Being able to showcase other footage that didn't make the "final" delivery is great, sometimes we still have gems in what we capture but they get stored away in our hard drives :(
christ. that was so dope. as a beginner editor, and looking at this, its kinda hard to no compare myself. but i will not stop until a reach that level of expertise with filmmalking and editing. thx for the inspiration. shout out from brazil :D
Aye that’s a genius idea! I’ve done that once, going back to old footage and honestly it was a lot of fun and the story comes across different than I probably originally wanted to tell it! Dang bro now you got my wheels spinning and wanting to go through my hard drives hahah! Dope video 👌🏾
Great reminder! I NEED to do this more often. Question though, do you share any of your director's cuts when technically it's the clients footage? Do you ever share with them?
Do it!! Yes however, t's always important to obtain client permission to utilize the footage. I more often than not DO share the director's cut with the client. In most cases they're hyped on it and would reshare if they can!
Can you share your approach to using music from SoundCloud? Are you just reaching out to the artist and licensing directly, or is there a different approach?
By going the extra mile, does that include NOT paying your crew? You have all this extravagant portfolio, top of the line gear, numerous laborers... yet you don't pay your crew.
Not sure what previous projects you're referring to! I pay everyone to the best of my ability no matter the project. If someone chooses to donate time to something I'm working on, I always go out of my way to return the favor. Sounds like you may have had a bad experience. I'm sorry about that!
I love these videos, it fires me up to see y’all collabing and sharing solid BTS. Time to get creative! Cheers boys
Yoo thank you Jeff! Always a blast bring in friends to make something happen
I love your story telling
Appreciate this

Yeah… I got too much footage lost in the hard drives
5:32 - 5:33 sec - hey could i ask how was this multiple screen effect done? Was it a preset / transition? Thank you! Awesome content btw
Message @jackbotti on Instagram and maybe he'll have an answer for you!
where's the finished video?
The final directors cut is at 5:10
If it's unapproved y the client , exactly how are you able to use it?

You ever have overflow work you need edited. Hit me up. I live right outside Portland in Newberg.

Jack, the editor for this director's cut was paid. Thanks for your concern, but I do treat all of my collaborators fairly.
@@RyanKao Good for Jack. What about all the previous projects where you did NOT pay folks?
