Wow what a coincidence!! This game has been laying on my shelf for about 3 months now. I simply haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Too busy. I'm getting together with some old friends for the weekend tonight, for some much needed R&R, and yesterday I thought to myself: "Maybe I'll crack Tiny Epic Tactics open and give it a go... I'll check out a tutorial.".... and what do you know! Rodney uploads a video for it on the same day! Many thanks Rodney!! Keep up the good work!
Tiny Epic Kingdoms is the same way- I actually did have a 5p game of that one where ALL of us had 10 VP at the end. Three of them were eliminated by the first tie breaker, which was the size of your army. The two of us that remained had the game decided by how much of our tower was built- I'd not invested in it at all, whereas they had one level- which normally would be worthless as it doesn't grant VP until level 2, but since it was the next tie breaker, they ended up winning because of that. It gave us all a good laugh.
Many thanks Rodney to you and all the crew - great job as always! Really appreciate your work, simple explanations and flow of information all helps. I wonder if you'd consider doing a teach of the solo rules in particular (tends to be my primary mode of play)?
Thank you kindly. Glad you enjoyed. Unfortunately, no plans to cover the solo rules currently. Hopefully the core rules will give you a head start on it though.
I hadn't heard of this game until last week but saw it at my local store and bought it on a whim. Now imagine my excitement when I find out there's a Watch It Played video for it! Setting it up today and hoping we'll enjoy. Thanks, Rodney!
Picked this up yesterday. So glad I did. I got it for the Solo mode where you flip over the terrain boxes to reveal miniature dungeons inside, which feels like the game's true mode that uses all of its content. I wish there were more instructional videos about that mode of play.
I second a lot of these comments. You do an extremely good job at explaining a game, to the point and informative. - This game looks really interesting and I think I will order it
Best in the business by far, clear concise and so easy to follow, you’re a walking talking rulebook Rodney, excellent job again I just love hw you do these videos, thank you
This game looks fun! I love Final Fantasy Tactics, and I am ALWAYS on the hunt for games that are similar. A tabletop Tactics game seems great! I appreciate your videos and explanations. They are the perfect amount of informative, without being boring. :D
I don't know why I keep watching your videos, always cost me money LOL. No better way of learning a game and know if you would like it. PS. do you have the expansions maps? do they significant change gameplay?THANKS
I have a question about knockback. If I knockback a player do they get to counter. And which applies first the knock back or the counter? And also can you attack with different units the same turn?
Hey Eduardo - sorry, I lent my copy out, so I don't have an easy way to check this for you. You might want to check with the publisher directly, or see if the forums for the game on BoardGameGeek already have an answer.
Even though they both only take one additional movement to ascend, does the largest box count as a higher elevation than the smaller boxes for purposes of calculating ranged attacks? Thank you in advance. (It's the right video this time 😅)
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
After Tiny Epic Zombies I gave up. Their games are fun but they reached a complexity and component number where "tiny" just became a downside. I highly dislike that map they used for Tiny Epic Tactics. This game would've been so much better if it was a normal size boardgame ... Anyway, the how to play video is great, as always
To each their own and it obviously won't appeal to everyone but I think they hit the nail on the head for what they were going for on this. They designed a game with tactical depth but able to be stored in a very small box. Sure it could be enlarged for a bigger map, but the pieces would need to be bigger, too. Any map larger than this would surely be a bit too big for the design. With things like ranged attacks and peaks, larger maps would practically invalidate melee specific units like beasts and short ranged fighters.
Hey Rodney. I have watched every single video you have on every single game I've bought since I got into the hobby a couple years ago. I've been lucky enough that you've covered most of those games. Not that I need it anymore, but is there a chance that you're gonna tackle Nemesis by Rebel Games now that they've announced a more broad release in markets?
Hi, we just played our first game (2 players) thank you for the intro! Just one question: end of game scenario, at the start of my turn I am in control of an area, I get a flag into control and receive the flag..... do I finish my turn or does it go straight to my opponent to have this last turn before the game ends?
Hey Verena, I lent my copy out, and it was long enough ago that I shot this that I don't remember off the top of my head. Sorry I couldn't be of more help right now!
Hey Ajay, I don't review on the channel, but I have covered several of their games, so you can check them out and see which one might suit your tastes best!
I don’t review or recommend here, so I can’t help with that, but I’ve covered a lot of them, so hopefully you can watch the videos and find the best ones to suit your particular tastes.
Hy! I don't know if you read comments, but I was just curious, that do you like tiny epic? I know, there are better and worse games in the series, but I collect them (there is just 12 tiny games in the series), and would like to know if you do so as well, because a lot of youtubers who show them, just do it for one video and sell the ones they don't like.
I read and reply to all the comments that I can. I feature games I like, but I don’t think my personal choices about what games I keep or eventual give away should be used to determine how much someone else might like a game.
Thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about this in a general way here: ruclips.net/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/видео.html&t=342 More generally speaking, I don't tend to cover the solo variants.
khristien Pennanen I appreciate your honesty! I do tend to like them, but if someone finds the “Tiny” aspect to be a tad gimmicky, no one could blame you. That said, keep an eye out for Tiny Epic Dinosaurs. I thought that one was going to be VERY gimmicky, but we’ve already played it around 5 or 6 times (print and play version) and it’s proven itself to be very good!
You are a master at teaching games. No one does it like you.
Thank you kindly.

It's basically Final Fantasy Tactics in tiny board game form. Perfect!

I'd love to see you and Luke / Andrea do a playthrough of this, it looks like a video game in board game form
Great video as always Rodney. Loved the tie breaking line 'I'm not sure I believe you' haha
I'm a simple man, Rodney posts a video I hit like. Even if I did feel let down by the game itself when it delivered.
Rodney calling out all the “hypothetical tie” questioners! 😂

Yep, a higher box counts as a higher elevation than a lower box.
Do you have to move exactly the number of movement spaces? Or can you move less?

will you do any follow up videos for the many expansions?
I don't tend to cover expansions.
Hi, thanks for the video. Question:
Ava has 4 movement points. Is that up to 4 or strictly 4??
Up to 4!
Question, does the ballista get a range bonus? Or just 4 spaces period?
A range bonus from what?
It’s at a higher elevation to the orange flag, doesn’t it get +1 range?
@@CaptainWilliams101 Nope, it has a fixed range of 4.
