Any parent knows how harsh a task it is to give aid to their children at any hour of the early morning, much less the work day. When a nanny robot can be there 24/7, our next generation of kids will grow up in ways we never had available, before. (I feel it is the small things that escaped many) When designing a robot's foot, the key considerations are stability, balance, and adaptability to various terrains. Here are some principles to guide the initial design: 1. Foot Size: A larger foot base provides more stability, especially for humanoid robots. A size comparable to an average human's foot, around 10-12 inches (25-30 cm) long and 4-5 inches (10-12 cm) wide, would be a good starting point. This size offers a balance between maneuverability and a stable platform. 2. Shape: Consider a foot shape that is more rectangular with rounded edges rather than purely human-like. This can improve contact with the ground and distribute weight more evenly, especially on uneven surfaces. 3. Materials and Cushioning: A flexible, durable material like rubber for the sole could improve grip and shock absorption. Integrating sensors to detect pressure or uneven surfaces can help the robot adapt its balance in real-time. 4. Ankle Flexibility: Incorporating a joint that mimics an ankle can provide better adaptation to different surfaces and enhance stability. Starting with the foot is indeed crucial, as it lays the foundation for the robot's overall mobility and balance. Focusing on shock absorption, terrain adaptability, and balance mechanisms can significantly enhance the robot's walking capabilities.
Tell me you don’t understand the difference between cost of sale and net profit without telling me you don’t understand the difference between cost of sale and net profit … in all of retail, including consumer electronics, a 50% cost of sale (gross profit) is actually an average to poor gross profit; all other non-sale costs are then subtracted to leave the pre-tax net profit. Elon told us the CyberTruck would be just under $60,000 in reality it costs almost $90,000 So let’s not fool ourselves his Robot will cost around $50,000 this will also be reliant on a service contract and AI package or subscription for machine learning software for it to upgrade & operate on, I would suspect a subscription package of at least $150 - $200 per month if not more in the beginning depending on the use you have for your Robot 🤖.
Keep in mind that it will be another year to year and a half before the robots are available for anyone to buy outright. That's plenty of time to fix any bugs and improve certain aspects of Optimus
Can they drive a service truck? Can they climb a ladder? Can they run wire in a house? Can they plumb a house? Can they finish sheetrock, install cabinets, run a rake on an asphalt crew? If so, we are in trouble....
I highly suspect that once the crafty person gets their hands on their own personal robot, he or she will tear it apart, reverse engineer how everything works and release the data to anyone with next gen 3D printers to utilize. Well I think it's fantastic most of the robot company's have made leaps and bounds when you think how many computations the machine has to make just to walk and stay upright it's amazing but they need to make sure that the machines work with us and not against us and be as human as possible but safe gaurds must be put in place to keep us humans safe they will be a great asset in health care and looking after the older genaration .
We need robots to replace corrupt traffic officers. 😉
Waiting for china to make affordable robots 1:03
😂😂 yes bro
The scene around 16:25 is very reminescent of that from 'West World'. Very cool!! If only we had THOSE humanoids!
Optimus, tell me dirty jokes while you do the laundry.
While the technology is impressive, we must also consider the potential societal impacts of integrating robots into our daily lives.
The governments should pass a new law asap prohibiting corporations to have such robots. Physical people should be the only ones allowed to own them and send them to work on their behalf keeping their salaries for the work done by their robots.
Sounds a little expensive when i see a RUclipsr with a 3d printer and Amazon make these. What if i collected electronic trash and just built a robot and then it did it and then expanded. That’s literally one way and it’s been working so far on plenty of things. We could update the trash collection and sort and reuse by using robots to organize and break things down and such. Recycling.
The community of robots, the homemade aliens
Numb #1 Alien meme: Xeno
Atlas is Boston Dynamics and was once DARPA. Its biggest problem is run by government and, as such, has had out of control spending. On the good side, we have learned a lot from the atlas program. But, like most R&D projects, it will mysteriously go bankrupt to free it from all of the R&D dept and stockholders. Then the technology will sell off to the next generation of startups. Meanwhile Optimus is developed with the end goal of producing a sellable product. Optimus will be first to market in spite of Atlas having 20 years head start.
