I need to revisit this album because I haven’t listened to it since I was a kid. Bands like Kansas, Styx, Pink Floyd, Rush were doing proggy rock with smart lyrics that was selling big time. That’s when KISS got the bright idea to pivot to The Elder
Cheap Trick opening for Kansas makes about as much sense as Abba opening for Black Sabbath. Steve Walsh is embarrassingly underrated as a vocalist IMHO... Great review.
Kansas makes good music this I know. I'm not anything more than a fair weather heard it on the radio fan. Great review made me want to check this album out. I'm your age and might be ready. Thanks Doc.
Monolith was my introductory Kansas album and is still my favorite to this day. The artwork just captivated me as a kid.
Hell yeah!
