For real. It starts slow and builds up, making it suspensful and attention grabbing. Like someone else said, gots that horror movie vibe, like an inhuman but intelligent stalker slowly revealing themselves throughout the movie and eventually getting into the final chase.
For some reason I keep recalling the title as "we drifted as worried fire" I guess it sounds more prose-like. Anyway this is one of my favorites GYBE tracks
I understand this argument for the meandering parts of many Godspeed sections. They are rarely, at least to me, about full songs, this and Moya are among the few perfect full songs but GYBE to me is about fantastic movements and sadly has filler parts in between that are epic for tastes other than my own gladly
I like them because they set the tone for epic storytelling, but yeah they do take a long time to build up to a fortissimo. But I think the long build, is essential for making the explosive parts feel more epic.
this song made me cry even though I was playing tetris at the same time. i never thought i would cry while playing tetris.

At any street corner the sense of absurdity can strike any man in the face.

Horror film vibes. Fantastic.
feels like being on an abandoned raft.

That repeating motif is chilling with the grinding orchestra in the background. Gives me chills.

Personally think this rivals anything on LYSF. What a journey.
Yeah, I was sleeping on this song for way to long. Makes me ball my eyes out.
I love everything about this track but the drumming is beyond everything else
The section from 17:10 to 18:40 has to be some of the best music GY!BE's ever recorded
Christopher Dlouhy 6:41 to 10:13?

Makes me think of the past, but not in a nice nostalgic or a regretful way. Just the realization that it is gone.
12:05 gets so intense

Glenn Branca influence is really strong in the second half
Heard this on iheart while listening to Russian circles radio. It's very suspenseful music. Put it in an assassin movie or a ninja movie or something.
Russian Circles remind me of Mlladic by Godspeed check that track out as well.
Magnificent.

I tried several times... they're boring as fuck. It's like an endless intro.
