Original Ugin would be my first-pick and it wouldn't be close. Oko at second. Meld Urza is a cool planeswalker that wasn't mentioned. Sometimes I add a planeswalker just for the artwork, like showcase Chandra, Dressed to Kill.
Nahiri, the harbinger. Draw/discard, mediocre removal or a powerfull tutor if ignored. Worst case I draw 2 discard 1 and "gain" 6 life for 4 mana in boros. Thats fine for me.
I actually decided to run it as the commander on my current Dragons deck and has worked out greatly even without much sinergy with dragons: it's 4 mana so I usually drop it turn 2-3 and get a free attack on Boo as a 4/4. Then I usually go back to ramping and just plus Boo without attacking so I have a 7/7 protecting my planeswalker which is almost always enough to survive to turn 5: that's when I usually minus and sacrifice Boo, get rid of a bothersome creature (I.E. the often only flying blocker someone might have) or just face-burn someone then draw 7 and usually have at least a couple of really big dragons come in, sometimes with haste if I managed to get a haste source in the ramping turns. It's a great plan that really propels up those Dragons that usually come in to just wipe out someone or overwhelm the board with treasures, damage, both, etc.
An interesting lack of Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools. I've found that the fact that it has a +2 that defends itself, card advantage, and a game-winning or at least swinging ult makes it an incredibly good Planeswalker in Commander (espc since it also has partner). The fact that the ult returns himself if he dies to do so (which means an additional activation, either making more creatures or sacing another player's commander for more cards) is just silly frankly.
When your playgroup is haunted by an "obnoxious" player, that insists on playing Edgar Markov at least once every frickin time, a Tevesh Szat deck and some one sided politicing to steal that goddamn menace from the command zone is really refreshing now and then
I really find it great that each of your choices resonate with the type of player you are. I was really happy that Rachel talked about Comet but I was screaming until the end for Minsc and Boo, which is one of my favorite cards of all time even if I don't like planeswalkers that much in general. So thank you for that save, Rachel! 😂
Rachel's picks make so much sense given the choices she made in the Equipment Draft. Look at her pick 1 there, then come back here and they all work together with that pick. I'm also very happy that I was able to come up with a list that only missed 4 of the picks made here so I feel pretty good in my Planeswalker evaluation
Another thing to remember about Liliana Dreadhorde General is her ult is a win condition in most cases. So playing her in some decks (such as Carth the Lion) with any way to proliferate out means she just nukes your opponents back to turn 1 basically.
@@hobez64 not necessarily. Many planeswalkers have ults or abilities that don't win or change the game enough in commander because they're more one v one focused. It's why for my Carth deck (which tries to have an ult read either the turn they come down or the next turn) I had to be really choosey about who went in and who didn't because so many of the options you have don't actually further a winning state in a multiplayer format. But Liliana Dreadhorde General definitely does.

I'm surprised that the Eternal Wanderer was not in the early rounds. She's basically a blink/homeward path, a board wipe, and an Elspeth rolled into one. Don't sleep on her! She could be the Brock Purdy of this Planeswalker draft ;)
Before I start the video, off the top of my head, I want Oko, Thief of Crowns, The Eternal Wanderer, Tibalt, Cosmic Imposter (as commander though so I don’t need to pick it?), and Liliana, Dreadhorde General
Yeah, I was shocked to not see The Eteranl Wanderer on here. I've been high on that card since day 1, and I thought people would know how good it is by now.
Not unexpected to have it not be chosen, but Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge is my favorite planeswalker and extremely powerful. Not only does it give affinity for artifacts for creatures, but its +2 ability drains each opponent for how many artifacts you control. Insanely powerful game ender and pretty easy to get 10+ artifacts on the board by the time you drop it. Also, I find Tamiyo, Collector of Tales to be super underrated. Not super threatening when she comes down, but you can mill through your deck looking for a specific card or just get a card back from your graveyard.
