Mic Dundee is my spirit animal
Wish DUNDEE with Hemsworth and M. Robbie was actually being made instead of fake trailers
The way she looks at him is genuine. They married after hooking up during the filming.
My guess is #1 and #2 were named based on their frequency of use.
Mate, traveling overseas as an Aussie is ridiculous. Although school, in the north east Czech Republic, 5 years after communism ended was another level. Girls were jostling with each other to walk arm in arm with me after my first day. Four girls walked three miles home from the 'disco' with me turning down lifts from guys in cars the whole way. Hitchhiking was very normal but they asked "Can Endy come?" Always no from the driver, always no from the girls. I didn't take any of them home, I was still on my V plates and too shy. That fact pretty much guarantees this is a true story.
"that's not a knife, THAT'S a knife" is the line that always gets quoted from this movie.
That's a spoon 🥄
@@noelramirez1551 Alright, alright. You win. I see you've played 'Knifey Spoony' before.
No one seems to notice the Cop hands him back his Giant Knife when he drops him back at the hotel.
It almost always gets misquoted as "this is a knife" instead of "that's a knife".
Catchprhase of the era.
Here's a couple that clearly didn't grow up in the 80s! 🤣👍🏻✌🏼
No way a women in a relationship hooks up with somone else overseas. Never heard of that before, shocking 😂😂😂
She brought her hookup all the way home to America to meet her boyfriend. Neither one of the guys knew they were getting played. She gets proposed to by her boyfriend but in true female fashion, she ditches him for the man who turned his back on her to go walkabout.
@@PhantomFilmAustralia ah yes, lets paint all females with the same brush. i think we have a word for that.
Keep watching the 80's and 90's. Best movies!
Crocodile Dundee 2 is a great sequel. Ìt switched genres to more of an action/adventure and did it very well.
Yep definitely one of my favorite of the two movies, and a good sequel worth watching!
and you'll hear some Spanish!
They met on the set of this show but ended up getting Married in real life during part 2 I think? So the chemistry was real!!!!!!
it didn't end well though , if i recall right she later left and he ended up taking care of her kid and think he wasn't his and the kid was a real hassle /trouble maker.
That man is a national treasure!
@dasta7658 As an American I'd say he's an International Treasure.
Pump your brakes kid!!...that man is a national treasure
Kangaroos are considered pests, they outnumber us roughly 2:1. It's not illegal to shoot them, however there are professional shooters on outback properties who hunt them for trade purposes (meat, leather etc.). They have to stick to strict numbers set by out national parks service to ensure they don't cause the populations to decline too far. The property I grew up on, per year it was something like 3500 red kangaroos & 5000 greys
If you want to view more classic Aussie films, Crocodile Dundee 2 is pretty good, but I definitely recommend 1997's The Castle or 2000's The Wog Boy. Both classic underdog movies
And The Dish (2000)
At the time Crocodile Dundee set the record for the highest grossing Australian film ever. Maybe now you should see Young Einstein, starring Yahoo Serious, the movie that dethroned Crocodile Dundee.
Because you can't own guns
@@donaldjz you say that like it's a bad thing
@@monkeyzorr3090 Also completely wrong
After this movie Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski got married, made another Croc movie, and then basically went back to Australia where Paul Hogan was almost a National spokesman since the early 70s. "Put another shrimp on the barbee!" was a quote from one the commercials he used to do.
They also did a 3rd movie in the early 2000s which was watchable.
Mick Dundee is a national treasure.
The sequel was pretty good but the 3rd movie was terrible.
Agree. 3rd movie is awful
Yall are correct but my boy liked it so even if only got 2 stars in my 5 star system it made him happy.😊
I loved the 3rd movie
i like the 3rd one. its not as good as the first 2 but its still a fun watch.
There's a 3rd one? Is that the one where Colin Quinn takes him around New York?
The Last Starfighter (1984) has everything 80’s that people love about 80’s movies. While Star Wars and Star Trek were the best sci-fi movies at the time, looking back, The Last Starfighter is just as good.
One of my favorites that didn't get the love it deserved.
Rode a ski lift with the two of them in the 90s. They couldn’t have been nicer people!
Cant wait to see your reaction to Dundee 2❤🎉
25:32 That's called the "fish out of water" trope, it's a really popular thing in movies, where a character shown to be heroic or " bad ass" in one element has to make their way in a completely different or opposite one.
17:42 -- He thought it was sinus congestion medicine, so he poured it all into hot water to turn into a congestion steamer.
This one is good. In my opinion, the sequel is better. Good reaction. Yes she had a problem keeping her guys straight. It's resolved in the sequel and you get more Australia in #2. Hogan was a hero/star in Australia after the release even more than before.
