I am so inspired by you - you don't shy away from huge projects or other challenges when you really love them! And you have such a great sense of humor about yourself and your stitching. Just stop saying bad things about yourself, NOT TRUE!! Give yourself a break and just ENJOY!!
Heidi, you crack me up. I love your videos. Always enabling and informative. I'm a box,bag and tin collector also. To the point my family saves bags & boxes to bring to me. It cracks me up when they ask "is this a good one?" 😂 You are going to have rough days (weeks). Its normal. I totally understand. You are in my prayers. Sounds like fun with your sister and your retreats. You will be busy. A good type of busy. Take care. Happy stitching ❤
Thank you for the kind words, Carolyn. ❤️. I love that you have your family trained to be on the lookout!! 🤣 I fully believe it's a genetic thing. My Dad never threw out a "good" box.
Hello from Tennessee! I laughed (roflmao) with you today and teared up like you did with the cardinal stitch pattern. You're just awesome and I'm so grateful I got to stitch with you today. Thank you so very much for your videos. 😊😊😊
Tough luck on your Everflowering Garden!!! I am using the OFE floss and the border is a very brown green, almost too brown in some areas, so don’t despair! Your colors are much more vibrant, especially the orange. I bought an entire yard of fabric to be sure it fit. It’s very pretty, so keep trying. It will be worth it!!
So glad I found your floss tube a few months ago. We like a lot of the same cross stitch projects. Also going to Barefoot Retreat in October (from Burlington NC) at Myrtle Beach so I will hopefully find you there. I lost my dear mom so many years ago and still today I find myself thinking about hugging her and saying hi mom. Always in our hearts. 🥰
Glad you enjoyed it! I spent my day working in the she shed, and I emptied out a few more awesome boxes! One is all decorated up by my much younger self. I'll have to post photos on Instagram. 🤣
Love your WIP parade and yes you enabled me. FYI Barefoot Needlearts carries the full line of Cottage Garden threads. If you are coming down for Oct retreat, if you can wait that long😂. If not at Keepsakes call Barefoot and Memory or Amy will be more than happy to help you pick the colors you need off the wall of goodness. Love Cross Stitch Station💕 40+ years😳 ago Terry is the wonderful person who started me on this obsession. Now live in North Myrtle Beach so the ladies at Barefoot now feed my addiction. Hopefully I will meet you at the shop, as I have been helping there during the retreats🤞. Have a great girls trip👍🪡
Thank you for the heads up about the Cottage Garden threads. I think the world of Memory and Amy! They're just wonderful and I love their shop! I can't wait for the Fall retreat!! Please say hello! I can't wait to meet you!
You really choose beautiful patterns to stitch! I love what you choose and show us! Thanks for taking the time and effort to make and post these videos! I do enjoy them!
Thank you, Gail! I'm glad I could entertain you for a while. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! I'll research davos. I've never heard that term. Learn something new every day! 😊
Hi! I'm new here and I just wanted to talk a little about Kreinik and Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum's Celtic Noel pattern because it was the first time that I realized that I wasn't up to using Kreinik for all of the metallic work. So I looked around for something that could stand in for Kreinik but not drive me up the wall using it. Petite Treasure Braid was my answer and I've used it for a lot of things over the years. It comes in a batch of colors and is so much easier to use than Kreinik. 123 Stitch has it - just look in their threads listing for Rainbow Petite Treasure Braid. Also Crocette a GoGo patterns are available on 123 stitch as well...I just looked and she has 117 patterns listed... Anyway, I just wanted to say Hi !
