Pasta e Fagioli recipe Frankie Cooks

  • Ingredients
    equal amounts 1 onion, carrots + celery
    3 cloves garlic for every 1 onion, finley minced
    1/2 cup dry white wine
    equal amounts cannelini beans and red kidney beans
    1/2 large can tomato puree
    pinch of rosemary
    3 times as much oregano as rosemary
    to taste salt and pepper
    to adjust thickness chicken or veg stock
    to taste romano cheese
    cooked pasta #40 ditalini (DeCecco)
    1. Saute in olive oil: onions, carrots + celery until onions are translucient. Add garlic and cook till golden
    2. Add oregano, resemary, salt and pepper.
    3. deglaze with white tine and cook until alcohol is boiled off.
    4. add tomato puree and cook for about 3 minutes.
    5. take rinsed canned beans and puree half. add puree and whole beans to pot
    6. adjust thickness with stock
    7. add grated Romano cheese
    8. add pasta and cook for 3 more mintes.
    9. serve with extra romano cheese

    So ... we have your mom's recipe for pancakes and now your grandfather's recipe for pasta e fagioli ... keep going ... I'm ashamed to say, I've never had paste e fagioli ... but it is on my "to cook" list and trust me, this is the recipe I will try. Thanks for sharing and trust me, Grandpa Frank is smiling ...

      Gotta say after Tastemades higher energy videos and smashing the piggy banks etc.. Frankie needs to smile more & laugh more. I’ve been watching several of his and they lack appeal. I know the Struggle Meals won’t happen bc it belongs to TM but he has to bump it up on the energy - shave more often - & ask people to like comment & share ✌️✌️✌️
      Love Frankie! Maybe they burned him out & he’s forgotten why people loved him to begin with? That bright smile had everyone crazy! The laugh 😂 Wish he’d be silly again 🤔

    I don't like pasta e fagioli in restaurants because it's always greasy and watery, but this looks really good.

    hi frankie! is it possible that this dish could be thinned out into a minestrone? and if so, would you add more stock or more water or anything else? (or should i have not suggested this at all, haha) thanks!

      I think Minestrone typically uses more vegetables, so you could add what you want and thin out the soup with more stock.

    The recipe says 3X rosemary; but you say 3X rosemary. Confused!

    Oh boy... I appreciate your "personality" but for the love of pete do not try to teach people educational youtube videos on cooking- the safety and awkwardness of you cutting an onion was enough to make me smdh... why not bring on some experts that will demo how to cook for you? Also, if you were showing us your beloved grandfather's recipe, we'd at least have appreciated you making it yourself even ONCE in advance of the video- lame