Definitely watch Crocodile Dundee II is has more action and is back in the bush.
Long live Michael J. "Crocodile" Dundee.
It's taken me almost 30 years to get this joke; when Mick is talking about being raised by a local tribe, he says they told him he was born "in the summertime". However, it's pretty much summer all year round in Australia!
Dang did the studio make you edit it down so far? This is one of the most highly edited movies I've seem on this channel so far.
Tomorrow is Anzac Day (April 25th) and after this movie Paul Hogan was part an amazing 10 hr miniseries 1988 "Anzac's: The War Down Under" which Honors those who fought and died in world war 1 , another good show "Anzac Girls" covers the nurses in WW1
He wasn't shooting at people. If he was, he would have hit the people.
Love this movie, grew up watching it with my Dad...❤
The sequel really is worth watching!
Paul Hogan has alot of charisma. He made a movie called "Almost an Angel" that I also liked growing up.
Quigley down under is a great Australian Western movie. Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman
He actually left his wife (in real life) and they wind up getting married.....
And then she divorced him. He could do better.😊
Casey trying to say "Catch a charge" and ended up saying "catch a sentence"....lol
I don't feel like Sue is so much making a choice, as realizing that there is a choice she could make. The story presents her in a relationship where she "loves" a man with competence, status, money and parental approval - everything we are told women are attracted to. Initially, she doesn't want to blow up her life over a holiday romance, but then starts to see the real values she is responding to in Dundee.
Many people "settle" for what is convenient or what other people tell them is the right choice. This story is about an emotional response to values in another person - which is what love is.
I love Kacee's Spanglish: "like the Monte".😂
YES! "monte" is exactly what it is! I looked for years for an English word for Monte.
Wooo!!, this is one of my favorite movies from the childhood, and i remember i used to watch it with my grandfather.
There’s twice as many kangaroos in Australia than people
Reginald VelJohnson is a true hero he saved mick and he saved John McClane
I absolutely adore this movie.
You guys are awesome 💯😎 love your videos!
It's so cute when a couple both have a goofy laugh🤣
So glad you guys could enjoy this. Some channels get angry at 80's movies like this for not being "progressive" enough. I'm not going to name names.... but they are some reel rejects for sure.
Good thing you didn't name any names...
I get upset when people judge movies in the past by today's progression and at the same time wonder why the lack of comedies in the movies today. Because the ones that were made b4 2000's will get destroyed if they were made today.
LOL I can't stand Reel Rejects.
@msfeistybabe well yea that was the joke. I did name names. They were offended that a movie about the civil war had racism in it. And they hated Crocodile Dundee. Obviously we all know it's not ok to grab someone's crotch. But it's funny within the context of the movie. I'm just saying I wish some people would lighten up a little.
I love this movie, it was a huge deal when it came out. The sequel is just as good if not better :)
Hahaha love this reaction
Need kacee's reaction on Training day, Prisoners and korean Old Boy, American hustle, Godfather triology.
Dundee is actually Scottish, a place name meaning Fort on the Tay (River). Plenty of Scot and Scots/Irish settlers in Australia. Paul and Linda in real life got married a few years after this and stayed together for 24 years. When Mick walks on top of the people, it's inspired by something you'll see growing up in the Outback - when the sheep get herded into a dense pack for shearing or whatever, the sheepdogs will typically hop up and run around on their backs, keeping them going the right way. Check out CD2, it's worth it - but #3 sucks.
He *was* covered by the bubbles, but seeing "Rosita" was about to cause another "that's not a ____" situation.
Besides the sequel check out 2 other Paul Hogan movies...almost an angel and lightning jack!
Relieved to see Anthony back for the last couple. I was starting to think you were now Un Cavazo
I thought it would be una Cavaza.
Great reaction! Childhood favorite of mine. You gotta watch part 2. It is awesome!
“I kissed you girl in the bush”.... PHRASING!
“In the bush” 😂
i love both Dundee movies
Paul Hogan was married when making this film. When he and Linda Kozlowski met during filming they fell in love and got married soon after.
Since I spent jr high and high school in the Amazon, I can relate to some elements of Dundee in NYC.
What a film!!! Watch number 2 aswell, it’s so good!!!
Yep she’s Carmen!!!
Mick saved her life just before that first kiss
Fun Fact I often use a Swiss army knife to touch up my shave job because store bought razors does a poor job in some areas. Only the discontinued tracer models with the fex blade ever did a good job. The knife has a curve that gets in places that no straight blade can.
"prabably marching right now for the gay nazis or something".... this movie actually predicted the future, that is crazy!
Bravo.
Maybe they like the double stuff.
You'll never see that NYC skyline in person anymore. Iconic
i haven't watched this movie in a while. love it.