Thank you, Gayle! I've recently bought a whole bunch of treasure braid for the Chatelaine project. Too bad I hadn't found it all those years ago...if it was even around then. I'll definitely use that for any future fancy ladies! I'm glad crocette a gogo's patterns are on 123 stitch! They are so fun! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Here's what I'd do: I'd take your piece and tear out the middle chandelier thingamajig in the top center border. Someday there will be a sampler pattern where you like the insides of it but hate the border. You can put the new insides into the border you have, which seems pretty to me. Don't tear out that pretty flower stitching either. You can put the mirror image of that in without the center piece that looks like a house. God knows there are small motif patterns galore that could go into what would be your new center. Here's an opportunity to be creative. Necessity is the mother of invention! :D
This was fun - I'm glad Pam and Steph mentioned you! I always love pieces with a bit of sparkle and bling, so I latched right onto your idea of stitching the state that I live in in beads on One Nation. Of course, by the time I actually get it started and such, I'll probably have TWO states to do in beads, but that will be twice as fun, right?? 🪡👠
Thank you! I'm so glad you stopped by! You should absolutely use beads for the One Nation. Life needs more beads!! I subscribed to your channel just now and look forward to watching up with what you're working on! Thanks for watching! 🥰
YES i do want to stitch the chrysanthemum piece ... the colours are glorious! And yes they do need an ort ornament! The ever flowering garden is a forever restarting project! LOL That was a lot of nasty things you said about yourself... don't beat yourself up... it happens to all of us! I would just finish up that section you are stitching and make those lovely flowers into a small finish, and start over on a bigger fabric. The pattern is beautiful and the threads are spectacular, so you just need some stitchy therapy at Keepsakes...they'll fix everything! 🤗 That Lavender and Lace Noel is spectacular... good for you for sticking with it!! Have a wonderful trip... can't wait to hear about it!
Hi from South Carolina. I just got home from Myrtle Beach last week and visited Barefoot Needlearts. Yep, I was feeling cute alright. The whole paycheck! Barefoot is a dangerous place if you're a dedicated cross stitcher. 😂😂 When you get to Keepsakes, have them kit it up for you, fabric and floss. No muss, no fuss. I know how it is when a project just doesn't seem to work. I gave one of mine to my daughter and told her to fix and finish it. I honestly think that the pattern had a vendetta against me.😂😂 Love your videos. You keep me laughing and I always look forward to seeing the next one. Looking forward to meeting you at the Barefoot retreat in October.
Hi Sara! Barefoot is a dangerous shop, too! I can only imagine how many beautiful projects you have waiting in the wings if you dropped a paycheck! Please add me on Instagram so I can see them! Please come find me at the retreat! I'd love to meet you and drool over your projects! I'll definitely be asking for help from the Keepsakes crew. Clearly, I was not meant to make the decisions about Everflowering Garden, so maybe they will break the curse. 😁
I'm laughing so hard at your video, because we may be long lost sisters. I have kitted (and a few small starts) almost everything you showed in your wip parade. I think there were three I didn't have, and two are now in my cart. Also, I can mess my projects up like a champ. I went to the late night room at Stitchcon, took two projects. I realized i had a mistake on the first one. Put it in time out and got out the other one, found I'd stitched all the letters in the wrong spot. Doh!!!! I just found your channel but I'll be watching more now.
Hello my sister from another mister! It's nice to know I'm not the only one to do the obviously dumb thing...and follow thru like a champ! 😆 I'm glad you found me and enjoyed spending time with me. I hope you follow me on IG so I can see your(my) project's progress! Happy stitching..and frogging...and restitching!
I was able to pull my sister over to the dark side, it was tough but I did it😂 You can too! Now my plan is to get her hooked on your videos! Excited about that!😊 you are a beautiful stitcher, I love that we seem to have a lot in common.
I love your videos! We have the same stitchy taste and you make me laugh. I’m on the waitlist for the Barefoot Needlearts retreat. I’m in Myrtle Beach camping for a month every fall so I thought why not? Maybe I’ll get lucky and see you there.
Oh, I hope so!! That would be wonderful! They say they usually have one or 2 that can't make it on the day it starts. So maybe stop by their shop and let them know that you're in town if that happens. I'd love to meet you!
