I lived just outside La Grange for years. I'm actually old enough to remember the whole "Chicken Ranch " scandal when it happened. It was an infamous brothel, well known enough to be frequented by a number of Texas politicians and the Texas A&M football team.
I got to see them shortly after this blasted out over the radio (it was like nothing I'd ever heard on the radio before). When I attended their concert, I could not believe the solid wall of sound coming from just 3 people. I still love them just as much today.
You picked the best version of La Grange that I have ever heard, and I was a senior in high school when it was released and saw ZZ Top live four times over the decades.
@@SusanLines-vi3md - Most very successful bands of the era took world tours pretty much yearly. That gave people in countries around the world many chances to see them.
Was at a county fair concert with my 2 daughters ZZ Top, Brooks and Dunn and some no name opening act by the name of Jason Aldean Fantastic from start to finish Best part of the night was my youngest daughter singing every ZZ Top song after hearing about 5 notes
Let’s goooo! Thanks for sharing! They have such memorable tunes and their talent is endless! They will go down as one of the greatest to ever do it! Appreciate you stopping by the channel!
The thing about ZZ Top is that although what they do is superficially simple no-one, but no-one, makes a sound like them - even if you hear a super competent band covering one of their songs, it's just not the same
@@setonhillstudios I read a guitar book a while ago that basically said "This might contain the chords for ZZ Top songs but you'll never make it sound like Billy Gibbons because he's the king of pinch harmonics"
Love ZZ Top! I had never seen this performance either. Brilliant! Thanks for the great review. How about their song I Thank You? Another of my favorites. ☮️❤️😎
I thought he had a double bass pedal. Will have to go back and watch. Either way it was a killer performance from the whole band! Thanks for swinging by!

I know right!! It’s crazy that it’s only a 3-piece band! They definitely know what to play to make it sound massive!

I know right?! I had never heard this version but it was killer! Thanks for watching!
I've seen them 3 times and I'm in England 🤣

Another two-chord hit: "Horse Wth No Name" - America
It’s on the channel! Reviewed it not too long ago and loved it!
You should check out Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers, and their version of Jailhouse Rock
Sweet! We will add it to the list! They always bring that 🔥 Thanks for watching!

Treat yourself to 'Blue Jean Blues'. I was lucky enough to catch their only British date on the El Loco tour - they really were something special.
We will add it to the list! Appreciate the suggestion and have a great one!
Some of my favorite times dancing were dancing to these guys!!
They are amazing artists with so many great tunes! 🔥
I seen ZZ Top play in a bar in Jacksonhole WY!!!❤❤❤ AWESOMENESS
Let’s gooooo! I bet that was EPIC! Thanks for sharing!
ZZ Top always put out some good ones. Memorable & intelligent, too!
No doubt! Their songs are so catchy and their talent is undeniable! Appreciate you hanging out! 🤘🏻

Great point! They have their own distinct sound like many great bands of that era. Sometimes imitated but never duplicated!

One of my favorite bands EVER! I have never seen this one so thank you very much.
This performance was so awesome! Thank you for watching and more ZZ Top to come for sure! Legends!
My friend loved ZZ Top back in the 80s. A lot of memories riding in his pickup while listening to this stuff.
Good memories to have for sure!

Great song
No doubt! 💯 Thanks for watching!
LOVE that ZZ Top sound! Fun reaction! Thank you! 😀
Thanks so much! 🙏🏻
Hi Amsterdam here.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching! They rocked this one out! 🤘🏻
I suggest Blue Jean Blues. Nothing but blues and the only song I know of the uses "oil and gasoline" in the song.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I don't see a double bass. What do you mean this groove can't be duplicated? It belongs to John Lee Hooker.
I thought he had a double bass pedal. Will have to go back and watch. Either way it was a killer performance from the whole band! Thanks for swinging by!
Hey dude unless you have already heard it, you will dig on reacting to ZZ Top - El Diablo
Thanks so much!
