cause you suck doesn’t mean everybody does buddy.
I got a A in trigonometry thanks to Thos video
Failed english tho
Robert Herbst because of a typo? Troll on my brother! Hope you get a GF one day. an* this* Mr. Grammar Police
@@robertherbst9487 English* though*
@@nevarj PUN because he misclicked and typed "thos" instead of "this."
Such a good idea for a video. It’s more than a demonstration, it’s a love letter to the triangle.
💯💯💯
So jelous of guys who can just lock up super deep triangles without even using their hands.
Haha being 6' 3 helps
@@bergenmatthew 6'7 aswell hehe
I literally can't perform a triangle, tried and tried and even while rolling with a buddy to learn better ways to do it my legs are simply to short and stubby to ever make it happen :( lol Key locks for the win!!
@@Shawn-fr4hg It's all about angles. I am 5'7 and hit triangles frequently. Shoot your leg over, lifting your lower-back off the mat. Pivot your body and under-hook his leg, with that angle you can sinch up your triangle. If needed hit a pit-stop shin-grab as you base with opposite foot to pivot. If you angle properly you should be able to triangle even with stumpy legs.
@@publicbasics3824 Despite the fact that your advice is literally spot on! Unless I find a way to shave a few inches off my thighs/calves it's just not something I can do. The only time it's even somewhat possible is when my partner happens to be on the Skinner side of things. (I'm 5'8 @ 200lbs and built like a walking brick wall) very stout, lot of mass, rather flexible but something are just insanely difficult. i.e. Triangle hahaha
"All Jordan needed was a reason to go where I wanted him to."
This guy looks like a bjj wizard
Dude....it is INSANE how smooth this technique looks... like a GD boa constrictor... my God this guy is a professor
I love his chill, relaxed approached. makes it look so effortless and graceful. And he shows how the technique evolves over the journey.
This was the greatest bjj I've ever seen: short, sweet, and about 50k techniques to practice. That armbar "fail" into a trap is freaking disgusting, can't wait for my gym to reopen
It's a pretty common tactic. It works beautifully on lower belts, but higher belts see it coming from miles away (although you can still make it work sometimes).
Train by day. Roy Dean RUclips channel by night.
😂😂
All day
Nick Diaz is that you?
i can hear this comment
Five minutes of pure BJJ gold! Thanks!
Thank you so much!!!!! I'm still in the first minute and that's already the best video I've ever seen on triangle chokes!
Such an artistic and masterful presentation! And of course love your gi, get after it 👊🏻
More of these please. Loved this so much
Oss! I'm a newbie to BJJ ( a one stripe white belt) and this was... how shall I put it... "captivating"... will replay and replay. So much to see and learn here. I may only take 5% but that 5% will make a massive difference. Thank you.
Anthony Donnelly good job, just keep on training my friend! Osss!
@@Omgiamsotriggered Thanks man... I have been keeping at it and earned my blue belt a few months ago. Osss!
This was awesome man, gave me a lot to think about as a white belt that's right off the showroom floor
Cant wait to go to class tomorrow after watching this video.
Roy Dean be like... "what if i told you... " 😂
I just got that DNA Gi from origin delivered today, Sick video by the way 🤙🏼
This gave me an understanding of the different levels in a way I never considered. Thanks Roy.
Don't forget all of the beautiful triangles from the back:-)
Roy Dean's Jits vids are the best out there!
My favorite is the omlaplata to a reverse triangle with a kimura
Wow, you can clearly see classic newaza Judo in his last movements, mr. Dean really it's a multidisciplinary master
thanks as a white belt this has shown me that i am heading in the right direction
Roy dean is so smooth
Nice one Roy! Now, everyone’s getting triangled!
I love that you mention the concept of “kuzushi” I literally was inspired by a Zen story and named my schools Balance Studios.
@@BalanceStudios
I have your original Blue Belt Requirements, but this looks so good that I'm tempted to get it as well.
This was amazing! I haven't seen such a good series of build ups between belts systematically demonstrated EVER! I would appreciate more technique break downs. You've earned my sub!
So . . .I'm a brown belt. Watching this video made me feel wholly inadequate. Guess I have some work to do on my triangle game. But honestly this made it look so fun. Can't wait for Corona to pass so I can sit down at an open mat and just drill.
Triângulo show de bola
wish youd post more! very cool vids
I’m gonna watch this everyday until I can pull one off at practice
roy is so funny but awesome
That off the back, spinning triangle is so smooth and satisfying to watch
He is the man
Brilliant the guys a genius
Holy Game Of Chess Batman..... Wow.
Awesome Video Progressions.
Me watching this at 4am instead of studying for finals
hey Roy!!!nice video!!! can you make a video about wristlocks and gripping??
Kinda sounds like solid snake 🐍
I love the triangle!
