  • Max has a couple of new kits to show you today! We were hungry for large scale invaders, and boy did we get what we wanted! We have the 1/32 scale Hobby Boss A-26C Invader in store, as well as a quick unboxing of highly desired ICM 1/48 B-26K Counter Invader, an aircraft that the USAF used in Vietnam. While both the kits are fantastic, when taking a closer look at ICM's K model, it is obvious they refused to phone this kit in. They've made a 'proper' K model, as Max puts it. Meaning you can choose from a range of Invader models to put together, and you'll be left with heaps of parts spare when you're done. If you're keen on checking out either of these fantastic kits, check out the links below:

I'd like to build the "On Mark Engineering A-26 because one of the engineers I used to work with did a large portion of the engineering work on those aircraft. Very cool but the box art looked inaccurate - i remember seeing those aircraft with propellor spinners.

Hobby Boss seem to always get to the 70 percent mark and then drop the ball on detail and accuracy from there. I've got one of their F-18C kits in RAAF markings. If we ignore the fact there was never an F-18C in Australian markings, because our airforce never flew the C model and I knew that going in and to be fair Hobby Boss marked the box as a C model. They made an A model, but didn't use that one, so maybe they changed the tooling to a C? Anyway, there is the little issue that they got the kangaroo around the wrong way on two of the roundels in the kit! This is an anniversary markings subject, so I am left scrambling to find alternative roundels that will be of the correct scale for the tail and one side of the aircraft. There has been no reissue of a sheet as far as I can tell and the kit is still on the shelves - including at Metro Hobby where I got mine from online. Happy to be corrected if there was, a new decal sheet, but this kind of thing from Hobby Boss is just shoddy. QA should have picked up this mistake before they shipped. There just always seems to be something off with this brands releases.