Elspeth, Sun's Champion is definitely my number 1 pick. But there's also bias at play there. I started playing MtG in the OG Theros block, she was my first mythic and planeswalker and she helped direct my playstyle of going wide wth tokens.
I love these Draft videos! I have moved 4 times (4 cities in 3 countries) in the past 3 years and have come across wildly different play groups everywhere! These draft videos always show me new powerful cards, some of which I have never seen cast! Here are some ideas of drafts I would love to see: - Auras - Ramp and mana acceleration (especially when it’s not about the most the powerful, but the one you don’t want to be without) - Recursion - combat trick
Love these draft videos! A lot more interesting for me to watch than a normal tier list because you can see everyone’s unique picks and who they leave behind
These are quickly becoming my favorite episodes! Especially because they've got all three of you in them:) I would love to see a draft with dragons or maybe 7+ drops!
This is my kind of episode, I love planeswalkers. My first pick is definitely Ugin the Spirit Dragon since he can go in any deck, and a close number 2 and 3 are Jeska Thrice Reborn and Daretti Scrap Savant.
The static ability PWs are easily the most powerful imo. Time Raveler sits at the top of that heap of brokenness...and i like Narset and Ashiok as strong stax pieces. Out of 9 decks that i own, 5 have PWs... Tezzeret, the Seeker; Vivien, Monsters' Advocate; Teferi, Time Raveler; Narset, Parter of Veils; Liliana of the Last Hope.
This draft episode format is a great way to show the actual way to evaluate a card you might want to play in Commander - is the card powerful and or fun for me, in the kind of decks I want to play? It’s a very subjective question, and this shows it better than a tier list which presents as an objective list but isn’t really
I love the drafts showing the play style mattering most. I struggled between saying The Wandering Emporer (I play a lot of white) and Teferi, Master of Time. Both have fun play sequencing and a usually better staying chance in multiplayer for me
Not gonna lie, I think Rachel made some very, VERY strong picks. I'm a huge Comet Stan. If I had any ones that weren't mentioned here, It'd probably be OG Garruk for being pretty innocuous but surprisingly quick to get him to that overrun, Teferi Temporal Archmage for taking over games when he comes down, or Tezzeret the Seeker because... let's be honest, he is literally just that tutor.
I thoroughly enjoy the draft format, please do more! Ideas: -Boardwipes -MDFCs -Archenemy cards / commanders (things that immediately make you the problem that you LOVE to play) -Cards you would ban from commander maybe?
I'd be partial to Urza, Academy Headmaster in a draft like this. Yes, he's an un-card, and it's nigh-impossible to know what you're getting, and being five colors means few decks can run him, but it is a very elegant design and can be surprisingly powerful.
Thank you for bringing up Domri! He’s so good at 3 mana. Anthem, ramp, uncounterable, and a fight spell. I have it in my Gishath deck and it’s nice cause it just fills so many different niches with one cheap little card. Plus I’ve found that people don’t often heavily prioritize targeting it, especially if you play political and only use the fight to go after big targets, it’s easy to get a player or two on your side for a bit.
1 Liliana, Dreadhorde General 2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion 3 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon 4 Nissa, Who Shakes the World 5 Garruk, Primal Hunter HM Ugin, the Ineffable
I play: -Nissa, who shakes the world -Jianggu, Yanggu Wild Crafter -Oko, thief of crowns -Darretti -3 different sorins (lol like black and my vamps) - Arlinn, Voice of the Pack Might be a few more but these are the ones that came to mind I have Comet but haven't played him yet, recently acquired
The way I play Planeswalkers is to use them as a distraction to my opponent(s) They often come in handy for a quick upside by minusing them and then they draw a lot of attention while I'm working to build my board. The interesting thing is they mostly end up as fodder but sometimes they have turned the tide for myself or another opponent. Opportunity given, especially in commander can put you on top especially if they give some type of evasion. I'm sure everyone has their own preference, but I try to throw at least one synergistic Planeswalker into a lot of my decks. Thanks for the video. Always enjoy.
