Yes it sounds like it's running good but tell the owner it definitely could benefit from an advancable timing plate and set it at 4 degrees by far the best bang for your buck

That banshee seems like it has a week cylinder or it’s lagging behind for sure.
It doesn’t seem like it’s hitting as hard on the powerband.

Colors I think are really wild. But they work and look good. The pipes on the yfshee look like they come out wider than they would on a banshee. Still look good. Nice clean quads. 👍🏻

I would love to have either one of these. If I had to choose I think I would go for the yz250. It's a perfect combination.
Awesome builds. I'd say for me that I'd go with the build that has a YZ250 engine. Mainly because an old beat-up YZ250 is easy to get at a fairly decent price and there's loads of mods for them. Where-as even a total pos Trash Queen Banshee goes for way too much money. As for builds, a Raptor frame with a CR500 engine in it sounds like a pretty good idea. Plus you can get an electric start mod for CR500 engines. :)
That's a good point on the motor choice. The CR500/Raptor would be a cool build, I'd use a KX500 motor though!
@@MichaelSabo Either choice is fine imo. I only mentioned the CR500 as there's an electric starter mod you can buy for it. I don't think the KX500 has one that I know of. :)

What's up Mike? I enjoy this bike of the week segment. I like the YZ 250 engine quad more. It's cleaner looking. I can't tell weather the TOOMEY pipes sound right. When I raced in District 6 Hare Scrambles, TOOMEY equipped Banshees sounded like Indy cars.

Deff some sweet bikes right there and I'm actually a subscriber of his too. I've seen the yfshee lol only things I'd really do different would be port work, and send the pipes out for chrome after the weldjng was done. The 250 build I only would have done my own color scheme, other then that man, super clean builds, I could only hope to build bikes that clean!!!

Love these hybrid build. I have always been a bike guy, I have 8 Supermoto bikes that i built my self. I ride them all day every day 365 day a year(a few of the bikes are on my channel) And i live in Norway, and here the winters are bad, like Canada bad. So i was thinking i needed some extra suport when driving winter times. And the only logical thing to do is building a sick quad. Wanting to do something special i found a Aprilia RS 250 engine in amazing shape, and paid next to nothing for it. A guy was doing a covid 19 clean up in his garage and did not know what he had laying around. so i got it for 200$ with all the electronics. So as soon as i find a nice quad rolling chasie it is building time.
That's going to be super unique man, I've never heard on anyone using an Aprilia power plant in a quad; good luck with it!

i do like bike of the week, it helps filling up when you dont have content for the weekly video because sometimes shipping or money can be a problem to make a video every week, kids dont seems to get it... when you dont have sponsors it's hard to buy all these parts just to make a video.. and youtube doesnt pay well if you dont have a shit ton of views so yeah.. bike of the week give us something to watch in the mean time
I’ve got a yz250/yfz450 hybrid I built a few years back and the vibrations are not bad as one would expect and the engine almost seems to be perfectly at home in the chassis. Should have been a factory option !!

Nice build. Nice find Michael. Have you come across any YFZ450R/ Banshee engine hybrids? When I get done with this 93 CR250R frame off, I plan on doing that next. I am going to go full GNCC woods build with single carb, single pipe, and RD400/ long rod engine. It will look like a brand new blue and black YFZ450R from a distance as if it were factory Yamaha.
I'm not sure I've seen anyone use the YFZ450R chassis but the build you're conceptualizing sounds like its going to be primo man
The yellow and blue yamaha has a pipe saver glued to the pipes, common mode on dirt bikes in case you lay them over it wont ding your pipes alll up. Doesnt do much as a heatshield for your leg thou,,

Both super nice builds, the 250 is super clean looking job no doubt. I am also real curious about the vibration on these Hybrid builds with non-counter balanced 2 strokes, or specific ones that do, or do not have real issues, nice video MS. ✌🤘

I'm collecting parts at the moment for a hybrid build, 05' Trx450r chassis, lonestar arms long travel, long travel Peps, lonestar swinging arm, 88' ported Tecate4 motor and pipe, keihin flatslide carb, beadlocks, flexxbars..... I'm getting there

Dude I been watching your videos for the last two years maybe longer ever since the raptor engine rebuild. But man this is the third video of someone else's quads. When is the yz125 coming meat. Maybe some quick flips,
I think that yfz250 is mint! The yfshee is cool too! lol
Both are super nice, love 2strokes. I always wanted to do a 250 motor into a chassis. I think it would have to be bored or built Pretty well to pull the additional weight. 500 would be cool but alot bigger, ideally I think a ktm 300 or 380motor would be perfect but there tough to find.
No doubt a bigger bore would be more impressive but the regular honda TRX250R hauls ass even in a close to stock form so I imagine the YZ250 motor can still get it!
Love a banshee. But that yz250 bike is soooo clean. I have an 07 yfz i was thinking about putting a 89kx500 motor in. Already have both bikes
I’ve got to get some pics to you of my 2009 YFZ 450 Special Edition with a 1995 Banshee motor. My pipes are the master piece of the build and the are not upside down like this bikes pipes are and my frame was not cut at all. The 450 motor can actually bolt right back on if I wanted but I prefer the 2 stroke power myself. I’ll get the pics and some video footage to you shortly and I’d like to hear what you think about it ✌🏼

It sounded more like a 125 that was stifled up than a banshee with T5 pipes but I guess it could be the camera didn’t pick up the sound good or he might of not re packed the pipes to tight

Yeah sounds a bit lazy. I’m curious if it would be a compression related issue or maybe the way the pipes are now it just can’t rev out. Cool swap either way
If I see that I must have missed it but the Wonder did he have to run the torsion bars on the bottom I couldn't tell like I said I might have seen it and maybe I didn't catch it this is really badass?

Sounds like the clutch needs to be adjusted or it's on it's way out , or it's the gearing, that's my thought

how about taking a old school dt250 and dropping a built blaster motor in it? correct me if im mistaken but that motor should drop right in very little to no modifications. buddy of mine has a super clean 79 dt250 and ive been trying to get that bike off him for sometime now. always wanted to try that swap.

I'm a diehard yama.rd 400 .we have same intake boots 2 into 1. Buy my question is where his chamber goes to stinger 1/2 pipe is i think too long . He's loosing power checking it to long. I drag raced rds and you never seen stingers that long.. 8 to 10 inches the most.. food to think on
