(Yes, the R7 is sharper than the Fuji 40MP, I have no idea how Fuji does it but they delete a lot of detail in the X-TRANS files) So for the time being I'm stuck using the old EF40mmf2.8 on the R7 until Fuji can figure out how to make film simulations work in HDR-PQ.

Hi...i'm so confused between getting x-s20 and sony a6700...im more of photography first, but would like to try video options to get best slo-mo (4k and Full hd) videos for my family occasions. Literally pondering every where to know which is best allrounder(lens, ecosystem, budget etc)..
if you care about SOOC and hate editing image => fuji, not always perfect but save a lot of time. If you want to edit the image to your liking or "personal" look => SONY, auto focus almost never miss but JPEG file is not as good as FUJI. Fuji have cheaper and lighter lens but less native lens + 3rd party lens since SONY use E-mount for both Fullframe and crop line up. Personally I still prefer FUJI for photos, I'm no pro and want to travel light with my camera
I have watched other reviews of this lens and I cannot agree with you that is lacks 3D pop and micro contrast. Not sure if it was your settings or what... but I think you should revisit this aspect and maybe do further comparisons.
I always liked standard Fuji colors better but nowadays I like Sony more if edited properly. Your samples for me look more natural on the Sony. More neutral skin tones while Fuji bringing too much magenta. Shot outside on the Sony looks more natural and yellowish in the sunny weather with nice color of the sky, maybe just touch too much yellow on the grass. I guess the shot where you sit down on the grass with f4 setting is Provia on the Fuji. This one looks nicer but dynamic range is poor then. F-log and Eterna are not to my liking at all. Also the special look of Voigtlander 35 f1.2 on a FF is just no contest. You can't replicate that on APS-C and buying those gigantic Viltrox lenses for APS-C is hilarious although their 75 f1.2 can give something similar looking to the FF. Man I am more and more pushed towards selling all my Fuji stuff and buying A7C II. Oh and by the way Fuji is still doing focus pulsing even though you just sit in one place on the grass and aperture is f4. Oh boy it's 2023 and it shouldn't happen even with third party glass.
That's because there is nothing natural about "Fuji colors". None of the presets are natural, they're just saturated with different contrast levels depending on simulation. Nothing special about full frame vs apsc either, it comes down to pixel density and pixel pitch. Fuji does a lot of things right but so many things late compared to the competition.
I am debating the X-S20 or the Hasselblade large format for video work, really stuck on my decisions because I know X-S20 great for visiting Antarctica with, but the Hasselblade large format produces superior images that will get me women.
wait.. i was listening at 8x speed per usual to get over your laconic Southern drawl but at 3:00 I heard you say 35mm 1.4... did you misspeak? did u mean the 35 1.2? misspoke? what's goin on? i dunno but me either
Yeah, unfortunately APSC was the smarter way for them to go as a business, theyd have already long gone bankrupt if they tried to compete in the full frame space back in 2012/2013 when they launched the X mount
This is the most fun I have seen you have in any of your videos. Having a bit too much fun with the peasant-worthy Fuji? The Squirrel footage and editing was amazing too, props for that. As much as I would like to have a FF Fuji camera, going the APS-C route was far from the wrong decision considering the success of the X100 line. Also, what's the fixation with the "3D Pop" in this video? Did the "toneh" got into your mind and now you want to isolate yourself from this plane of existence like Tony in that lake? Guess it would be nice but 90% of people would still prefer sharpness quality over 3D simply because you expect a $500-$1000 investment on a lens to have the best image quality possible. That Zeiss lens is MF only isn't it? You have to pick your poison, baby.
Boy are you shooting the standart shoots in Provia?? Eterna would be much better, and always stop down a little on the Fuuj. Higlights are near blown out in the hard contrasty provia look.. Love your Channel:)
Hi Kasey, Shall I replace my A7C with the XS20? I do product photography, mainly watches. If yes what lens do you recommend? I started on A6600. The benefit I found on the A7c is the depth of field.
today i would get the A7C II because its worth the Upgrade they did on it. The only thing i hate is the viewfinder (useless). So i went with XS20 to stay compact and have the Fuji experience.
