Badminton still has a lot of competition for the Chinese. But it is complete domination when it comes to TT. They try to sweep the podium in all the events. (singles and team)
India - Pak dominated Field Hockey, but look at them now India hardly makes into the podium . Pakistan struggles to even qualify.
Things change pretty drastically.. it has happened in badminton. Spain Gold and India silver .
@@shinigami3682 India did not invest in astro turf fast enough when the world was changing. That unfortunately gave the way for richer countries to play better than india in hockey. Same story in Pakistan.

often times and i mean by like 99% of top players exclaim at getting points because of how high level the tourney is. Zhang himself knows this as he is a grand slam winner. Ping pong is full of this its a huge mental game for both players
Also zhang jike was dealing with terrible back pain for the entire Olympics. After winning the team Gold, he has to San on something during an interview because he could barely stand up

Imagine instead of attending Olympics not to get a medal for the country but to have a match with someone from your own country even more at the finals😍 that moment you're quite sure that somehow the medal goes to your country whatever happens 😍
At this point, having your country as the medal winner is not the final mission. The real goal is to be the one to earn it.

Watching this after watching Tokyo 2020. Funny facts I've found:
1. There was no sweat squad. The players had to clean the table themselves with their hands.
2. Unlike Tokyo 2020, the flags raise in the victory ceremonies in Rio 2016 were full of crumple.
A healthy ZJK would have yielded a much tighter match