How will Tesla address concerns about the durability of Optimus in various home settings?

How does Tesla plan to ensure that Optimus remains competitive against established robotics companies in the market?
How will the introduction of advanced robots impact societal norms and expectations related to technology and automation?
It doesn't, the only thing these robots will be good for is as a military force against aliens attacking the planet, then we let lose our billion robot army to fight for us, that is the only real use for them.
Will Optimus protect you?
Optimus could be a fantastic tool for elderly care, but I’m cautious about how it will handle real-world challenges.
yes.. I can see this being a game changer in elderly independence. Even as a sentry function of see someone fall and try to help them up. If it cant - calls for help. Check the stove is off.. doors are locked.. fixes food. Makes sure the person gets up and can move around. Monitors their drugs and reports missed pills.
@@JWG2014and how will it know if the person who has fallen is still conscious, or bleeding or cannot get up due to injuries. These things are not as straightforward as you seemed to suggest. How will the robot even know if the person has even fallen? Not trivial.
If the worker buys a robot and sends the robot to work, the robot works and the human gets paid. That is the solution. Instead of employers firing people and hiring robots.
If this continues, i see these robots, like iRobot, replacing our mundane, minimum wage tasks.
Carwashers. Order takers/Preppers at fast food joints. Gas Station attendants. MailMan? Shelf Stockers at grocery stores. Waiters/Waitress.
This very well could be an amazing thing, but also horrible.
Imagine coming home and Optimus welcoming you. And then you relax while receiving a massage from it. He will never get tiered, never ask for food or money. It will be a walking, all purpose smart device at your service all the time.
He could call emergencies in case of a medical situation, or even drive u to the nearest hospital. Give u first aid and safe ur life.
Do all your errands so that u have more time to do Human work which is exploring, studying, inspiring and meditating.
We need Humanoids as soon as possible, the world is getting cruel day t day and robots will save us.
Will Tesla offer training programs to help businesses maximize the potential of Optimus within their operations?

Time for the Terminator to come to earth… or the TVA to take some action. 😂
It is said that all robots (Boston Dynamics, Honda Asimo, etc) are remote controlled by human. I read article that Tesla demonstration this time was also the case (human control remotely). Another point is that the robots need not be necessarily humanoid type in the manufacturing plant. Many types of robots are already being used in the plant.
Congratulations Let's Partner.❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
20k is nothing. if that robot can fold clothes , clean , cook and watch the kids I would easily pay 100k. Who ever makes a robot that can cook , clean , say yes boss , have meaningful conversations and at night give you some happy ending . The wife is the first one to go. LOL Man would not need a wife and this would save man millions.
@Elonteslagiveaway1
Keep in mind that it will be another year to year and a half before the robots are available for anyone to buy outright. That's plenty of time to fix any bugs and improve certain aspects of Optimus
Better to have a close friend than a robot that needs maintenance
It's my dream to a robot friend 🤖❤
Go make a real human friend.
2025 ~ 2035 🤖🤔👍👍
Can they drive a service truck?
Can they climb a ladder?
Can they run wire in a house?
Can they plumb a house?
Can they finish sheetrock, install cabinets, run a rake on an asphalt crew?
If so, we are in trouble....
Eventually they will, that's the thing
Having robots create more robots seems like a good idea 😅
Every Sci-Fi film starts like this
I highly suspect that once the crafty person gets their hands on their own personal robot, he or she will tear it apart, reverse engineer how everything works and release the data to anyone with next gen 3D printers to utilize. We will see just truly how much of that $20,000 grand can be cut down to... pirate style.
20k.?
Nah! No way. 38.999 more realistic.
Plus VAT 😂
Can Optimus be programmed to adapt to dynamic changes in market demands and consumer preferences?
' Wait until those robots rust just the same as the Cyber trucks... Elon Musk made those trucks with cheap metal that can rust over the simplest of weather.
Water and electricity do not mix. Which is a problem if they could rust. And also AI tends to be unpredictable. ' - Chrome
I would personally put the most boorish, crass, downright dirty disgusting and hilarious AI mind into my Optimus and then just have him tell me jokes all day as he makes me organic seed oil free pizza.
Misquoting Musk twice in the first minute.
