    Unreal. I have been looking at a lot of videos about this repair and dropping the subframe to let the motor drop further is by far the easiest. The hard bolt came out pretty easily. Thanks!!!

    I enjoy your videos and a couple of other RUclips channels on auto repair. Just because it may not be the make or model of my vehicles there's always tips and tricks we can use. I've always found a pully that spins too freely or for a long time turned by hand is usually bad . ✌🏻

    if u remove the power steering line / 10mm bracket - u can remove the pump from the top and do not need to remove the crank pully. 10mm bolt easier the crank pully

    May I ask how many hours would labor be for this job? I’m asking because without 2 nickels to rub together I’ll be DIY on this one. Thank you.

      Dont remember, maybe 2-3 hours with burping.

    After you were finished you said it didn’t get rid of the noise. What did you find to be the cause after the water pump replacement?

    • @MegaMilesBen
      @MegaMilesBen  5 месяцев назад +2

      The water pump had noise but wasnt all of it. It ended up being the alternator. It didnt make any noise with the belt off but the alternator pulley pulled out of the alternator. I had recommended the alternator after the job but by the time my client got around to doing it, it was too late and broke.

    All these pulleys should spin pretty freely and smoothly right? If it’s binding up or making noise or not spinning straight that’s when you know it needs to be replaced? If a pulley is messed up should you replace just that pulley or replace the part it’s attached to also? Also great job looks like a frustrating job

      All pullies should be easily turned except the crankshaft pulley. Power steering pulley will have slight force because of the fluid. Depends on the part and whats wrong with it, some pulleys cant be replaced alone.

      Thank you, I have an old RAV4 that on start up and going in reverse the noise is insane. Then when finished backing up it goes away and everything is quiet. I’ve replaced the belt already but I’m thinking I’m going to take the belt off and give all the pulleys a spin and see what the problem is. Noise is from the belt area

    Take a lot of patience to work on cars. Some are easy and some are a bit hard. Adapt to curse a lot.

      It takes a lot of patience sometimes, thats for sure. Throwing tools and step stools help a little 😆

    What would something like this cost to be replaced?

      I dont discuss labor on youtube. My shop is discounted to help the community and my clients provide their own parts so my quotes dont compare to others. Labor also varies from state to state. You can expect about 2 hours probably.
