So glad your eye is better! Your vac pics are lovely, glad you had a wonderful time. I love Angel Trifle, I add a tiny bit of almond extract to my homemade whipped cream, and also add sliced almonds, delish, light & refreshing! Happy 4th!🎆🎇🧨
One of our favorite summer dinners is Chicken Avocado Sandwiches, perfect for hot days when I don't want to turn on the oven or the stovetop.
2 large cans chicken, avocados - or buy the guacomole in the produce section that's already mashed- I grab the larger one that's about 16 ounces.
Mix your chicken and avocado together. Season as you wish, but I add salt, pepper and garlic powder. (Your tajin in your margarita inspires me to try that the next time I make these). Sometimes I add a few tablespoons of mayo, especially if it looks a little dry. Serve on croissants with chips and fruit on the side.

Ooooo I love my Hawaiian Macaroni Salad!! It's also made with orzo. You use the juice from cans of mandarins, pineapple, egg and sugar to make a sauce. Then toss the cooled orzo with the fruit, plus green grapes and marichino cherries and a tub of cool whip - SO YUMMY!!
Glad you had a nice vacation and got some stitchy time in. Love your sampler done in the pastel palette- gorgeous! Your Plum Street is beautiful too. We like adding jalapeños to our margaritas too but I never thought to add Tajin - but now I’m gonna!😊
My go-to is Potato Salad. I learned from my mother-in-law and her mother, and everyone raves over it. Glad to have found your channel, enjoy your videos!
I really enjoy your floss tubes and we stitch a lot of the same charts. Love your Color and Cotton conversions. I am really lucky that I am about 15 minutes from the shop. We love individual fruit pizzas. I make sugar cookies or buy them if low on time. Cream cheese, powdered sugar, cool whip and extract for base. Then I add any types of fruit on top. Everyone likes them.
So glad y’all enjoyed your trip to FL. I went to college in Pensacola and loved it. We live in south Ga and spend a lot of time in Panama City beach. I love the gulf coast. They are truly the world’s most beautiful beaches. I didn’t know about the stitching store in p’cola, so I will be visiting there soon. Love all your stitching. I make Easy Summer Pasta salad for all our summer gatherings. It has cooked tri-color cork screw pasta,chopped cucumber, sliced cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots and Italian dressing. I make it in the morning and let it marinate all day. Glad you had a fun vacation.

Great video Holly! My go to recipe is my mom’s potato salad made to include peas and carrots. It’s delish and always a hit at gatherings. Glad you had a great vacation and once again your choice of floss is amazing! Happy 4th of July! ♥️🤍💙
Another fabulous flosstube. I’m usually requested to bring potato salad and Rhubarb Crunch when going to a potluck or a picnic.
Grilled vegetables! We brush thin slices of eggplant and trimmed asparagus stalks with oil and crushed black pepper - no salt because we are on a low sodium and weight loss journey. Place on grill for a few minutes before turning to soften and get light grill marks. Any leftovers go in the refrigerator and make for a healthy snack the next day or two. Adding a little bitty sprinkle of Tajin might be good, too. I'll have to try some Tajin in a margarita next time.

How fun that you and Hobbies of Holly - Holly - are doing a SAL! Thanks for sharing all your goodies. My favorite summer time recipes to cook are a Jell-o poke cake for a dessert because it is light and airy and not heavy -- very refreshing and simple and you can use any flavor of Jell-O and also top it with fruit once the Cool-Whip is applied as the frosting. I have met not a single party go-er who did not love it. I often times cook jalapeno popper pasta salad and crazy corn dip (which is very similar to your Frito dip). These are always crowd pleasers as well. Happy 4th and happy stitching!

My favorite 4th dish to take to cookouts is a cherry delight. Instead of using canned pie filling, I like to use blueberries and sliced strawberries to make a flag design on top. So good!
Every year on the 4th I make a layered dessert using nilla wafers or pound cake, vanilla pudding, cool whip, strawberries and blueberries. It’s red white and blue!
I love your glasses! So glad you had a wonderful time on vacation. I love to make Calico beans for a summer BBQ. Tangy but sweet and they pair nicely with burgers and dogs.
Your vacation looked lovely! Anything by water, especially the ocean, is SO relaxing! I love to take Cowboy Caviar paired with tostido scoops (doesn’t that sound fancy?🤣). I LOVE your color changes/suggestions, you have a gift💖✨

❤. Your summer sides sound yummy! The summer salad I love making and eating is a tomato cucumber salad. I usually add in garbanzo beans, sweet red onion and feta cheese. When my basil is ready I usually chop that up and that in as well. I used my favorite Italian dressing (Olive Garden). Let sit for an hour is. Yum! I’d love to hear your take on the Bohin needles. Right now I’m a huge fan on the Pony black needles! Have a wonderful holiday 🇺🇸

I love making homemade coleslaw dressing for coleslaw mix, super easy and yummy and cool for summer 😃
That summer floss palette is gorgeous. Would love to know all the colors that you have there. My go to snack to make for BBQs is either Buffalo Chicken dip or Jalapeño poppers. Both are favorites. I love a good Orzo salad too.

