Wow, Lisa, you created an awesome video here! I didn’t know Fullerton has had a train museum open to the public since 2008. Is it located next to the train station or nearby? I wonder if Craig Martyn, the founder and president of the former model train company “BLMA Models” (Best Little Models Around) had anything to do with helping to start this museum? His company was based in Fullerton just a block or two from the train station. His model train business thrived in Fullerton around the same time that this museum first opened its doors. Craig’s an ardent, hands-on train enthusiast very much like Jason Shron, the founder and owner of the renowned model train company called Rapido Trains. Jason actually acquired a real-world railroad passenger car that he incorporated inside the building of Rapido Trains’ world headquarters in Markham, Ontario, Canada. In a similar fashion, I wouldn’t be surprised if Craig also assisted with founding and acquiring real-world trains for this Fullerton museum. He seems like the kind of train fanatic that could have done this. Anyway, this remains only speculation on my part. But today Craig no longer works in the model train business because in early 2016 he sold BLMA Models to Atlas Model Railroad Company in Hillside, New Jersey. Atlas totally absorbed the BLMA brand into its own line of model train products, leaving Fullerton without its own model train manufacturer anymore. I also grew up in Orange County (in Tustin, not too far southeast from Fullerton) during the ’60s and ’70s. Back then I enjoyed watching Santa Fe trains that still served citrus packing houses in the area. I even rode aboard Santa Fe’s shiny silver San Diegan passenger train from Santa Ana to Los Angeles sometime around 1965 when I was about 5 years old. I could tell you some amazing history about how glorious trains were in Orange County then. Today I reside in San Diego, rich with its own railroad history and a fabulous model railroad museum in Balboa Park. - from Thomas Lincoln Pilling

@@LisaKEntertainment I don’t recall a train museum over there. I don’t over to Old Town very often nowadays. When I went there a few years ago, I remember going into a model train shop there or something like that. Is that what you are talking about?
Wow - so much in your writing above.. so much history - so many stories. A couple bought a very small model train museum when it was about to go under, and had it open for a bit... but seems it closed in recent years before I could get there. Looked like a neat spot. There is a guy in the train club at Balboa Park who follows my channel and has reached out about getting down there to film at the museum.. And I recently joined a FB group for folks to post historic photos. It's been SO neat! Lots of railroad tracks and trolleys in the LA area... so many familiar places - that don't look familiar at all.
Really great video, Lisa. Nice railroading boots. Just got back from an Amtrak train vacation to Portland and back to sacramento. You should do a video on OUR train museum in Old Town. 🚂
Those are all places on my radar. I literally had a conversation yesterday about old town and have been thinking about taking the starlight up to Seattle next year and the Sacramento museum also needs to happen.
Genius! You recognized the foamer community is a sea of sausages. What a sure fire way of breaking through to the top, past hundreds of grizzled old men. Just brilliant.
Fullerton has always been a great train watching spot, I grew up about a mile from there and we used to pick up our grandmother at the train station. That was back before Amtrak, back in the days of the classic Santa Fe warbonnet F units. I don’t live as close anymore but I still try to visit a couple of times a year. You’re guaranteed to see 5 or 6 trains an hour anytime day or night. I’ve never been there when the museum was open though. Guess I’ll have to get up early on a Saturday sometime.
@@jamesrea329 exactly! I had a bit of a drive, and with it being early on a Saturday, LA traffic, etc., and then getting distracted by all the trains going by, I didn’t make it to the museum itself until it was basically closing, on the dot.

@@davidgrenis638 hmmm… that is enticing. Have you watched my episode, take a ride with me, at the southern California Railway museum? I think you might like that one.
I don't mind you talking about trains, Lisa. However, I really object to the obvious "Yes, there are trains here, but look at ME!!!" promotion of your videos. Do you really think you'd have as many views if you didn't show us what you look like? IMHO, we're seeing far too much of this in both prototype and model railroading lately. Trains generally aren't sexy. They're nerdy, family and cool for sure; but titillating and fashionable..., nope.
No one person has the authority to define railroading or how it is allowed to be depicted creatively. And I wonder how many of my episodes you've actually watched, as I'm not exactly like a bikini model in a sports car calendar - although I have modeled and love classic cars. I have, in fact, twenty years of high level media production and performing experience that I bring to my series, which oftentimes includes me inviting others to tell their stories on-camera. Do you think that since I film train related entertainment, I should only showcase "nerdy" men, "families" or possibly un"fashionable" women? In my on-camera moments and in the comments on here, I enjoy connecting with my community. And the energy of my channel and that which generally resides here in the comments, is a stark contrast to the energy which you have introduced. This work I do is something you chose to watch, is free to you - and is something you can opt out of without bringing such a comment to this otherwise positive space. There is plenty of alternate train content on RUclips... or you can continue to make more of your own videos in a way that brings you joy.

If you don’t like her vids don’t watch them, this hobby needs all the help it can get. There is not a lot of interest with younger generations
We need someone like Lisa to spread the word