Strategy with snake draft is really fun. It’s one of the really unique parts about catan. I actually prefer going 2nd in this format (with 3 people), even tho you don’t get the best in pick one, but you don’t get the worst in pick 3 or 6. Your right in the middle
I really like Vivian champion of the wilds. You play it and it can protect its self by giving a creature reach, or you can do the better option of negative and get a creature, which you can cast whenever. So many times I’ve been empty handed and had that extra creature draw save me since it avoided discard spells etc. Oh and obviously the flash is really good.
If Iearned anything watching this I learned I value combo walkers over all lol, ral storm conduit, professor onyx, and lab man Jace were my top three hahaha
Top 3 picks for me based on my current decks: Ugin The Spirit Dragon, Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools and Teferi, Hero of Dominaria (definitely surprised more people aren't talking about this one).
Venser, the Sojourner! It flickers any permanent (even other Planeswalkers) giving ETB strats and even pseudo vigilance, and minus ability can win you games making your creatures unblockable, and the ultimate is back breaking.
I may be biased because I got him in the XBOX edition for free back in the day, but I love the original Garruk Wildspeaker. +1 to untap 2 lands (preferably bounce, Nykthos, Cradle, Itlimoc etc.) is making him basically a free cast and great value piece in the right hands. -1 for a 3/3 Beast and -4 for an overrun effect are also not the worst things that can happen to a combat focused deck. Sure, by far not the most powerful card ever printed, but it's putting in good work in many decks and is almost always not identified as super threatening until it is too late
Oko Chandra, awakened inferno Koth fire of resistance Nicol bolas, dragon god Tezzeret, betrayer of flesh Honorable mention Tezzeret master of the bridge Space balleran
My list would have been 1. Karn, the great creator 2. Tyvar, jubilant brawler 3. Teferi. Master of time 4. Oko, thief of crowns 5. Grist, hunger tide 6. Garruk, cursed huntsman 7. Nissa, vital force 8. Wren and six 9. Wren and relmbreaker 10. Nissa, who shakes the world 11. Ral, storm conduit 12. The eternal wanderer 13. Gideon, ally of zendicar 14. Vivian, champion of the wilds 15. Ellywick tumblestrum
After watching the previous two iterations, I made a list of what I would pick. My selections(only 5, in no alphabetical order since I'm not actually drafting): Chandra, Torch of Defiance Jace, Vryn's Prodigy Narset, Parter of Veils Teferi, Time Raveler Ugin, the Ineffable It's kind of comforting to know that I'm in the mix with you guys. And my list here is specific to Commander, because it's pretty rare for me to put a planeswalker in a deck. This would look a lot different for me should we be talking Oathbreaker, which has become a regular night-ender for my playgroup's sessions.
1: Grist, the Hunger Tide 2: Ugin, the Ineffable 3: Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler 4: Vivien, Champion of the Wilds 5: Tyvar Kell This is super bias towards 3 of my 4 decks. The 4th is Carth so I would have to build a different deck under this premise 😂 Also Rachel wins by my metric of grindy value 😁
oooo, big miss here. Nissa, Worldwaker is probably the best monogreen planeswalker. Its essentially free. Mono green will frequently be tapping lands for more than 1, so its ramp in those cases. You'll probably have blockers, but people always underestimate it, so I've rarely seen it attacked. When if utls, it almost always wins the game on the spot.
I was hoping that Elminster would make the cut. It's my favorite planeswalker commander. It has a static ability, draws, scrys, and let's you create creatures. Love it!
There is a reason my Instant and Sorceries deck is lead by Ovika. I like that i get creatures for casting my value and still get to cast a thousand spells/copies.