Heidi, bless your heart on the stitching you are starting over. We have all been there at one time or another. Once I had a piece of fabric that was big enough but I started stitching the wrong way on it. :) I love seeing your big girls. I have Jane Hopkins and All Creatures Great and Small going and they are going to take a while. But is It a race I often ask myself when I am tempted to try to stitch faster( and make mistakes). Enjoy the time with your sis! And yes, film the two of you!! As for Keepsakes, prepare to be overwhelmed. I did not know where to look first!
Thank you, Arlene! You're working on some beauties yourself. And thanks for the warning about Keepsakes...I knew I wanted to have several hours to look around. I just hope traffic doesn't minimize my time there!
I've never used a thread bed, but it sounds like it would simplify my life - Yes, please! Your Inspiration looks amazing - You're doing a great job! I've decided to pick my progress out and just do the middle motif... 😂 I've recently started my first Mirabilia, I'm starting to share your "odd" love for beading! I was terrified (my first go with beads), but it's not bad!!! Love your projects as usual, enjoyed the update! PS Lost my mom last year, I'm also stitching When Cardinals are Near!
I'm sorry about your mom. I'm glad there are so many beautiful pieces out there for memorials. Good luck on your Mira! The beads are actually alot of fun. Tedious, but so beautiful! 😁 They lure me in every time!
You were on fire today Heidi! Great WIPs! Funny as ever. Have a great sister trip, and I'm sure one of the LNS you stop at will have the threads you need for Everflowering Garden. I have so many of your WIPs kitted up, just need to find the time to get them started.
Heidi, my 2 cents ... I love your tags! But I don't use a thread bed because, if I don't put a useable thread back on the floss drop, I will forget what the color is.
I completely understand! I figured I could use little sticker labels for the projects with more colors. They would be easy to stick to the felt and remove for future projects. We will see! Thanks for your input!
Hi! I love watching your videos and seeing your WIPs! I live near Keepsakes so I put a reminder on my calendar for the 31st so hopefully I will see you there. I’m not sure about the CGT but they have a huge selection in their thread room.
Great video Sweet Lady! Love your WIPS! Your stitching is beautiful! Your choosing of colors is beautiful, even if you have to start over! Thanks for sharing! Have fun on your trip!
Oh man, Lacy Cottage jumped into my cart. Yeah, take your pc to work on the 19-20 weekend, here’s hoping it’s a ‘q’ shift ( I know better than to say it.). Always enjoy your videos! 🪡🧵☮️🌻
Your WIPs and projects are gorgeous! Please don't beat yourself up so much.... we have all been there. My worst oops was when I was stitching a very intricate design over 1 on 28 count. I loved the pattern and had filled up the area in my Q snap. When I went to move my piece I realized I was stitching in the wrong direction and would run off the edge of my fabric. So it is sitting waiting for me to make something out of what I have, and I will hopefully try again another day!
I'm so sorry. Isn't it just the sickest feeling? And you just have no one to blame but yourself, unfortunately. Oh well! I'll buy a bigger piece and start again!
Oh my God!!!!! We are two peas in a pod 😂 When you started talking about the mystery stitch along of Teresa’s, I was done. I feel exactly the same way about it and had the exact problem with the 36 count. Lost interest in it and have given up. Enjoyed your video so much. Happy stitching 😊
Oh I agree. I just love her designs but that one just isn’t making the cut for me. I think because I got so frustrated with the 36 count. I am like you in that I like color saturation and one thread doesn’t give you that on 36 count but two threads are too crowded.
Your Everflowering Garden is gorgeous with the colors you chose! Interestingly, the stitching of it goes really fast and is really fun! Hang in there!😘 That’s funny that you said the mystery stitch is different from Teresa Kogut’s usual stuff. I thought the same thing about last year’s and didn’t finish it first that very reason. Your Celtic Christmas is just stunning!🤩
Hi Heidi! Love, love, love your projects! ❤ The wheels on my cart may start to squeak from the weight if I let you completely enable me! 😂 I have had numerous projects kick my butt… and sadly some of the worst were smalls (is counting REALLY that tough for cripes sake - I used to run a lab department….🙄🥴)….just keep digging! Looking forward to seeing more of your haul after the 31st! Thanks for another fabulous video! Lori
@@pottymouthstitcher After restitching the same stinkin Blackbird border four times and it was still wrong, I can confidently say “Hello my name is Lori and I drive for Uber”…..🤣
I have finally convinced my daughter to use a fabric calculator. Most online stores have them it's not worth the frustration and anxiety to me. They are very simple to use and no charges for the use.
