All credit to Slovakia but the Belgian coach felt it was necessary to play two defensive midfielders and play an offensive winger as left back. Major tactical mistake by Tedesco. Interesting fact: Tedesco never managed to win a game in Frankfurt in his entire career. This time he cursed himself.

As sorry as I feel for the Belgians there but no, the rule is good and the referee has earned my admiration for disallowing the goal. Surely, the player didn t hit the ball with the hand on purpose- but if that s a criteria, you open up the floodgates for subjectivity- so the rule is designed around the question "did you get an advantage as a consequence out of this interaction"...and yeah, if intentional or not, that hand-ball interaction had a favourable impact allowing him to control and then pass the ball. I don t know the names of the ppl on this panel but the lady s arguments are very stringent in a logical way and the guy with the glasses with his mantra would just open up floodgates leading to whatever... it s a stawman s argument to go on about "oh how far do u go back etc", you judge by player and ball interactions in a consecutive way step by step. That s the fair thing to do.

Well, if this one gets called you need to call the first half hand touch in the box as well that would have awarded Belgium a penalty. It's over the top.

@@JohnDoe_75 That touch came after a stoppage of play because there was a foul on the defender.

"That's life, things don't go your own way" - what kind of argument is that? Here's a possible response: that's life Belgium. It just depends which side you want to win. Personally I don't want to see illegal goals in football just as I don't want to see Wimbledon match point being decided by human error.

Rte analysts know about sweet F all outside the premier league. They have no business commentating on this tournament without at least doing some team and player research first

In fairness they did a little at the beginning but I agree with you overall. The pundits for this Euro championship are dismal, Lisa Fallon has no business being there as she's never actually played the game.
Kevin Doyle is excellent, as is Shane Given, Ronnie, Stephen Kelly and Stephanie Roach.
Didi is good in spots and Cawley has to stop repeating the name of the host 200 times during analysis.
Tony O'Donoghue uses that condescending smirk so much that it's infuriating.
Speaking of condescending we haven't seen Joanne Cantwell yet, she's the worst.