Ugin, Elspeth and Liliana are honestly like the big 3, the best walkers in commander period. After them they all just drop to generically good or super strong but niche. Like Daretti is absolutely a must run for any artifact strat in red, but any other strat just doesn't care at all. Me personally? I would have put some priority on the Origins transform Nissa and God Bolas. Bolas cause he may be restricted to Grixis but being every walker at the same time and lead to stupidly broken things depending on the boardstate. And the transform Nissa because her creature side is ramp and her walker side will plus to either ramp you or draw a card and then minus for a big 4/4 token. Plus like Grist, she can easily be looped for value. She's an auto include in any reanimation strat with green i play because of it.
i really like this draft format! What would be cool is if each of you guys could draft a 99 card EDH deck from a select pool of cards and then play those decks in the next game knights or extra turns!
pre video my 15 guesses are. Static Narset, Lilliana dreadhorde, nissa shakes world, ugin ineffable, at least 1 chandra, jeska thrice, jace with the static wincon, the other ugin, flip bolas/ravager, tevish szat, sorin Markov, new exiling ashiok, the vraska that kills someone when deathtouch hits, 3 cmc elk oko, and finally... the garruk that can -3 immediately to draw cards equal to a creature's power. Sorry im bad with names.
I love Planewalkers, always try to have at least one that makes sense in my decks. I have played the Planewalkers Party precon with upgrades (with a lot of BW) and always give a good fight to my friends. Now, I am focusing on making Super Friends version, and I am very excited 😁 Maybe I do not win all the time, but I definitely have a good time.
hmmm for my list my picks would be 1.Ellywick Tumblestrum 2.Sorin Vengeful Blood Lord 3.Wrenn, and Realm Breaker 4.commodore, Guff 5.Karn, the Great Creator
8 mana Ugin, Lilly, Dreadhorde General (For that Amano art, I am weak), The Eternal Wanderer (For its killer boardwipe, self defense and ULTRASICK phyrexian-ized art.), Sorin Markov (Pet card, "set to 10" is a 6 mana DEAL THIRTY in commander sometimes), and my favorite and holy crap is he dummy powerful. Tezzeret, Master of the Bridge. Shit out robits and immediately crash the table. I love him.
Nicol Bolas the Ravager, Oko Theif of Crowns, Elspeth Suns Champion, Kaya the Inexorable, Ashiok Nightmare Muse would be my picks but I also really like Zariel Archduke of Avernus, Ashiok Sculptor of Fears, Dihada Binder of Wills, Nicol Bolas God Pharaoh, Grand Master of Flowers, and Vronos Masked Inquisitor.
I put Elspeth Sun's Champion in a Brago deck with mostly 3 or less power creatures that makes a lot of tokens. I'll slam this, board wipe, blink it, then tick up.
Something to keep in mind is how some planeswalkers will just end the game if they stick long enough to ult. Chances are low that you get there, but it’s still a chance you just win with the card in x turns. There’s a difference between the best walkers for any deck any time and the best ones for a walker deck. Ults are a lot more achievable in decks with doubling season, proliferation, protection, or other shenanigans. A planeswalker I like that does some of both the og Sorin Markov, if you need it to come down and end the problem player then it will and if you’re the problem player then it’s a distraction that gains buffer life and picks off creatures that will win on its own if unanswered.
Based on a combination of how many decks I play them in and how long I've been playing them in certain decks, I think I'd put my 5 I draft as this. Ugin, the Spirit Dragon Liliana, Dreadhorde General Venser, the Sojourner Wrenn and Seven Koth of the Hammer
I know shes not the best, but I'm a fan of Chandra, Awakened Inferno. Can't be countered, and as her plus ability she gives everybody an emblem that pings them on their upkeep. Even just a couple of those can be great, and my deck that runs her has Worldfire as a wincon, which she guarentees will kill everybody.
Idk if you guys have done this episode before, but I think a video where each of you explain your thought process when building deck would be great. All three sit down one talks about your process and you guys can even challenge each others deck building strategies
Underrated walkers, IMHO: flip Nissa, baby Jace (I'm biased because I've had a book promo of the card for years and the art is dope), OG Huatli, Liliana of the Dark Realms.