Now you have to watch part two!
This movie started a weird temporary obsession with everything Australian in North America.
There was even a movie, Shrimp on the Barbie, starring Cheech Marin, which was nothing but an excuse to use that line, taken from something Paul Hogan said in a TV commercial for Australian tourism, in the title.
Crocodile Dundee II is a great sequel you should watch it. It less of a comedy and more of an action movie but I think you'll love it.
In real life, Paul Hogan (Mick) left his wife for Linda Kozlowski (Sue) during the filming of this movie.
Thanks y’all , as fun now as it was then😊👍✌️🇺🇸
I was aware of Paul Hogan as he like Benny Hill and David Allen, all performed 1/2 hour skit based comedy shows. The independent station would run these at 11:00pm as a news alternative and I became familiar with all three though I knew Benny Hill's show already. Anyone finding Paul Hogan entertaining should look up his 'Paul Hogan Show' here on RUclips. Like Tim Allen whom toned down his stand-up routine for prime time TV, Crocodile Dundee is a very tame version of his TV show.
They have great chemistry because they're married in real life. The 2nd movie is great too.
I don’t think you guys realize that they only knew each other for about two weeks. The first week was in Australia, where yeah, she cheated on her boyfriend and kissed him after a near death experience, and she kissed the guy who saved her life. Then they were in New York for about a weekand she was probably just trying to figure things out in her head.
14:20 And there it is, the moment that shows the movie's age lol
don't forget there is a 2nd crocodile dundee film too. it was good too.
An Australian kiss is like a French kid but down under!
Crocodile Dundee movies were a family favourite for us, i have fond memories of quoting it and Crocodile Dundee 2 with my late parents. The sequel to this gets overlooked by many people, but you might apricate it as you apricated the humour.
6:39 Exploring the bush, are we?
Ayyyye, Crocodile Dundy!
Thanks for doing this one.
It's nice when we get a personable protagonist.
When I was in the US Navy my battlegroup visited Sydney. In the nightclubs the women would be dancing with each other, and the men would be in the back drinking each other the table. Nice. Fish in a barrel.
The second one is good, but I liked this one better. That said, without a spoiler, kudos to the guy that plays the heavy.
the 2 main characters were actually married in real life
The second one is equally good.
He said solid answer when talking about a Bidet...I shot beer through my nose.
Never thought of it before after watching several reactions, but are any Aussies going to vouch for the Koo Wee? People, Americans, this is the perfect cry or signal to use if you're trying to contact someone in the bush. Anywhere for that matter, so it's pretty cool that Linda did that. Honestly, growing up on the farm in country Victoria, we naturally employed this technique. Without giving away too much (too late) my sister lives on Koo Wee Rup road, for crying out loud. Excuse the pun.
I hope you watch the sequels!
We need a buddy cop movie with Crocodile Dundee and Borat
Love this movie, haven't seen it in years though. You know what else I haven't seen for awhile? The sequel! I hope you guys watch that one too hehe
You guys need to see crocodile dundee 2 as well. There are 3 movies i think , but 1 and 2 is the best for me. I think as a sequel number 2 is great.
I like the 3rd one as well, It may not be as great as the first two, but it was cute.
That starship troopers line was hilarious. Would you like to know more?
@Dos Cavazos First 2 mins - "Outback!?" It looks and sounds like a goddamn cubicle farm in lower Manhattan!
Just imagine the faux outrage if this movie had been produce this year.
One Of Favorite Movies Of My Childhood!😮😢🫣🥰🐊🐨🖥❤
Don't let anyone lie to yall part 3 is just different it's worth watching for the trilogy
You NEED to watch The Gods Must Be Crazy like RIGHT NOW, that movie is so hilarious and like Crocodile Dundee on crack! 😂
Yes watch 2nd one, no to 3rd
The love story in the movie mirrored the love story on set. Paul Hogan was married at the time, but him and Linda Kozlowski started an affair during shooting, he left his wife and he married Linda. They are still married today
you gotta watch the sequels.
The thing they say in movies, it's not cheating in another zip code. They were afraid another country. Why should Mick have cared, they weren't married so she was still available. Like Beyonce said if you like it you shoulda put a ring on it. After he proposed then Mick left, she was still available technically.
Greetings from bush Alaska. All of the villages that are only accessible by plane or boat are bush. If a Boeing 737 can't take off loaded, it's a bush airport.
Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding Jr.have a movie together also.Lightning Jack is the name of it.
Here's hoping you'll watch part 2. I like it, but some don't.
6:42 the outback
I did like the sequel as well as the original. I didn't know he married her in real life.
Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski are still married. Awesome story.
Hope she watches the sequel. I like it even more than the original.
In my opinion part 2 is the best one 🤷