I thought you were making the 'micro-contrast' thing up, for a laugh - but I think it is a real thing. It really looked obvious in a few of these shots. Cheers, Cam from NZ:)
So is the Fuji 16mm 1.4 the only lens that has 3D pop in the system in your opinion? I kind of want it but know it’s kind of noisy. Like the close focus abilities
The 16, 33, 35 1.4 have it, the 18mm 1.4 kind of does, the Zeiss touit 32mm also has it, but its smaller aperture means you need to get close to see it, I also personally think their 50mm f2 has it
This video is useless. 3D pop? Lol, yes apsc has this drawback since years. But you just need to use theses lenses in the right way. This example doesn’t do justice to the bokeh capabilities of this Viltrox. I moved from FF (R5) to XT5 I saved a lot of money and my photos are not worse
@@patlezinc I don't think sensor size is the sole factor, plenty of apsc lenses have shown this characteristic, even when I've adapted my Leica M Zeiss Biogon 35mm f/2.8 to Fuji I saw 3D pop. It's more than just how shallow the depth of field is, it's to do with falloff, micro-contrast etc.
Fuji colors are like my eyeballs are suddenly and inexplicably diseased. Fuji does do black good though... I've noticed that. Example: The black squirrel shots were awesome and terrifying in equal measure.
All this lens is doing is making me feel like my Fuji 33mm f1.4 might not be as awesome as I imagine, yet my snobbery is making me not buy it - with the excuse that it's because it's 200g heavier. Even though it's 95g LIGHTER than the Fuji 16-55mm I held in my hand all summer! I'm an idiot.
I bought an X-H2s this summer and meant to replace my A7IV with a crop sensor to be the second camera to my Nikon Z8. I think that the image quality holds its own as compared to FF, however, the AF left too much to be desired. Not just a deal breaker, I returned the Fuji. I will add another Z8 when I can and still use my A7IV.
Oof, as soon as you did the comparison side by side with the Sony Voigtlander combo it was a complete murder of the Fooj. I personally dont think the fooj video looks that great with the film sims on, the jerky ibis and not so great af just give me absolutely no reason to care about it compared to the competition.
the hypnotizing squirrel dance at 8:02! One thing to consider is the colour cast from the ND filter, ever tried the NiSi swift system? for me it was a great upgrade from a k&f 2-32 vnd. for fuj, you want to set you autofocus pretty slow so you can come close to cinema manual focus territory.

That's a sexy setup right there
I am debating the X-S20 or the Hasselblade large format for video work, really stuck on my decisions because I know X-S20 great for visiting Antarctica with, but the Hasselblade large format produces superior images that will get me women.
You might have a very tiny problem with women on Antarctica.
wait.. i was listening at 8x speed per usual to get over your laconic Southern drawl but at 3:00 I heard you say 35mm 1.4... did you misspeak? did u mean the 35 1.2? misspoke? what's goin on? i dunno but me either
Full Frame Fuji would have been magic: nailed it with that comment
Your best b roll to date.
Why are your vids not showing up in my feed or subscribed section even though I am subscribed!?
ok, but I'm waiting for the g9 ii, how are the leica 12-35, the 35-100 and the new 100-400?
Colors were amazing on the people footage, what color profile did you use for those shots?
Classic Neg.
@@cameraconspiracies thanks!
Boy are you shooting the standart shoots in Provia?? Eterna would be much better, and always stop down a little on the Fuuj. Higlights are near blown out in the hard contrasty provia look.. Love your Channel:)
Deep down in your plumbs you know that you're a Fuji boi :) #engagingcomment
So X-S20 beats out X-H2S for amateur users?
does fuji xs-20 fix issue with red-orange colors? We need tests with glory red T-shirt! ;)
Would you ever consider reviewing display tech?
