I completely agree with you on the need for Oris to make a movement to replace the sellitas, that will really make them stand out from all the competition
Great, in-depth review-even love camera work and all the angles of the watch. 1. The ghost position? Could care less. 2. No watch enthusiast is paying $7k for this. After a 20-25% discount it can be had closer to 5k or 5.5. That’s a little more reasonable. 3. I LOVE it. It’s modern, fun, unique. Even the bezel, clasp, and bracelet are, again, unique. 4. That’s nice when so many luxury watches look like they belong in, yawn, the 1950’s. 5. This might be in my future, while one of my next purchases will be the green Aquis the second will not. My heart belongs to another, but man this is a fun watch and isn’t that what watch collecting and love is about?
Jimmy S it’s ok to be different my friend.... I love it. I’ve already have a ORIS Aquis all green dial. But having a automatic watch which last for 10 days running, now I thought my Tissot 1000 powermatic 80 hrs was long enough without self-winding it!
I am really not one to like skeleton style watches but this beast is a beauty ! Absolute killer piece. Thanks for showing this Bruce. I would buy this, it would just take a little budgeting:)
A fascinating looking watch. This is not something you see every day if ever. I agree with you on the use of the Selita movements. If they can develop their own for the aquis, that would set them apart.
I think this is an awesome watch and I really think it is very interesting but for $7K there several other watches I would get first. This video is beautiful Bruce, I love the combination of macro, still and video work. Thank you for a great review :)
Beautiful movement! Awesome case! 7k is a price point i won't be able to pay in near or even far future unfortunately. Informative review, thanks Bruce!
I had this watch but traded it for Oris Aquis Lake Baikal . This watch is super cool but I didn't like some details on it . Crown guard is too small , I don't like tapering lugs .They're edgy and sharp but I would like to see Oris utilizes the way CORUM does when it comes to lugs . The funniest part of the watch in my view was winding it up when the power reserve was in white area .It took more than 3 minutes to fully wind it as I wind the watches not in forwards but also in backwards . Accuracy wise ,I mostly wound it up when it was in white area or the power reserve was extremely low .Therefore accuracy was dodgy causing the watch running faster more than 4 minutes 30 seconds per month . The part of which is that this movement don't come with the swan neck to regulate the accuracy when the power reserve is low . Anyway, it was a nice watch
Saw the watch in the thumbnail and I was like "fuuuuuuuuu**!! Another pretty watch!!" Then I saw the measurements, 44mm case and 52mm lug to lug? Good. Too big for me. Don't have to spend any money.
A Raymond Weil freelancer skeleton with a Salita proprietary movement or tissot skeleton with the ETA movement both for under 3k, are nicer options to me.
As much as I admire Oris making there own movements like the 400 and the 115 , they will need time to sort out the issues ,God bless you if the movement fails as has happened with the 400 , you will have to send it back to Oris and that's a long wait time , at least with the old but proven Salita movements any competent watchmaker can repair it at a reasonable price.
This is a great looking watch but I'm not a fan of the bracelet. It would look amazing on a heavily bolstered matt black leather strap imo. Check out ID Guy's vlog as he has a very interesting point of view in regards to the hour markers which I totally agree with.
Really cool halo watch. Totally unique and a complete break from all the dive watches and retro watches which ORIS are milking to the max with their diver range. Too big for most tastes but it’s a design exercise showing what they can do and where they might be going. I hear they have a big release in March which could involve a new in house movement in a more useable size watch. Possibly a in house movement Diver 65 too. The owners of Oris have said they want to be ready for when peoples tastes change and the demand for retro falls away so we will see.
This is a superb watch, materials are top notch as well design and and overall quality. Even at $7k there is a lot of value here. Oris has a winner here despite some naysayers. This watch proves oris can make a watch to compete with 7-12k bracket. Had this watch been inscribed with “Rolex” on it, all the naysayers would be ready to pay $30k for it. Unfortunately for Oris, their presence is watered down by too many ADs, if they clamp down on market flooding a bit and continue with this level of watchmaking, they can climb to the next level easily.
Just watched the beginning of this video. BICO is looking great. Crap, and I’m going to my AD today for a change on a different watch. Better not watch any more of your video or I’ll get in trouble.
Bruce Williams Thanks, Bruce. I did try it on at the AD this afternoon. Nice watch but not for me. I am looking for a dress watch if you have anything you’re unloading.
Bruce Williams Another nice watch for sure. I tried on the green Oris Aquis today too at Hyde Park in Phoenix. All nice watches but recently my taste changed and now instead of middle tier watches I’m wanting to wait for the next level. I’d still wear a gshock or Timex Ironman but if I’m spending any sort of money, I’d rather wait and stretch a bit to get something that I really want. My Tudor BB 41 was my first “large” purchase. Makes me smile daily. That’s the magic. Of course, I wish I could get the same feeling from the Timex.
Bruce Williams Hi Bruce. With your experience in flipping watches, what website would you recommend I use to sell a two month old Tudor BB 41mm Black dial?
I am buying this watch as an investment: 10 days power reserve, in house movement, titanium, independent brand, and marks a new era for that independent older-than-rolex brand. My bet is this will increase in value after discontinued, especially if new-old stock
Nice timepiece, over priced at CAD9,500 no thank you. I cannot let a ghost crown position slide at this price point. So many other options for this amount of $$$
I completely agree with you on the need for Oris to make a movement to replace the sellitas, that will really make them stand out from all the competition
Well your wish has been answered.
They just released the first aquis with the new movement.
Megatron wants his watch back.
Its definitely on my want list. Rhose sharp angles, with unique details are just beautiful.
I love this watch!!! Little pricey for me.
Nice watch. Looks really interesting. Thanks Bruce and J Brooks for showing us and providing a good review.
My next ORIS ... love it 👍🏻