Pretended I was at the 4 seed in the draft and played along. My picks were 1. Oko, thief of crowns 2. Nissa, who shakes the world 3. Grist, the hungertide 4: tezzeret, the seeker 5: jeska, thrice reborn
Lol I immediately thought of Jace, Vryn's Prodigy too. Such a classic card. I remember opening it at an Origins draft event and it instantly became one of my favorite blue cards.
Surprised that Karn, the Great Creator didn’t get a mention. Sure, it’s mean, but it’s one of the best ways to shut down treasures, and the minus can get something back from exile. And the plus can help remove something if you’ve got artifact removal in hand.
As an older player and a naya (mono, paired or all 3 colors) mage almost exclusively, my top 5 would be #1 ajani, the great hearted (gain life, +1 counters, Planeswalker benefits, plus vigilance is highly underrated), #2 garruk, primal hunter (+1 make a 3/3 every turn, -2 draw cards normally 3-6, or -6 pretty much win the game), #3 domri, anarch of bolas (ramp, creature spell protection, anthem and fight i find the ramp/ spell protection is also underrated in creature heavy decks), #5 Nissa, vastwood seer (hit those land drops, then ramp/card draw, protects with a beefy token) #5 is tough but I'll go with a pet card that is a game ender in the right deck ajani, strength of the pride. If you thought cyclonic rift was bad in a stalemate situation, does this ultimate get any crazier? Honorable mention to, basri ket, xenagos the reveler, garruk wildspeaker, selesnya huatli, and elspeth tirel
My top five PWs are Dreadhorde, OG Ugin, Ineffable Ugin, Elspeth Sun's Champion, and Garruk Cursed Huntsman. I'm considered the planeswalker guy in my local play group, so I love this episode of Command Zone. Guys, somebody should run a super-freinds deck on Game Knights. Please make it happen! I used to play a Golos deck with his ability to dump walkers out. Super sad when that card got banned. It was my first and favorite deck.
Ashiok, Dream Render shutting down so many cards in commander with its static ability is one that I would rank pretty high. If the player who controls it can protect it, the other players at the table will quickly learn how oppressive it is not to be able to search their libraries.
@@TheSmartCinema as I said. The card is plenty powerful on its own. High loyalty. 4 ridiculously strong abilities. If you're playing ugin in grixis colors, dragon God is just as good if not the better choice a lot of the time
Should have mentioned how incredible Grist is now with Agathas soul caldren. Targetable as a creature then turns each of your creatures with a counter being a plainswalker too. Busted
My personal top picks are Dreadhord General, Ashiok Dream Render and Narset Parter of Veils. I've got a personal issue with reanimator, so I like to shut those down. Parter of Veils and Dreadhorde General are just good.
I'm surprised no one picked Elspeth Tirel. her -3 makes 3 tokens, her ultimate is a boardwipe that destroys everything but her, lands and tokens and her +1 gains you life for each creature you control, so good in token decks.
I think a sleeper planeswalker is big Chandra (awakened inferno I think). Creating an emblem, for each opponent, that deals damage every turn, that can’t be interacted with, and stacks, could be pretty prominent
Card kingdom didnt have Minsc and something after the comma, must be a skill issue My top 5 1. Jace the Mind Sculptor 2. Splashiok, Nightmare Weaver 3. Vraska the Unseen 4. Nicol Bolas Dragon God 5. Chandra Torch of Defiance Honorable mention: Garuuk, Apex Predator
This episode was definitely missing the big timmy energy. Nissa who shakes the world immediately gets my first pick, but Garruk primal hunter also deserves a mention.

Ugin the Spirit Dragon. Can't go wrong with a colorless board wipe that you can easily ramp into. Plus it exiles so do death triggers
I really enjoy this framing device for ranking and discussing cards. So much more interesting than the ubiquitous tier list.
I cannot say enough how strong Rachel is as part of the command zone team. Always insightful, entertaining, and professional.
I can not stress enough how helpful these episodes are, sometimes it's good to hear how people play/think about how cards fit into strategies
Minsc & Boo was picked by Rachel's Aggro-playing alter-ego, Rachel Days.
