In the 70's and 80's, most NFL games broadcast in Mexico (where I was born and grew up) were Raiders, 49ers, Cowboys, and Steelers games. I was little, knew nothing about football, but I liked the black/gold uniforms I'd see every now and then. Plus, they were winning. So I've been a Steelers fan since the 70's. Then we moved to the US and I fell in love with football, played for 7 years, and I was an undersized linebacker for a few of those. Now I'm 50 and I own only 3 Steelers "items" that could mean I'm a fan: an oversized decorative bottle cap with the Steelers logo that my daughter gave me. A terrible towel a friend brought me from Pittsburgh. And yes, you guessed it, a #58 Jack Lambert jersey I gave myself for my birthday a few years ago. This guy was the ultimate badass. And he's now a humble man living the life he wants to live. Way to go, Jack Lambert. Great video to honor a great player.
Simply, the best linebacker ever! Ferocious, intimidate, agressive, challenge and a great "wide receiver"; always defending his team mates. But also, brilliant and intelligent to read the game. Save GOAT Jack "The Count" Lambert.
One of the best ever to play..no one was more intense and no one ever expected more out of himself..young players could learn a lot from him..play hard..team first..don't complain
I was born in 64, just 30 miles West of the city of Pittsburgh - just outside of Aliquippa, PA. It was the perfect time and place for a kid who grew up loving the Steelers. This is one of the best videos I've seen of Jack - great job and the music was spot on !!!
Lambert wore humongous pads. Maybe, that was his secret? Jack Lambert was the spiritual leader, the heart & soul of the Steel Curtain defense. Notice how he's giving instructions and firing up the troops? He called the plays as middle linebacker. Lambert had good hands.
Best middle LB. I'd take him over anyone in the middle. LT was the best outside. If you want to lump them all together Great as jack was LT was Jack in a faster more athletic package.
My all time favorite. 6-4 and maybe 220lbs. It’s crazy how many times he crushed ball carriers with a much lower center of gravity. One of the few who could tackle someone like Earl Campbell one-on-one. Very strong hands. If he got a hand on you, then you were going down. Football strong in that he always delivered max force on a hit no matter how little contact he made.
Lambert should have been an Oakland Raider. His personality and style of play would have fit in perfectly with the Silver and Black!!! Imagine Lambert and Ted Hendricks, & Phil Villipiano playing together. OUCH!!!!
Ray Lewis was great but Jack Lambert is the standard. Ray was a throwback player to these times and would’ve been great even then. But Jack Lambert is the linebacker that all others are judged against. And very few are even comparable. None were, are and probably never will be better. He was undersized but his level of play was gigantic.
he was the best at his position, but if he played in todays game he would be fined or suspended more than he be playing.Todays game gotten to soft for players like jack lambert.
This is why Brady won more super bowls than Montana. Montana had to play against players like Jack Lambert and the old rules. If Brady played back then he would have gotten crushed.
Very true. But to me Bradshaw is the greatest of all time. Bradshaw took a serious beating during his career and still won 4 Superbowls in 6 years. If not for Harris and Bleier getting hurt in 1976, Pittsburgh would’ve won 3 in a row. Montana benefited from the rule changes to stop the Steelers domination on defense, mainly Mel Blunt who was also one bad ass dude.
One of the most feared and greatest linebackers in nfl history 🔥

Nice tribute to my favorite team ever! Saludos de los Estados Unidos- ¡contigo Amigo! 🏈🇺🇸🏈
13 minutes of pure smiles.

He was my fathers favorite player of all time. My dad worshiped No58.

One of the best right here.
Great video, great music, great linebacker
You didn’t fool w this guy. Damn intense, always scrapping and hustling. Raised the whole defense’s intensity.
JACK SPLAT LAMBERT !
THEEE MEANEST TOUGHEST MAN EVER TO PLAY FOOTBALL !
I except no substitutions.
Not even Butkus?
The very best there ever was and there ever will be 👍💪😆
The man.
Unbelievable player. Didn't take crap off anybody anytime

My all-time favorite middle linebacker. End of story.
Jack was the very definition of Pittsburgh..hard and gritty and taking no shit
That's a football player.. one of the all time greats & one of the two scariest players to ever step on the field - LT being the other one...
Imagine them on the same team, that would've put the fear in every QB
He played for the love of the game
Fun fact, Lamberts teammate in college at quarterback was Nick Saban, later head coach at Alabama
Mr. Lambert! Nuff said! #PS4L
Perfect tackler. Used angles and leverage. Stronger than u would think. No fear.
BMF
On balance the BEST Linebacker i ever saw, and i include LT, Singletary and even the great Butkus. 75-79 He was peerless in the Greatest Defence ever.
Best middle LB. I'd take him over anyone in the middle. LT was the best outside. If you want to lump them all together Great as jack was LT was Jack in a faster more athletic package.
Trying to block him must of been a nightmare
Scariest looking linebacker to ever play and a terror on the field as well
"That will cool your ass off. "
Awesome video!

Agreed!!!!! Real NFL!!!!!
I think it's kinda funny, every time Jack caught an interception, you can see him trying to find someone to letteral too.
A BADD ASS.
He was right. They should put dresses on the quarterback’s nowadays.
Oh yes I miss those old gladiators from the grid-iron they didn't cry about no salary they just wanted to dismember , whoever had the ball 🏈 👍
2nd goat linebacker behind Butkus.
Not quite ..debbie, I do believe it's the other way around. No offense against Butkus or yourself.
@@frankformicola5702 2 words Ray Lewis...That's the G.O.A.T NOW.

He was deceptively strong for his size
Lambert sure played bigger than his 220 lbs.
I know its harsh, but I hope the guy who injured Lynn Swann in that game long ago Jack Lambert paid him back in full🤬☠
he was the best at his position, but if he played in todays game he would be fined or suspended more than he be playing.Todays game gotten to soft for players like jack lambert.
They’d flag him for “solid tackling and great technique”.
Goddell would want this great man in prison
