The phrase is "there is no replacement for displacement." See, it rhymes, that's the trick. (source: spending too much time around HD riders who do not understand the concept of RPM and Horsepower).
True but Suzuki is in an ugly underpowered sport touring bike phase currently with gsx1000gsxtgt…++ 😂. Doubt they will do anything cool with hyabusa. We are lucky they threw technology at the current busa😂😂
Interesting vid. Odd to think that Suzuki were ahead of their time (for once) with the first hyper naked. The concept looked great but the reality less so. Although if they had another crack it now (which they won't) it could well be a success.
I had one for 7.5 years. Fantastic bike, although because I was out of the country a lot, I only did 40,000 km on it. Too fast for me, truth to tell, but the engine is wonderfully tractable. 265 kg. Nick
Why a B-King is better than a Hayabusa? 1. Digital dashboard 2. 200mm rear tyre 3. Longer wheelbase 4. More comfortable upright riding position 5. Unique front panels indicators and headlights.
I always thought it was odd how the supersport segment wasn't homologous across Japanese manufacturers or even within their own model lineup at the time in order to capitalize on production costs for these engines Kawasaki had the 1400GTR (sport tourer) and the ZX-14 (supersport), but no naked ZX-14 Honda briefly had the Blackbird (supersport), but no sport tourer or naked with this engine Yamaha had the FJR1300 (sport tourer), but no supersport or naked with this engine Suzuki has the Hayabusa (supersport) and briefly had the B-King (naked) but no sport tourer with this engine It's almost as if they weren't really competing with each other at all
The bking is NOT a naked version of the hayabusa 🤣🤣 it's a completely different bike, longer wheel base, completely different frame and swing arm and a lot more thats unfamiliar to the busa, only similarities is the engine, but even then it runs a different output shaft thant he bisa by 5mm, the engine doesn't make the model of the bike.
Bikes ahead of their time and regularly still get questions at gas stops. Lucky to have a 08 black on black and non abs.... Still a great bike to this day and still love the OG brute! My other ripper next to it in my garage is the new kid brute ZH2....
Nice podcast I do enjoy it keep up the good work back in 2003 had a test ride on a b king and a sv1000n as I had to get rid of my old bike as it was coming up to its second MOT love the power delivery on b king but the sv was so much nicer down the country lanes and to show how much I enjoyed it I still have it 21 years later 😅😅
Remembering when the BK was introduced in the US. Man it was something with a face only a mother would love. I absolutely agree that Suzuki should introduce something similar but with a complete redesign. The engine is a complete monster.
Had the exact same coloured bike new here in the Uk in 2008, one of the only bikes I really miss!!!! two brother exhausts are a must ! Now got a Z H2 SE,,,
It looks dated. The design hasn’t aged well. The gen1 busa looks better. I would just get a gen1 and add bar risers plus full crash protection. Same sport touring setup plus excellent wind protection
Thank goodness that TTS sell superchargers for these bikes

With all the naked bikes being popular now, it’s time Suzuki brought it back

Too heavy
Modern critics:
"Too heavy"
"Too slow"
"Too ugly"
"Too much tech"
"Not enough tech"
"Bad headlight look"
"Too tall"
"No cruise control"

“There ain’t no substitute for cubes”? 😆
I think you meant “There’s no replacement for displacement”. 🏁🏍️
You beat me to it, bud lol I was thinking the same thing although "substitute for cubes" does sound pretty funny.

Honda had the X11 which was an ill fated naked blackbird
@@michaelhart5886 That is really interesting. I actually had a Super Blackbird back then but had no idea the X11 even existed.
@@fatcole1152 I love blackbirds. The x11 looks hideous though
@@michaelhart5886 I still would have loved to have one though
@@michaelhart5886 yep. The x11 gauges/dash looks hideous. I couldn’t stand having that dash stare at me all day with those angry bird eyes😂
2:48 confirmed biggest roar, every bird within eyesight takes flight as I approach in my bking with Yoshi pipes with no baffle
Brilliant, I love your reviews, having ridden a B King when it was launched, I'm kicking myself now I didn't buy it.
Hey can you please make a video on hero Xpulse 200T 4V because it's a Xpulse with wider and smaller tyres and I would love to hear your opinion on it
I like big bikes and curvy women. Suzuki should bring the B-King back.

I've owned two Burger Kings. Crazy fun bikes!
2007-2012* mine is 07.

At the time, it was interesting, but looking at it today, it’s somewhat of a Hot Mess🤦🏻, but I wish I had one 👍😂
Remember those, seemed like a wide boat-like beam from the saddle.
I new a dude who had one in SW Florida, it was his daily driver.
Oh, that exhaust is something special 🙂

You're definitely on a better bike now.
I unlocked mine. It's absolutely incredible!
Cool bike!💪
