Maybe I have missed them, but it would be great to see Mr. Puzikas diagnosing/analyzing the his observations made while viewing a video recording of a self-defense or ‘street fight’ type of scenario. We could learn so much from his shared knowledge on the subject.

Here’s the real issue...as a lawful citizen, I only have to defend against the initial attack (ex. first punch). As a former world class wrestler, in a situation I’d normally be on offense during a confrontation. But in a civilized society, that gets us put in jail. So unfortunately we have a responsibility to allow the violence to unfold on an attackers terms, but only initially. This of course applies only to confrontations without the appearance of deadly weapons. That’s something else entirely. Once there’s physical escalation, all bets are off. The best defense is always avoidance and deescalation, though.
That's why limb destruction is a useful thing. They can throw that first punch and your counter can be nothing but a 'flinch' or block that is really a first strike.
That’s not necessarily true. You are lawfully allowed to use force so long as the imminent threat manifests. You might successfully get a takedown, solidify a position of advantage, and deliver several elbow strikes, for example, prior to even being able to actually gauge whether that the threat has diminished or neutralized. Few would argue the threat is eliminated after the mere first instance of attack.
Hold your hands out as if you're trying to calm the aggressor down while whispering to them that they are a little bitch :) Witnesses will side with you that you were only trying to de-escalate.