This is really cool😮😮😮😮😮😮🎉
yes it is my friend and anyone saying the average person wont get one is massively mistaken or at least the average person should get one assuming elons claims come true about what they can do as you will easily be able to rent them out as workers for other people making bank in the process. i think universal basic income will be necessary very soon after these are mass produced as this will make human workers way less cost effective in most jobs,
and im looking forward to a world where we don't need a 9-5 therefore giving us the time and energy to pursue our passions and doing the things that we are actually good at and enjoy doing making the human race way more productive as most people never get out of a depressing 9-5 so never discover what they are actually passionate about making us just drone away not really putting effort into the things we spend the majority of our lives doing
In this shitty times, Elon inspires me to stay alive so I can see the future…
The robot revolution WILL come, it´s inevitable. Luckily there are only two companies that you have to focus on - that is Hyunday (they own 80% of Boston Danamics) and obviously TESLA.
Very soon everyone on the planet will want his own robot to do endless task, of even just be a friend.
Invest in these now, and you be invested in changing the world FOREVER! This is way bigger than the Internet or the iPhone... imagine you where able to invest in the ENTIRE AUTO industry in the year 1910!
Maybe in 5 years time the price drops a bit too, maybe to £15'000 or £10'000 , when the new generations come out
I believe the utility and ability to not be in the way is one of the most important parts of a commercial humanoid robot, similar to what a roomba is.
Imagine paying extra 1000$ for more languages in tesla bot. Or for some other features.
I think each robot should provide income for a human. so its not taken jobs away from people to a point were there is zero jobs for any human. and there for become hated. which will cause riots in cities from people saying there are no jobs
Each person has a work robot. if you are disabled etc then you get a care robot too.
it will be terrible what corporations will use it for. unemployment will increase like never before in history, product prices will not fall at all, but billionaires' profits will multiply. Factories and soon restaurants will stop hiring.
It’s all fun and games until it’s light turns red 💀
If you're young just imagine what is coming in the next 50 years
Is this going to be one of those terminators' robots that pretends to be friendly
They say Elon copied I robot which is laughable but figure ai looks identical to Optimus, now that's a copy. Seeing as how Optimus started before 2022
It's donting to think all these engineers and workers helping to make these robots don't know that their creation will have the potential to replace them 🤔 😮
20K but then you need the "Do The Dishes" Subscription at $100 dollars per month. In addition to this..does anyone wonder what they'll do for jobs when AI and robots will do it all? My assumption is we'll all die of starvation.
Wonder how long it will be until robots can move and walk more gracefully like a human?
Musk will be th worlds first trillionaire I PROMISE you that
Maybe it's time to give our solders their arms and legs back
Sounds like the thing a James Bond villain would do - entice everyone with a Robot for a cheap price - then once everyone has one - press a button and they imprison you and hold you for ransom while Moriarty Musk goes on to rule the world.
For $20K will eliminate bartender compare to $35K human bartender per year plus insurance and benefits 😂
elon is big on calculating material costs for things as the main price factor. a robot is not as heavy as a car so thats why its cheaper.
Tesla Robots, “ shiten on the little guy “ lol. Where have I heard this ?
Gawds, my kids are just wondering how they will ever be able to own a home, and they have good paying jobs.
THE WAY THEY WALK , Is like a human who just crap there pants , they walk weird
tesla can make heaps other companies can't so market will lean towards tesla will be more common and sold more by word of mouth because more people have them in general but figure 02 will be probably second place because its so good and probably hard to buy due to demand this is my predictions so far both bots will be amazing in 5-10 years regardless but for me 20k USD is a bit too much maybe if its around 15k I'd be looking into buying one as they make and sell them its just going to snowball this is going to be epic to watch overtime :D
Lol. Let's be real. If Elon says 10-20k it will be 50-60k.
TESLA SHOULD ALSO ADD PROGRAMS ON ROBOT THAT DEPENSE THE BUYER, AGAINST ROBBERS AND HOLDAPERS. FOR SURE MANY PURCHASE IT. ✌️✌️
Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.
Having a robot that can help with daily chores and kids’ education is awesome. I’m curious about how it will perform in practice.
They will be used for wars
I think centralized servos with wire tensioners.
Atlas gives me serious murderbot vibes.