I actually decided to run it as the commander on my current Dragons deck and has worked out greatly even without much sinergy with dragons: it's 4 mana so I usually drop it turn 2-3 and get a free attack on Boo as a 4/4.
1 Liliana, Dreadhorde General
2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion
3 Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
4 Nissa, Who Shakes the World
5 Garruk, Primal Hunter
HM Ugin, the Ineffable
I will watch every fantasy draft video you guys make!
I play:
-Nissa, who shakes the world
-Jianggu, Yanggu Wild Crafter
-Oko, thief of crowns
-Darretti
-3 different sorins (lol like black and my vamps)
- Arlinn, Voice of the Pack
Might be a few more but these are the ones that came to mind
I have Comet but haven't played him yet, recently acquired
I love that Rachel did not ignore the best boy. Comet has been insanely good for me. More people need to jam that one and realize the truth.
You’re a believer in Grist? A Gristian, perhaps?
Oko
Chandra, awakened inferno
Koth fire of resistance
Nicol bolas, dragon god
Tezzeret, betrayer of flesh
Honorable mention
Tezzeret master of the bridge
Space balleran
My list would have been
1. Karn, the great creator
2. Tyvar, jubilant brawler
3. Teferi. Master of time
4. Oko, thief of crowns
5. Grist, hunger tide
6. Garruk, cursed huntsman
7. Nissa, vital force
8. Wren and six
9. Wren and relmbreaker
10. Nissa, who shakes the world
11. Ral, storm conduit
12. The eternal wanderer
13. Gideon, ally of zendicar
14. Vivian, champion of the wilds
15. Ellywick tumblestrum
You all have inspired me to pick magic up and can not appreciate yall enough. Keep up the great work guys
After watching the previous two iterations, I made a list of what I would pick. My selections(only 5, in no alphabetical order since I'm not actually drafting):
Chandra, Torch of Defiance
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
Narset, Parter of Veils
Teferi, Time Raveler
Ugin, the Ineffable
It's kind of comforting to know that I'm in the mix with you guys. And my list here is specific to Commander, because it's pretty rare for me to put a planeswalker in a deck. This would look a lot different for me should we be talking Oathbreaker, which has become a regular night-ender for my playgroup's sessions.
1: Grist, the Hunger Tide
2: Ugin, the Ineffable
3: Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler
4: Vivien, Champion of the Wilds
5: Tyvar Kell
This is super bias towards 3 of my 4 decks. The 4th is Carth so I would have to build a different deck under this premise 😂
Also Rachel wins by my metric of grindy value 😁
oooo, big miss here.
“Allow me to introduce myself” -Urza,Academy Headmaster
Torch of Defiance would have been my #1, so I am glad you mentioned her at the end.
My first pick would definitely be Nissa, Ascended Animist. All three abilities are great and impactful. And you can use the ultimate right away
i know for sure Loth spider queen would made my list , underrated
i really like this draft format!
Chandra, Awakened Inferno. Sweeps small things, but more importantly puts a clock on the table while going to 8 loyalty on turn 1.
I love Planewalkers, always try to have at least one that makes sense in my decks. I have played the Planewalkers Party precon with upgrades (with a lot of BW) and always give a good fight to my friends. Now, I am focusing on making Super Friends version, and I am very excited 😁 Maybe I do not win all the time, but I definitely have a good time.
hmmm for my list my picks would be
1.Ellywick Tumblestrum
2.Sorin Vengeful Blood Lord
3.Wrenn, and Realm Breaker
4.commodore, Guff
5.Karn, the Great Creator
This fantasy draft series is so good please do a mono color one!
Glad you like it! We have LOTS more categories to come!
I put Elspeth Sun's Champion in a Brago deck with mostly 3 or less power creatures that makes a lot of tokens. I'll slam this, board wipe, blink it, then tick up.
