- Normally, only silence should be present in the absence of environmental sounds. However, it is not uncommon that many individuals may hear a sound within their ear or head when only silence should have been present. Although a continuous single tone or tinnitus is the most common, there are a variety of other sounds a person may hear. This video provides 8 different ear noises and their possible causes.

Hi Fauquier, has any procedure been found to lower or get ride of the continous sound tinnitus?
I've been dealing with a few of those but I thought it was all in my head like I'm hearing things. I didn't dare say anything because I thought it was impossible for your ear to do anything besides that one ringing sound. Today I googled if your ear can make a different sound from ringing and found this video. I couldn't believe it!!! I teared up at the relief I can now possibly seek help in the future. Thank you!!
Is it weird that i can make that last noise in my ear intentionally. I don't know if i'm flexing a muscle of some kind or what, but if i flex it and keep it flexed, then i can hear that sound until i relax the muscle.
I can also do it :O
It’s weird not in a worrying way but in a cool way! Like it really is flexing something (I don’t remember what specifically dhjfjds) but not many people can do it, so it’s like a special talent drjdjhd, also fun fact, some people with adhd (and other disorders that make you stim) do this as a way of stimming! it’s not a famous stim tho since yeah not many people can do it
I can too
Yeah I can also produce a kinda rumbling sound
Same! I think it’s normal, since I hear that sound almost everytime I yawn.
Incridible.........no words to describe.. just d inner feeling of the ones who have dis problem
Wow, mine sounds nothing like any of those. Instead it is a constant high pitched ringing that kind of sounds like the letter E as a sequel. For example one day my family was in a hotel room, and a surge suppressor was alarming, and my family was asking what the sound was. My hearing is generally very good, but I could not hear the noise they did. Once they discovered the source of the sound, they were astounded I could not hear it. Presumably that alarm was on the same frequency as my tinnitus is on.
From your description, you have "continuous" which is different from pulsatile/clicking tinnitus which this video is based on. For your continuous tinnitus, I would suggest this website: www.checkhearing.org/tinnitusmatching.php
Yeah i bet you have the first one, but defers a little bit from the example, mine is that one too but is less loud, but am impressed is the same exact sound
I have the pulsing hum, except it's actually more like a ringing, and in my case I do have IIH. When I have a migraine, sometimes I intermittently get the high-pitched thump overlayed on the pulse.
I have IIH, too. The noises in my head drive me nuts. Have you found any remedies? It literally wakes me up out of my sleep cause it's so loud.
mine is similar in sound to the last one but its a bit more high pitched and its beating quicker and sometimes irregularly🤨
YEA ITS LIKE THE SOURCE IS SPINNING IN CIRCLES NEXT TO MY EAR IS IT LIKE THAT FOR YOU?
Mine sounds like Pulsatile high pitched thump, even worse. It drives me crazy😢
I am pretty sure I am experiencing arrhythmic low -pitched fluttering. Whats annoying is that it only happens in my right ear. I can sometimes make it happen if I orient my jaw in a certain way and hum. It also always happens when I wear headphones and heard the linux or windows notifications sounds. Its not painful but incredibly annoying...
I also hear that arrythymic Low pitched. But the Heartbeat one is more common for me and the ringing also
And causes?
Thumbs up/comment if you or a loved one ended up with any of these after recovering from a recent illness.
Is it common to hear these? I've heard them all, some more commonly than others. Struck by how many of these I've had (all of them)
Should i be worried about mine? I have the first and last one...
Hey same here
I also have the same. 1st one sounds like mine.
I hear the chrunchi. When I move my neck.. I hear it all the time. Also the heartbeat one😮
the video is shorter than youtube's commercials
was there a noise for the first one?
If there was it must have been an exact match because I did not hear a thing.
high pitch continuous
Mine is high pitch pulsing 24/7 after ear infection and fluid in my ear. On month three and freaking out😮
Mine is the first one, but there is multiple ringings at once, each with a different pitch.
Mine sound is double my heartbeat.
Even mine sounds the same.....i am scared as hell.....wats the update...my started 2 hrs ago
Same here
Mine sounds like the last one but there is no pulsating-ness to it, just one constant, continuous hum like a high voltage electrical box or something. Not sure what to call it. It's annoying. 😴
That is called continuous tinnitus. You can try to replicate it here: www.checkhearing.org/tinnitusmatching.php
Thank you
Whooshing heartbeat sounds started recently. My BP is normal. But it's louder after exertion. Can this be temporary, pos caused by my recent (careful) withdrawl from benzodiazapines?
I've been dealing with whooshing for a couple of years but it's only in the left year. Normal BP as well.
Just read a comment in another video that cutting down coffee intake helps reduce PT. As someone who drinks 3-6 cups of coffee a day, I'd definitely be keen to try. Might be worth a shot if it's applicable to you as well!
What about common tinnitus sounds?????
i have like the pulsing hum and the low/high thump combined what am i supposed to be??? 😭
Is there any difference if some conditions/diseases are realted to unilateral or bilateral tinnitus?
I have a low volume "Arrhythmic Clicking" ig. Uhm so what now. It just stopped.
mine sounds like number 2 :( i have visit 2 ENT doctors. now i am on treatment, laser therapy 3 times a week. the diagnosis is eustachian tube oclusion
Hey, and, does it work?
it didn't. the referred me to oral surgeon, it probably because of impacted teeth. so i will have odontectomy in next 2 weeks. i will tell you later. do you suffer PT too?@@j.j.4150
I have 1,2,4 and 7.
I've had tinnitus (continuos single tone) 24/7 since 3 years (may 2021). Since last year september 2023 ive started experiencing somethiing similar as pulsatile low-pitched thumping inside my left ear. The thumping is arrythmic though, and for now only comes when i yawn, burp, get gas up from stomach or just in general when i put some pressure in my jaw. Since 2 months ive also started feeling crunchysounds in my left ear. Is anyone an expert in this? I would be so happyif someone could help me. What should i do? Ive been to doctors, and neurologist multiple times. Ive also been to ENT and eyedocror but no one could find the answer. ive done basic MRI of head, ultrasound of neckvessels, CTA of neck and head, but everything came back clear.
Hi, I went to youtube to search for ear tests and check if I have a hearing loss, results are fantastic but a different unique sound I've never heard before is ringing, I covered my ears and it's gone, but when I don't I hear it. Has anyone here tried to cover their ears to stop the sound?
I have but then I hear it even more. Like my own band that never stops 🎶
@@LittleArawen Hi, from that night. My ears were not ringing, it was the electric fan I have in my room, it was the one producing the ringing sound. Check to see if any appliances is making the sound.
Mine is a whooshing in right ear, same rythm as heart beat. I also get radiating pain pulsing throughout the whole area, into neck, head, shoulders. For over one year. It’s been hell , I hate it so much. Medical industry is a beyond a joke, they are useless.
Omg same. I hate it. And it's so hard to other people to understand. I have had a mri and nothing. This just started a year ago. The ear doc just said it's something have to hear. Smh uggggh
mine is not the same as these... mine is kind of a low mid tone pitch like hmmmmmmmm with high pitch eeeeeee and feeling pressure.
Mine was like a cricket yards away