Always fun to see what you are up to! A favorite in our family has always been referred to as "green stuff" (but I think most refer to it as "ambrosia"). It is whipped cream, pistachio pudding mix, a can of pineapple, and marshmellows. Happy Fourth!

I love Stacy Nash's borders.. and I've fallen in love with Maggie Mae; I think Miss Hazel may have to come along to keep her company :).
I'm not really a needle snob, either - I stitched with DMC needles for ages until something changed and their eyes just weren't clean or easy to thread anymore. I do buy Bohin needles when I find them on sale and have ordered a pack of Piecemakers to try. I found a nice circular pack of assorted sizes (22 - 28) made by Singer in either Hobby Lobby or Joann's. They're nice needles with a colored eye, and it's nice to have the assortment in my travel bag. 🪡👠

I'm new to your flosstube and enjoyed it very much. I live in Pensacola and visit Creative Stitchery quite often. Sorry i missed your visit there. I think potato or macaroni salad would be great to take to the cookout.
Really enjoy your flosstube, I really want to find a copy of the “schoolgirls work”, for summer cooking I love grilled vegetables (eggplant and zucchini) and also grilled pineapple and peaches.
I stitched Rejoice Evermore then stitched Evry Opening Flower and I have them hung together in my bedroom with Evry Opening Flower above Rejoice Evermore. It makes me happy every time I look at it. I am in the process of stitching American Welcome so clearly we like the same things. :) My favorite summer recipe is called Different Slaw. You need to make it for a crowd because it is not good left over. It is cabbage, toasted ramen noodles, sunflower seeds and green onions. Mix together and make an oil/vinegar dressing and add flavor packet from chicken ramen noodles. It is so good and crunchy. A friend in Louisville Ky gave this recipe to me 30 something years ago and I still make it.
My mom makes that! We call it Ramen Salad! It’s so good!

Congrats on finishing American Welcome. I’m about 1/3 of the way on mine. I usually bring deviled eggs, so I have something low carb to eat. My Son in Law and Grandson love them, so we eat them before they get too warm on a sunny day. I’m from So Cal. Glad you had a good vacation.

Hi, I love your color conversions! So glad you enjoyed your vacay- our favorite spot to go is Gulf Shores/Orange Beach. I make kebabs with strawberries,pound cake drizzled in white chocolate, Mexican street corn. I love dough bowl pillows!
You inspire me to keep stitching! I also love blackbird patterns. In summer I like to make a chocolate zuchinni cake. It has a brown sugar and chocolate chip topping. So good!

Pasta salad using Zesty Italian Dressing. You can add corn and ham. Or do peperonis and black olives. I love both Bohl and Peacekeeper needles. Although I would like to find a petite needle to try.
My go to summer dish is typically a broccoli salad and I also love to take a dessert- usually a cherry pie or some kind of lemon blueberry or pineapple no bake cheesecake.

Just a good old Southern girl here and I’m always asked to bring my potato salad just as my Mom made it!
I love a Mediterranean Orzo Salad. I love Greek flavors. Red bell pepper, chick peas, olives, carrots, scallions, lots of lemon juice, olive oil, S & P, and lots of feta. So many more veggies can be added.
I hope your eye continues to heal. My favorite 4th of July recipe is homemade ice cream either vanilla or strawberry.

I almost forgot! During the summer, I love watermelon feta salad. I sometimes add orzo, sometimes just an assortment of lettuce.

I just love your autumn quilt stitching piece. Great job! I made fruit salsa and cinnamon sugar chips to take to my brother's house for the weekend. We're camping there this weekend while we help AI the cattle.
Lemon bars are a fav and we usually do a cold tortellini salad with tomatoes and cheese.

The most requested dish that I take to 4th of July parties is my baked beans. Cans of this, cans of that, homesmoked bacon, green pepper, Adobe sauce, and some spices. Won't get to make them this 4th, but its all ok!

Cowboy caviar! 🤠 Great with chips or even as a topper for hamburgers, tacos, etc. Super easy to make ahead of time. Some recipes call for a bit too much sugar so add to taste.

Favorite dessert for summer is Texas Sheet Cake. So much enjoy your videos. I especially like stitching “smalls”.

I like to make a cake I call summer cake. It’s a white or yellow cake. Take out of oven and pour hot strawberry jello made with half the called for water over it slowly so it will absorb it. Chill and then cover with vanilla pudding and then with cool whip. Serve cold. Yum, so good. This is the first time I’ve watched you. We must live close. I live west of Shawnee and the last three years we did the same vacation you just did. Fun!

Hi! I stitched the Tribute to summer by Stacy Nash, it’s beautiful and I absolutely love it! I used called for fabric and floss and, to me, the called for floss colors aren’t quite the same as the picture, the picture looks brighter than the finished piece , but still very beautiful. I love making homemade sherbet in the ice cream churn. It’s one 2 liter bottle of fruit flavored soda (Flavor of your choice, strawberry and grape, we think are best!) and one can of sweetened condensed milk! Churn it in your ice cream churn until frozen! Delicious! Your finishes are so pretty!
I like to bring either potato salad, or a pasta salad called confetti spaghetti.
