    I think the most obvious "clue" is something that we mentally dismiss, assuming bad writing or acting - Harlan Thromby was completely lucid and rational for many minutes after being injected with a massive morphine overdose. He should have been drooling and passed out within a few seconds if that were the case.

    • @PatrickPrejusa

      but of course we know now why that wasn't the case.

      Yeah, you're watching this and you're like "well maybe the movie makers fucked up here because they don't know about," but no that was the tell. So many film-makers suck at blatantly obvious technical details that we give them a pass. Rian Johnson used that against us!

    • @Zombie_Trooper
      @Zombie_Trooper Год назад +7

      @@elbruces It's not about blatant disregards though. The rule of thumb for film, books, etc, is that they exist within a pocket universe. People love to nitpick, but that's not really logical because they aren't designed to be realistic just by virtue of base concept like montage. It's silly to assume reality needs to be accommodated. Also look into editing, for example, because there's a lot of theory involved in editing that contradicts reality HOWEVER it has been proven that decisions are purposefully adopted because the artforms has become so recognizable after 100+ years, even if they're illogical.
      I never go into a film or work on them with the mindset that they need to meet realistic standards because that's flying in the face of the artforms and functionality.

      All I'm saying is if Harlan got the Morphine overdose, he'd be slurring and going all wet-noodle almost instantly. As movie viewers, we gave that a pass, because maybe movie-makers don't know that. Rian did.

      I can’t stand watching movies with people like you always guessing people the whole movie like just be quiet and watch. it’s annoying when someone just randomly guesses the killer with no facts and just ruins the movie or they say everyone’s name and at the end when we find out say “yup I told you it was him” like yeah also everyone else who was on the damn movie. Why can’t people just watch and enjoy the story being told? Isn’t it dissatisfying trying to guess the whole movie?

    and beyond the writing, and the score, the camera work and the SET ugh the setttt, which I know entirely too much about and love so so much--
    for me the best part is Christopher Plummer and Ana de Armas' acting together. Ana's acting showing how distraught Marta is just so heart-breaking and even more to me is the way Christopher (Harlan) looks at her during that scene. Harlan just loved her so much and he knew he had to help her 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 both because he cares about her and also wants the will to not be reversed. the look on his face is just my favorite work of acting ever

    I want to recommend both "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" and "Lucky Number Slevin". I feel like both are kind of genre-adjacent to Knives Out, although I don't know that either is a whodunnit in the same way... certainly Slevin isn't. But both have that same kind of fun, twisty plot with several characters (and a stacked cast for both: RDJ, Val Kilmer, Bridget Moynahan - I think? - and Larry Miller, among others, in KKBB; tons of greats in Slevin, maybe the most notable parts are played by Josh Hartnett, Lucy Liu, and Bruce Willis, although I'm leaving out a few big ones...) and both withhold the solve 'til the end. (I'm just not sure either is solvable ahead of time the way Knives Out is. Kind of, but the mystery isn't the central plot-point in the same way in Slevin, I guess?)
    But I feel very confident saying that if you like Knives Out, you'll also like KKBB and Slevin.

They both are horror movies, and they’re a little bit different from that exactly but there’s anything for Jackson which is old people involved in criminal and also maybe demonic things and then there’s this movie called the visit which is another horror movie where the old people are sort of up to no good. I don’t know if there’s just like a murder mystery where an old person is the killer, but those just jump to mind as kind of similar.

    1. She just committed arson and intentionally destroyed a priceless work of art
    2. In the words of Ransom, "With a good lawyer [which he can definitely afford], Miles Bron will go scot free. He didn't destroy the painting, and there's no real evidence tying him to any of the other crimes. Just a bunch of people who already perjured themselves before.

    Have you ever watched the movies"X"and"Pearl"?

    It's a great revamp of Columbo's how catch ems not whodunit. Don't watch glass onion, it has nowhere near the aesthetic or vibe this gave. This is a classy well done and amazing looking picture and glass onion is a modern Hollywood "mystery "