Thank you, Carol! The sad thing is...I used one!! 🤣 That's the sad part, I even messed that up somehow. Oh well, God knew I wasn't going to like the colors, so he wanted to make sure I started over. 😊
Greetings from the Fraser Valley of British Columbia, Canada. I live east of Vancouver in the country. My grandma taught me cross stitch too. But I didn't really do much until the early 90s. I was a did cross stitch for 20 years. Then I started quilting in 2015, and only stitched sporadically. But I want to get back to old UFOs.
Don't beat yourself up on the wrong size of the fabric. I add two inches to each side and buy the size I need. Except that you need to add 4 inches to each side. It's only taken me two years to figure that out. I'm not a mathlete either. LOL Enjoyed watching you just as I always do.
Just found you on floss tube. I have to suggest another wonderful shop for you while visiting ohio. It is in Galion, Ohio which is in North Central Ohio, it is an awesome store and carries everything! Big Bad Wolfes House of Stitching owned by Amie Wolf
Oh, Heidi!!! Stop putting yourself down!! I’m a RN, I do NOT do the maths! 😂😂 I believe GaRon has some openings for Weekend 1 of Stitching in the Wild Sept 12-15!! Join us!! (I’ll be at Weekend 1!!)… it’s good to see you again!
I would LOVE to go!! 3 retreats in a month might be pushing it, though! They're definitely on my bucket list of retreats, though! I hope you have a marvelous time!
@@pottymouthstitcher I get ya!! I did Stitch West Spring in April, then the following week I went to Maine for Library Stitchers Retreat. The same weekend I’m doing SITW, I’ll be on Zoom for Pacific Northwest Stitch Summit!! Believe me, I get it!!
⛴️😞 sending you love and hugs and a big 🛟 it’s the oddest things that get you. I’ll burst into tears at the most random moments over Mum, but with Dad…. It’s the brass bands that always get me. Mum tried stitch a couple of the L&L ladies for me ( Noel and Summer) but they need to be completely restarted 😢 as her eyesight wasn’t what it was and she also seemed to make up her own rules about how to cross stitch 😥 so sad
Thank you! I wasn't expecting that, for sure. Damn cardinals. 😄 We were both fortunate to have amazing parents. We're lucky to miss them. At least, that's what I try to tell myself. Thank you for the love! ❤️
I saw your cute cat and dog floss drops on the Artsy Housewife floss tube, but am having trouble finding your Etsy listing of these. Can you send a link?
Hello! I've been out of town most of this week, and the shop is in "vacation" mode right now. That's why you can't find the listing's available. I'll turn that off, and you should be able to see everything! Thank you for reaching out!
Loved this. Side question: Was your moms name Peggy? I grew up in Norfolk, VA and you are a dead ringer for my moms best friend Peggy. My mom (Jan), Peggy, and their friend Susan had a sewing circle (Where i learned to sew). If you are related to Peggy, what a coincidence and if you're not, you have a dopple-ganger in Norfolk!
Hello! Thank you for reaching out! My mom was Connie. And I'm originally from a small town in NW Ohio. I moved to Virginia in 1999. I've been told I have twins in various places my whole life. I'm so happy all those others are fortunate enough to look like me! Lucky ladies!! 🤣 I would love to meet Peggy someday. We could have a great time messing with people! 😉

Oh man, Lacy Cottage jumped into my cart. Yeah, take your pc to work on the 19-20 weekend, here’s hoping it’s a ‘q’ shift ( I know better than to say it.). Always enjoy your videos! 🪡🧵☮️🌻
I am definitely thinking about it!! 🤣 Enjoy the Lacey Cottage! Glad I could help!
