I was actually reading through the Lore of the Firmament in the core rule book - specifically the Scry evocation - and I got this idea to create a psychic detective kind of character. Say the Scourge’s host was a bit of a stalker and only became possessed when he went off the deep end after being rejected by the object of his fixation. Now the demon - having inherited his body’s obsessive compulsions - uses his powers to find lost items and people; eventually drawing the attention of police when a young woman (the very girl whom his host was infatuated with) is kidnapped.
Mwhahahaha 😈 sounds lovely! And I can see this going so many ways because the character is obsessed with the young woman, maybe she knows he stalks her and is afraid of him, but after possession... his reasons are a little different, he is a Guardian after all 🤔 So it's a blend of obsession and duty. I think this is a very interesting situation to explore in a chronicle 🥰
Honestly dude you've been a great help with digesting all the details I might've otherwise not have been able to grasp in my own initial reading. Rest assured you've earned yet another sub
I'm very happy the episode was of use 😁 Yup, it's good for both storytellers and players to know what they're getting into when it comes to Demon, precisely so they can fine-tune some mechanics that could've been thought out better 😌 Well, my experience is also limited, but I'll gladly share it 😉
This is another one of those power sets that seems to really set the tone for how the devs intended the game to be played. Very neet stuff, and I always love getting to hear your homebrew recommendations as well. DM wisdom must be shared to the masses.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😉 My recommendations and observations, though they don't always come from direct (in-game) experience, come from collaboration with players, which is why my thoughts are: "if my players asked me this question, maybe other players asked their GMs the same thing, so I should include it in the episode". Before a game, we usually ask each other: "So, how does X ability work in your book? Can I do Y with it? Well, it helps me portray this character concept I've been hoping to try for a while. If it can't do that... I need to think about what I'm going to compromise" For instance, I'm going to play a Devourer of the Wild soon, and I'm hoping the GM allows the second/third dot to grow and mature plants permanently, not just for a few turns, because I want my character to live in their car, in the woods on the edge of town. If my character can grow their own food, regardless of season, the concept works and I can play the character as I envisioned them. If not, I can still play into that concept, but the character isn't as independent and self-sustaining as I'd have liked. It's super important that the mechanics are in tune with character concept (and by extension, the player's expectations), and vice-versa. Otherwise, at least 1 person at the table is going to be disappointed when the game begins 😞
will you bring the lore of light at one point? working on a Neberu and your lore videos always flood my mind with incredible ideas ❤, great work nonetheless!
Of couse, of course! We're going to finish the second "round" of Lores episodes with the Lore of the Flame and then start the third "round" from the 1st House to the last 😉 I'm happy to hear! I'll try to record and release more frequently, because it seems a lot of listeners are looking forward to more Lores episodes 🥰
my idea was a Neberu of light that infused color with healing properties essentially creating color therapy, that would mean that by emanating a certain group of colors and managing it's intensity using lore of light i might aid in the healing of wounds or soothing mental derangements and the like, it's not thought of in the lore description (kinda like lore of the wild using plants for combat Rather than anything else) but being a demigod of space fate and light does have it's positives doesn't it? It's a shame the developers only thought about martial applications of certain very interesting lores. But i guess that's where homebrew comes in
Ohh, I can see this is a bit tricky lore. Thank you veeery much for taking the time to explain it to everyone of us that are interested in this amazing game. In truely in love with it but everything is more clear when you explain it
One cool detail about this Lore is the implied relationship with all kinds of connections...like the bond betwin mother and children....or those that connect the organs of the human body... just like the sympathetic connections used by mages...maybe the past...those elohim could see, make, change and unmake all kinds of connections...and considera everything in the world is made of diferent parts interacting with eachother though diferent types of connections...