Excellent comment Jeremy!
Beautiful piece! Love the clasp!
Really cool! Would never ever buy it but I appreciate something different and cool being made

MarcR34 yes of course, I agree but the design of this one would not suit my personality and style :)
ORIS is amazing in every single angle 😍
I am really not one to like skeleton style watches but this beast is a beauty ! Absolute killer piece. Thanks for showing this Bruce. I would buy this, it would just take a little budgeting:)
A couple of weeks ago on TV, I saw the manager of the New York Yankees wearing this Oris, but his was the leather strap variant.
A fascinating looking watch. This is not something you see every day if ever. I agree with you on the use of the Selita movements. If they can develop their own for the aquis, that would set them apart.

You bet brotha! Always appreciate your kind comments
Where do you get the oris bear mug? I need one! Lol
Random Rob got it at microlux show and gave it to me
Beautiful movement! Awesome case! 7k is a price point i won't be able to pay in near or even far future unfortunately. Informative review, thanks Bruce!
not saying if you had 7k youd spend it on this, but dont count yourself out you will easily make 7k this year
Really love this one. This for the great video Bruce, you have great talent!
Thanks!
Very interesting watch! Thanks!👍

Looks pretty cool, but a little too big and too expensive for me personally. Like the Zenith Defy Classic Skeletonized a bit better tbh
Saw the watch in the thumbnail and I was like "fuuuuuuuuu**!! Another pretty watch!!" Then I saw the measurements, 44mm case and 52mm lug to lug? Good. Too big for me. Don't have to spend any money.
Its a big boy!
That intro... Love it! Where's the music from?
I buy from Audiojungle personally
great watch 💪

How does the finishing of the titanium stack up to the Sarx055?
Excellent. This Oris does not carry polishing, but the brushing is very very good
As much as I admire Oris making there own movements like the 400 and the 115 , they will need time to sort out the issues ,God bless you if the movement fails as has happened with the 400 , you will have to send it back to Oris and that's a long wait time , at least with the old but proven Salita movements any competent watchmaker can repair it at a reasonable price.
Great Review!

That would be pretty sick

I sure hope that is true Lee. I'm sure it would come with a price increase but even if it is significant it is really exciting to see.
Enjoy the caliber - but I think the original PP cal 111 is the better value atm, seeing those pop up around 50 percent msrp
Nice review
Thank you
I would have gotten it if not for my puny wrists =(
I love my Oris Artelier Calibre 113 very much!
WTF? A halo watch with a movement they use to brag about, and it got a ghost position like a $200 micro brand???
Yeah that's unfortunate

Think I could pick it up for £4800-£4950 ish !!? Anyone know any cheaper?
Nice skeleton watch!
dat intro doe got damn.
First
I just type first regardless. You actually are the first comment ha!
Wish they made this watch in a 39 or 40.
Just watched the beginning of this video. BICO is looking great. Crap, and I’m going to my AD today for a change on a different watch. Better not watch any more of your video or I’ll get in trouble.
I'm going to sell this Bico after its review... lol you want it?

Sky is the limit though like your name. Lots of options at 7k but no need to limit to only one
@@BruceWilliams Absolutely agreed!
Looks expensive to service.
Các bạn chớ có mua đồng hồ hải triều nha vì ở đó chế độ bảo hành rất tồi vì tôi đã từng bị hải triều phủi trách nhiệm rồi
Live a well done skeleton
Too big for my liking. Beautiful watch though.
Weird flex but ok.
too big, too expensive, too rought
Beautiful watch for $2500 😀
Nice review.
