I don't think so... Temp will be too hot. I'll try it and let you know.
No because there will be disturbances causing the mixture ...but in a water bath there will be uniform heat supply
Can't heat directly because of the formation of silver nitride ( Ag3N) which is highly explosive. So a water bath is more appropriate.