1. Garruk, Primal Hunter
2. Garruk, Primal Hunter
3. Garruk, Primal Hunter
4. Garruk, Primal Hunter
5. Garruk, Primal Hunter
Ugin, the Spirit Dragon
Liliana, Dreadhorde General
Venser, the Sojourner
Wrenn and Seven
Koth of the Hammer
I know shes not the best, but I'm a fan of Chandra, Awakened Inferno. Can't be countered, and as her plus ability she gives everybody an emblem that pings them on their upkeep. Even just a couple of those can be great, and my deck that runs her has Worldfire as a wincon, which she guarentees will kill everybody.
Rachel’s honorable mention Domri is very underrated! Anthem, ramp, repeatable removal and it doesn’t usually draw tons of hate
Idk if you guys have done this episode before, but I think a video where each of you explain your thought process when building deck would be great. All three sit down one talks about your process and you guys can even challenge each others deck building strategies
I don’t foresee anyone picking a Garruk card, but Garruk is so much fun to play with in commander. He has 2-4 that are incredible in creature decks
Literally the only planeswalker i play is garruk primal hunter and I play it in like most green decks
Oko, thief of crowns
2. Nissa, who shakes the world
3. Grist, the hungertide
4: tezzeret, the seeker
5: jeska, thrice reborn
I would pick: Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God, Narset of the Ancient Way, Urza, Planeswalker, Archangel Elspeth, Tamiyo, the Moon Sage
As an older player and a naya (mono, paired or all 3 colors) mage almost exclusively, my top 5 would be
#1 ajani, the great hearted (gain life, +1 counters, Planeswalker benefits, plus vigilance is highly underrated), #2 garruk, primal hunter (+1 make a 3/3 every turn, -2 draw cards normally 3-6, or -6 pretty much win the game), #3 domri, anarch of bolas (ramp, creature spell protection, anthem and fight i find the ramp/ spell protection is also underrated in creature heavy decks), #5 Nissa, vastwood seer (hit those land drops, then ramp/card draw, protects with a beefy token) #5 is tough but I'll go with a pet card that is a game ender in the right deck ajani, strength of the pride. If you thought cyclonic rift was bad in a stalemate situation, does this ultimate get any crazier? Honorable mention to, basri ket, xenagos the reveler, garruk wildspeaker, selesnya huatli, and elspeth tirel
Big fan of the draft format
Someone has never been hit by Nicol Bolas Dragon God and Displacer Kitten and it shows.
I think the kitten is the broken part of that equation
@@2ntwins they're both integral to the combo and dragon God is just fine on his lol. Does everything you want in a commander walker.
if they had to analyze cards based on how well they combo with other cards, it would be way too tedious and difficult
Then Jace, Cunning Castaway would finally get the recognition infinite castaways deserves
Notably, Comet also gets around Hexproof and Ward when dealing damage.
Surprised no one has mentioned Karn, the Great Creator. The ability to shut down all of your opponents’ mana rocks is super powerful all by itself.
Also the old school secret lair drop of Dack Fayden is gorgeous.
Who ever designed the thumbnail for this one, I just want you to know that you made my day
I'm glad you like it! - Rachel
Also the semi boardwipe can be verry good depending on the table/playgoup
My guess is when rachel is done playing commander, she’s been sleeving up gruul/naya monsters in canlander based on what grabbed her interest :)
Card kingdom didnt have Minsc and something after the comma, must be a skill issue
My top 5
1. Jace the Mind Sculptor
2. Splashiok, Nightmare Weaver
3. Vraska the Unseen
4. Nicol Bolas Dragon God
5. Chandra Torch of Defiance
Honorable mention: Garuuk, Apex Predator
Tezzeret, Master the bridge is one of my favorites because I do play a fair few artifact decks. And he just nukes everyone
I see you Rachel picking some of my favorite canlander-playable cards.
This episode was definitely missing the big timmy energy. Nissa who shakes the world immediately gets my first pick, but Garruk primal hunter also deserves a mention.
With each pick of Josh I feel an increasing urge to take him out first in every game.
