This is a cool version of this song. She has a haunting voice, which really gives the song a different feel. The banjo makes it sound creepy, which I really dig. 10 out of 10.
Before anyone decides to copy/paste from other reaction vids, yes, it is her father on slide (not lapsteel) guitar; no, its not her brother Nash on lead/harmonies, its Brandon Dodd; and no, there is no evidence that Eminem has seen this version, let alone "gave his permission to put it on spotify". Eminiem doesnt even hold the rights to this song anymore, and you dont need anyones 'permission' to post covers.
Chambers was required to inform the owners of Lose Yourself of her intention to put it on Spotify. She has to pay royalties and if she wants to see the song on Spotify in some countries including the US a licence is needed. It is not as simple as you imply.
@@davidcarter4247 yes. It is that simple. It’s a compulsory mechanical license. You inform (notice of intent to cover), pay the fee/royalties. Regardless, the common apocryphal sentiment in these videos of ‘it’s on Spotify, therefore he saw it and approved it’ is a complete and utter non sequitur with zero supporting evidence, and a mountain of reality against it.

Kasey Chambers is an Australian legend: the youngest person to be inducted into the Australian Music Hall of Fame, a dozen albums and has more than 30 ARIA Awards (the AU Grammy's). She is beloved but is ignored by radio and was shunned by Sony. She's been performing in her father's band since she was 12 years old (her brother is backing vocals and her dad is on the steel guitar on stage here). She had some pop hits in the 90s but her heart and soul is Country in her own style. She wanted to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this song because she loves Eminem, and she had the time to rearrange and compose this masterpiece during lockdown. She is showing so much emotion because she has lived this to a degree as well. She is now 48 years old and a mother of three. This recording is the first time it was ever performed live and was done at the end of the concert. They thought it went well, so they used the recording from the sound desk and asked their fans who were in attendance to provide any footage they had to composite this one together. While there has been no public approval from Em, she has been allowed to put this song up on Spotify without copyright challenge.
Holy shit man. I’ve loved Casey chambers for a long time and this is probably the greatest shit ever. She’s getting better with age. Love your reaction bro!
Damn! That's how you do a cover. I've heard of Kasey, when I used to live in Australia, seeing her pick up many awards but musically it wasn't my thing back then. I absolutely appreciate the talent, to change such an iconic track and one of Eminem's biggest hits. 🤯🤘Your channel always hits with some unexpectedly awesome surprises, cheers Tommy!

Great reaction mate. She leaves it all out there every single time - just embraces all the life, love and pain, and puts it all out there in every song. 'Ain't no little girl' - live at Bluegrass Underground is another passionate performance - though not metal, sorry - but well worth a listen.

People will tell you to listen to “Pretty Enough” which was her f u to radio stations who refused to play her first album “The Captain”. The album was critically acclaimed but not commercially played. I would advise something different if you get put off by nasal tones (I don’t but some do) & go for something off her “Rattlin Bones” album or “Ain’t no Little Girl” and if you still enjoy her listen to pretth enough. She has the best story telling ability through her music & voice. ❤

I REALLY like this. Easily one of the best, if not THE best cover songs I've ever heard. Do yourself a favour and don't bother looking into the rest of her stuff, it's crap Australian country rubbish and you'll be sorely disappointed. Unless you're into very ordinary Australian country music, which I'm not because it's f'ing shit!