Are you looking forward to the a7s3 software update?
I like the Sony Voigtländer combination more.
Would you recommend this combo for a beginner who wants to get into photography?
This is a very decent starting point, but the Fujifilm 35/2 or Sigma 56/1.4 are usually my first recommendations for beginners.
It doesn't matter because 1.2 and 1.4 didn't make any sense when you under construction right? (Love you man 😉)
Hi Kasey, Shall I replace my A7C with the XS20? I do product photography, mainly watches. If yes what lens do you recommend? I started on A6600. The benefit I found on the A7c is the depth of field.
today i would get the A7C II because its worth the Upgrade they did on it. The only thing i hate is the viewfinder (useless). So i went with XS20 to stay compact and have the Fuji experience.
@@zerotonine807So do you miss the A7C or are you happy now with the XS20?
I thought you were making the 'micro-contrast' thing up, for a laugh - but I think it is a real thing. It really looked obvious in a few of these shots. Cheers, Cam from NZ:)
It definitely is real, look at basically any zeiss lens
Is there any lens for Fuji with that kind of 3d pop, as Sony with voigtlander ?
That squirrel was incredible
So is the Fuji 16mm 1.4 the only lens that has 3D pop in the system in your opinion? I kind of want it but know it’s kind of noisy. Like the close focus abilities
35mm t1.4 and 33mm t1.4 has it
Plenty of lenses have it when used properly, better for photography, I mean video is lame no matter the pop.
My gripe with the Fuji in the lawn scene is the awful sky color compared to the Sony.
Viltrox 28mm 1.8 FE would pop in Sony
Thank you for the video . I want to ask. The music used 7,10 / 9:15 . Can you tell which music. Can ı find it?
It's not released yet, all my music is here vegetablepolice.bandcamp.com/
@@cameraconspiracieswhen it will release?. And can I buy and use for my youtube video?
I think you need ninja gear for the autofocus tests where you jump into view. Especially for sony.
New music? 🔥
Fuji colors are like my eyeballs are suddenly and inexplicably diseased. Fuji does do black good though... I've noticed that. Example: The black squirrel shots were awesome and terrifying in equal measure.
Get yourself a sign....................................THIS PARK IS MINE!
Very sharp and nice, but a little long for vlogging.
I like Viltrox. They make great lenses. But, Fuji? Their autofocus still struggles. Deal breaker.
it literally beat the crap out of the sony just now
I bought an X-H2s this summer and meant to replace my A7IV with a crop sensor to be the second camera to my Nikon Z8. I think that the image quality holds its own as compared to FF, however, the AF left too much to be desired. Not just a deal breaker, I returned the Fuji. I will add another Z8 when I can and still use my A7IV.
@ChrisThe1 As it would against any system with a MF lens. ;)
@@tomaszstramel3594 well yeah, it's a dumb comparison
The villy looks great but the voighty just looks straight up green screen there’s so much 3D pop
Viltrox & Fuji..
The best arranged Marriage on RUclips..
● Hopefully for Nikon Z, as efficient & Aesthetic.
All these Chinese makers..... omg, can you believe that it's $15? That had me laughing so hard! Its totally true!
Oof, as soon as you did the comparison side by side with the Sony Voigtlander combo it was a complete murder of the Fooj. I personally dont think the fooj video looks that great with the film sims on, the jerky ibis and not so great af just give me absolutely no reason to care about it compared to the competition.
Sony "green"
the hypnotizing squirrel dance at 8:02!
One thing to consider is the colour cast from the ND filter, ever tried the NiSi swift system? for me it was a great upgrade from a k&f 2-32 vnd.
for fuj, you want to set you autofocus pretty slow so you can come close to cinema manual focus territory.
That focus breathing though....
Blond ass out of focus but black squirrel shots where wow wow...and great music
The full frame Fuji is here, it's called the Nikon Zf
Dude, that audio outdoors is killing my ears