Excellent video.
this would be cooler if it wasn't a against a 15 year old giving zero resistance.
Dam this video gives me goosebumps. His voice is the David Attenborough of jiujitsu
Next time my teacher asks me about triangles.....
God that's a beautiful video
Thank you
Some of the transitions here are just so awesome!
Tom Evers Ha, GAYYYYYYYYYYY
This video is incredibly well done and a blessing for newcomers to grappling
Learnt the first one 0:10 as a white belt, is it a normal white belt triangle?
Questions for all my BJJ practitioners out there...
Would y’all say someone who’s smaller has an advantage in BJJ? I’m a 5’7. 125lb male and I’m 20. Every time I grapple my friends who are much bigger than me they always have trouble getting me in a hold. I end up slipping everything very easy. However when it comes to stand up I suck lol.
Do y’all think being skinny or short serves an advantage in BJJ? or do u think any hight or size doesn’t matter?
Wow... Sweet stuff bruh. Thank you.
I love that Lasso guard invert to triangle. I'm so glad I've got the legs for triangle chokes and got turned onto them by my coaches really early on. The Triangle/Omoplata/Arm Bar game has served me well so far.
Those transitions are sick. Mind blown.
Dang, that was far beyond what I was expecting to see. Thanks, Roy!
"If Jordan reaches back between my legs, that's ideal" haha :D
That origin gi on point! Get after it
This is a REALLY well produced video. The voice over the clear demonstration in the video explains everything and the camera angle allows everything to be clearly seen that the 2 guys are working. The chill - not too loud or annoying- background music is perfect too.
this the greatest Jui Jitsu tutorial ever. im a white belt of one month and trailer at three times a week. this video and hopefully a series is now in my study. fanflipntastic
started jj 2 months ago and i'm about 300+ videos in and this roy dean is the smoothest operator.
Roy is smooth like butter. Beautiful!
discipline equals freedom
Now go and watch Keenan's Triangle escape video!
awesome, reminds me of the narration of American Psycho lol
awesome skills and great short video with a good explanation.
An amazing instructor delicately & precisely explaining jujitsu....
I am totally mesmerised every time I watch a Roy Dean video.
Love it, Mechanical.
This video on triangles is absolutely insane its so aesthetically pleasing to watch, thank you!!
Poor kid! Hope he got paid well for all that discomfort. 😂 Amazing video. Thank you professor!!
Very good demonstration of the technique mae hishigui sankaku from Judo and more as expected in Judo a domain from any possible application position ... Just Excellent !!!
I am only a white belt and one of the first techniques o was thought was the hip bump triangle didn’t realise it was a brown belt level technique
Best jiujitsu vid I’ve seen.
So inspirational.
Really make me wanna relocate myself and come to be your disciple.
This sounds like American psycho narrating jiu jitsu. No but seriously great video! 👍🏽
The quality of this 5 star, please do more of these videos
Good lord! Is the rest of the DVD this good?? Doesn’t matter. Purchasing immediately.
Great video!!
Ok I never tried jj or bjj in my life and although I am really thinking to get into it I can’t stop wondering after the video WTF???
This guy is unbelievable, he's teaching principle over technique video after video. Love his stuff.
Me as a white belt:
Damn...this move is like inaccessible and I feel like I’m fighting myself to finish it....
Me as a Purple belt:
This move is inaccessible and I am fighting myself in my attempts to finish it.
Excelentes variações do triângulo !!!
The triangle is my favorite sub as a white belt but when my opponent tries to escape I lock down tighter with my legs. If I hold this position for too long - whichever leg i have over the shoulder - that knee pops and I have to tap to put my knee back and stop it from tweaking
If someone asks me if I know how to do a triangle, I am probably going to answer a little differently than I would have before watching this.
Was unsure if i was watching a Jitz vid or a Tom Ford video.
I feel like triangke is a more advanced choke
Got that Origin discipline Equals Freedom Gi I see! Nice
I’m gonna try it from the back next time. Looks incredible.
Is it just me or were the blue belt level items more complex than the rest ?
And that’s why you should never street fight a black belt 🥋
You go in for a punch because of the "opening" next thing youre unconscious and he didnt even hit you
awesome video but i couldn’t help but feel sorry for that poor young man getting submitted nonstop lol
Such a soothing voice for some killer moves!!!🤔🥴😆
I am a white belt with long legs and I love triangles... Now I really really love triangles... 😍
Depending on which arm you trap, does it matter which leg does what for the triangle choke?
This guy doest know anything. Im an expert. And an astronaut. I have to go do brain surgery now. Im so high I dont event know was goin on.
WoW♥️🥋
Beautiful!
No wonder blue belts often quit. This poor lad was choked countless times in a row haha
The serie from white belt to black belt is very useful. Many thank for the series bro!