Ha ha! When you were showing What Remain's I was saying I think you have that one.....then you said it haha. Loved your wip parade and safe travels.
Thank you! You know I cannot resist a Brenda pattern!
Heidi! You make me laugh so hard! Love your stitching. ❤
Thank you for watching! 🥰
I'm so glad you found me then! That piece definitely isn't at the top of my list to work on. Which is so disappointing, bc I love her designs!!
Oh I agree. I just love her designs but that one just isn’t making the cut for me. I think because I got so frustrated with the 36 count. I am like you in that I like color saturation and one thread doesn’t give you that on 36 count but two threads are too crowded.
I wanted to reach through my TV & hug you. Missing your Mama is so difficult. ❤❤❤
Thank you, Glenda. ❤️
Whew! Gorgeous WIPs. Inspiration by Rosewood Manor gets me every time you show it. It is beautiful, but I would sho nuf be saying some ugly words! 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, it would! But think of the creative new phrases you could come up with!😆
@@pottymouthstitcher they would be creative alright! I’ll just keep on enjoying your progress and be so jealous when you get her completed!
Thank you, Sally! You're encouragement is very much appreciated! I can't wait to start it over...again! 😊
Lori
Thank you, Lori! I'm glad I could help you keep the USPS in business! 😆 I think only the Uber talented mess up big AND small projects...just saying. 😊
@@pottymouthstitcher After restitching the same stinkin Blackbird border four times and it was still wrong, I can confidently say “Hello my name is Lori and I drive for Uber”…..🤣
@@lorielle1395 🤣 I totally get it.
Your fabric for Gathering Honey looks like a lugana to me. If I have the choice I pick lugana over linen every time!
Thank you, Angela! I can see why!! I'll definitely be on the look out for more. The ease of Aida, without the blocky look! Heaven!
You absolutely should! They're quietly waiting for you! 😊 Thank you for watching!
I seem to be collecting peacocks right now. I have been eyeing that Chatelaine Peacock Mandala.
Add to cart!!
You poor thing - as much as your nose itched through this video you must have had a houseful of company over the weekend!! The projects are gorgeous!!
Thank you! I thought an itchy nose meant to kiss a fool. Lol. Don't tell Rusty! 😁
Don't beat yourself up on the wrong size of the fabric. I add two inches to each side and buy the size I need. Except that you need to add 4 inches to each side. It's only taken me two years to figure that out. I'm not a mathlete either. LOL Enjoyed watching you just as I always do.
Thank you, Jyl! I've re-started that piece and can't wait to show you how lovely the colors look! It worked out for the best!
I always look at your stitching ,it’s 2 to 11 degrees so I would like some of your heat Melbourne ,Australia
I'd send it if I could! Thanks for spending time with me!
I live in Ferrum, VA. I'm 30ish minutes south of Roanoke.
Hello, neighbor!! You should meet us at Franks next Saturday! Come stitch with us!
@pottymouthstitcher Where is it? We have a Frank's pizza in Rocky Mount.
@@rhondamason3386 Frank's on Brambleton in Roanoke. 11 am! There's usually a dozen or so. Hope to see you there!
@@pottymouthstitcher I'm gonna try too! Thanks!
❤❤❤
🥰🥰🥰
Just found you on floss tube. I have to suggest another wonderful shop for you while visiting ohio. It is in Galion, Ohio which is in North Central Ohio, it is an awesome store and carries everything! Big Bad Wolfes House of Stitching owned by Amie Wolf
Thank you! I've been to the one in the hardware shop. I'll have to put this one on my list!
@@pottymouthstitcher it may be the same one. It is part of the hardware store. I hope you can make it there!
Wow Heidi, you are a bigger stitch nerd than me!! Statistics?? Really?😂😂😂❤
Absolutely!!

Im glad im not the only one that can't count! It must be a medical field issue 😂. I can figure meds and drips but can't count by 2.😂
I think I was abducted by aliens when I bought the fabric. Maybe they sent me the wrong size! That's it. It's their fault, I'm sure of it.
🤣
