Why would you wear waders on a boat? You fall in you're going straight to the bottom.

      What about waders?

Those are rain pant bibs... They keep you warm and dry. They don't have booties like waders.

Ok, that's much safer if you ever fall in.

Yup. That's definitely rain gear. That type of outerwear is getting very popular in the bass fishing world it seems. They don't have enclosed boots or stocking feet, so there's no way they can fill with water if you were to fall in, like traditional waders. They're fishing in the Missisquoi Bay, which is on the very northern tip of the lake. It's essentially at the border of Vermont and Canada. Very different from Florida that's for sure lol.
I bought myself one of those Bass Pro 100mph rain parkas last year, and it was worth every penny. $250 for a coat induces a good amount of sticker shock, especially when you can buy a rod and reel for that price but it's the warmest, most water proof coat I've ever owned. I live a couple hours west of champlain, closer to Lake Ontario. It gets COLD up here. And it rains quite a bit in the fall. It's kept me comfortable fishing in the rain. At some point I'll buy the rain bibs as well. If it allows you to stay dry and fish even in the soaking rain, it's worth it.

Sounds good, Here it's not that cold and some days you hope for a bit of rain.

Lake Champlain 3-4 footers are different than any other lake, the waves are super close together so it's way worse.
