@@longlangago True. For table tennis, the national games are like NBA while the Olympics are like USA basketball team playing the Olympics
And it is even more impressive in the TT World Championship (host every 2 years), for the last time China didnt win the gold medal we have to go back to 2003, Werner Schlager from Austria vs Joo Se-hyuk from South Korea (and yes, this is the last time China didnt have a player on the finals ). For 7 editions in a row we had a China vs China final until 2019 when Ma Long won the gold medal against Mathias Falck from Sweden. On the womens side, China have always won the Gold medal in the Olympics, on the TT World Championship we have to go back to 1993 for a no China vs China final.
Got to feel for Wang Hao. Reaching finals thrice only to be satisfied with silver 😞

Can you guys please start posting 2021 highlights? I barely get to witness anything that happens due to time differences and limited television coverage. I understand the highlights may come on RUclips later, but it is not the same when they’re posted weeks or even months later. Please post every single event that happens, without discrimination of the popularity, as it is your job to bring the games to all of us. At the moment I feel as if the olympics are some kind of whitelisted, pay per view type of event, which is absolutely a disgrace and shame as this is a once in a four year international affair that everyone should be able to experience. If this lag in video production persists it is terrible for marketing the games.
It is so upsetting that it is impossibly hard to watch and keep up with the Olympics, especially if you arent able to watch it live. Very disappointing
they probably cant because of agreement with tv channels, they would lose a lot of viewership if everything is readily available on youtube.
I think the Olympic games would be more popular if you could see everything on RUclips or anywhere really

There are two men in the table tennis single final, out of two one will always be Chinese most of the time both the finalists are Chinese. They are better than the best in TT.. by the way out of 32 medals in TT so far they have won 28.

I remember see an interview by a player or a coach, where he said the expectation is to win 4 gold 2 silver, which is the absolute max you can win (gold+silver in singles, gold in double).

As much as I like Ma Long, probably not. He had a reputation for coming up short in big international events from like 2011-2013, and Wang Hao was his kryptonite during that time.
Edit: Although, now that I think about it more, there's a decent chance he might've beaten Zhang Jike - Zhang Jike, Ma Long, and Wang Hao were the Rock Paper Scissors of table tennis. Ma Long beats Zhang Jike, Zhang Jike beats Wang Hao, Wang Hao beats Ma Long. So given his record against Zhang Jike, very possible.
Ma Long did not have the mentality he does now back in 2012. He constantly failed under pressure back then so he could've lost to any one of them.
You got to feel sorry for Wang, he has been in 3 finals without a single win, that hurts him deeply for sure...
