You take good pictures
Thank ya
Brilliant work! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Great job :). What lens on the optical projector did you use?
Thanks! It’s a built in lens with about a 50mm equivalent focal length.
Amazing work!
Thanks!
Well done, Nathan! Man, I think there's so many good ways to get great shots with one light. Love your work -- keep crushing it!
Thanks Rusty!
Thank you, Nathan!Cool video, we are waiting for the continuation!
Coming soon!
And another banger of a video 😎✌🏾. Nice work Nathan. I appreciate you man.
Thanks buddy. Have a Merry Christmas!
@@NathanElson you do the same man 😊
Hi Nathan, did you use an Iris attachment for the snoot? Great videos as always!
Great tutorial. Thanks a lot for this one. Next time I'm in the studio will try to recreate the lighting. Also have to find a gorgeous model )))
Cheers from Bashkiria
Glad it was helpful!
Stunning work and great video - Love the flow and efficiency of your content!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice photography
Thank ya
I had to sub…. Great content and I must say, I’ve learned a lot.. thanks man and keep up the good work
Thanks for the sub!
Thanks!
Welcome!
Great video Nathan! I just love what you can do with just a simple one light setup. So many variations!
Can't wait for your video next week. Ever so curious where you get your posing cubes.
Thanks so much!
In love with your tether cart. I noticed you had a join on the floor paper. Any reason why? Roll almost out?
Yep, rolled it out and realized I didn't have enough, so I shitty rigged it ;)
Thanks.
A question bro....Is there any particular reason that you have folded the end of the backdrop?
If by folded you mean taped another piece on, it's because I ran out of backdrop :)
ive purchased an optical snoot, theyre amazing great video mate, my issue tho with the one ive purchased is the distance in my space with the lens it came with, but i am able to use other canon lens's that help, tho im finding there is vignetting around the outside of mt light falling on the background, bit of an issue sometimes depending on the lens.
Ya it would be great to see some type of zoom lens as the fixed mount, but I imagine that would drive up the cost substantially.
Another great video Nathan. Those optical snoots do chew up a lot of power - I haven't used mine so far away. It looks like you weren't using a modeling light, so I'm wondering if you had any tricks to get the model into the right spot (no pun intended) or visualize how the shadow would fall? Or was it a matter of trial and error?
I did have the modeling light on but it was really faint. You can see in the video that I was shooting tethered so I had a large screen to show me the final shot right after taking it, so I could make any adjustments needed from that.
nice content... let me ask u smth... with the regular snoot, can i get same image?
I would imagine so yes. Optical snoot just allows for more shape options and you can adjust the sharpness of your shapes.
Hi Nathan, I got a super small space, and still trying to get used to shooting strobes. I was thinking of picking up the Profoto A2 because of its size and simple interface, but I can pick up 3 ad200 pros for the price of the A2. Not that I’d be graduating from a one light setup anytime soon. What would you suggest?
I've honestly not shot with either of those, so I don''t really have any input as to what would be better for you. You do pay a Profoto price tag, but they are solid lights. That said, I know a few people who have the AD200's and love them.
I'm also into the lensed single source at the moment.
Been playing around with the aputure spot as it's bowins mount, and sometimes filling shadow with color.
Great shots, maybe a little too contrasty for my taste, but great indeed:)
Everyone has their preference :) And ya, adding some color into the shadow areas often looks amazing.
Until 1:28 i Was about to yell that there must be a second light. 😅 But fortunately you made this clear ☺️
Haha glad you didn't have to yell :)
Hi, have a qusation, why do you use ISO 800 in studio? ;-)
The optical snoot sucks up a lot of light, so rather than firing my lights at full power and chewing through batteries / slow recycle times, I bump up my ISO when using it since cameras handle high ISO so well nowadays. That’s the only time I shoot high ISO in the studio though.
Just out of curiosity, nothing against it or in favor of it, but do you only photograph women like these? That's like your speciality? Or? And why?
I have a lot of models that reach out to me, 99% of the time they are female, but over the next year I do plan to add more males to my work.
Wondering why the light has to be so far away. What would look different if you moved it closer and lowered the power?
Size of the circle. It’s a fixed lens, so moving it closer makes the spot of light smaller.
🤘🏻
For the second lighting setup, could you have dropped your ISO to 400 instead of changing the flash power?
Definitely, but I opted for the faster recycling time :)
@@NathanElson Ok thanks, I wondered if the recycle time was the reason, thanks for confirming.
Where is the market for this style of photography. Who is the market.
When did creating something start to require a market to sell it to? Sometimes its just about creating.
@@NathanElson Nathan, artist like you are so valuable. You are so right. Sometimes we get caught up in this world and forget to stand back and look at beauty for the reason of the beauty. THANK YOU!!!
Why is Photoshop bad?
Didn't know anyone said it was...
