    This build order wrecked me twice on automatch today. I wonder how to counter it as Wehrmacht.

      same lost three times in a row to it, my first 1v1 losses (faced the same guy three times in a row in automatch too)

      Jaegers with sniper package seems to do well vs pathfinders

      Play defensive and don't spread out too much. Pathfinders suck at combat but the rate at which they cap the map esp with good smoke use is a nightmare. If you spread out they will also just spread out and split up and screw you by capping around you much faster.
      Fallschirm pioneers easily outshoot the pathfinders. Grenadiers not so much but they do, and you slowly upgrade them to jagers as the game goes on which you give panzershreks. Combination of jagers w/ shreks+P4s should dominate the USF late game.

      To counter this battlegroup just use recon 221 scout car and jager infantry and bonus wirbelwind to support them

      I almost beat this build using DAK by building 250 half track and getting an ass gren call in 250 I bullied his pathfinders all game and win most engagements I dealt with his first fast Sherman with two mauders but he got off a stellar carpet bomb and took out both mauders and like 3 squads of ass grens/engineers
      That was it despite I had him down to 53 vp
      It was impossible to recover
      Since the patch I haven’t been able to win a single 1v1 as German

    Iv been using this build with success. It’s kinda sad not using any rifleman…hoping they make bars cheaper to make that build more viable

      Double bar riflemen + nades is decent but it's for sure way too expensive.
      And having to choose you hq upgrade before unlock bars is really silly.
      30 fuel wasted on early game

      @@tomygun7532 You could (and only) get the infantry support centre and get the upgrade which makes the bar and nade upgrades cheaper but it takes so much time to reach. but thats the only way you can make it affordable

      @@tomygun7532 true, thats why i said it takes so long. You cant do anything until u get some anti half track out. I think if you get the nade upgrade you want to commit to building infantry and not shermans just bc of the investment u need to do

    This is quite similar to pfc01’s build, the only difference is skipping the m3, getting bazooka squads and giving lmgs to airborne instead of bazooka; this does pose a great risk as losing the sniper is pretty much gg. I do enjoy m3 quad but I find myself being run down by 250 jagers against DAK specifically.

      True! Eventho the m3 is great against infantry, i tend to lose it/get countered very quickly and it ends up doing nothing while the mg para's can keep fighting

      Agree, M3 quad is great but for a short moment of time imho, in team games it is very very fragile. Sometimes i do the ambulance instead of it because you need to micro it a lot, and since you have already a lot to micro with scouts and airborne i prefear not to do it..

    I've been using this, except instead of the Sniper, I get a squad of engineers, move them up with the Pathfinders, get to a command point, and start building defenses. Drop paras on the point, one bazooka squad, one mg squad, drop a pair of AT guns, and just lock down that point.

    Maybe I'm doing it wrong but vs Dak with rad 8 / light tanks spam + grenadiers mp40s owns this build. By the time you get your sherman out he will have 2 light tanks even when trying to control the fuel.

    Do you think it’s ever a good thing deal to go with the paradrop MG units? They perhaps if you see early infantry blobs? And than build bazooka squads if light vehicles show up?

      I always go mg to start and immediately drop them on the objective. Capture that and then the nearby supply point and set up. Helps get the early lead and gives you time to build up in my opinion

      Also start wsc. I go mg drop, scout squad send up to capture points leading up to objective, engineer squad (then flamethrower when you can) and zooka squad and then second mg. Usually provides a good start and gives you time

    They must've changed something with the graphics in this most recent patch. The infantry and vehicle models "pop" more than before (more visible compared to the background).

    I thinks, is better to go MG Troops first instead of pathfinder, they can easily take points and defent them early game, then go on paratroopers with bazooka and then on PAKs,... but thats only for team matches

    What’s the general idea if you lose pathfinders in the course of the game? Do I rebuild them up to a certain state of the game?
    Do they act as mainline infantry in this build?

      You will need some because you need capping power at all stages of the game, but in general I'd say you don't need more than two. You can replace them in the late game with fighting positions w/ HMGs, actual HMG squads, AT guns and just sherman spam.
      You could also consider more paratroopers, which at that late stage of your game would become your mainline infantry, certainly you always want 2 of them.

      As long as you still have two alive that’s fine, I would replace with airborne.

    does the sherman get the 76mm if you build it before upgrade? after the upgrade shrmans have (76mm) in thir name but not the ones you build before getting it

      I think the gun is upgraded on all existing Shermans, only their name remains unchanged

    This build is very good vs Wehrmacht but very bad vs Afrikakorps. Infact you can't stop a light vehicle diving your sniper with this build.

      You can get zooks on paras around same time they get light, there's your counter, works for me :)

      Motor bike/250 chasing your sniper in the early game may be an issue but just make sure to be careful with your sniper and take shots when you know it’s safe. Can always get a zook squad for the WCS if really needed but if you can stall till the quad or paratroopers then that would be ideal.

    This game went from one of my most anticipated of the year to I can't stand to play it. I went from roughly a 50 percent win rate to not winning a single game as axis after the patch. Units are too expensive and underperform. I never make it to late game. My infantry is constantly outnumbered by either sections or pathfinders and get wiped. Any light vehicles are useless, they get off like 1 or two shots before having to retreat or be destroyed. The marder has no vision to compensate for its paper thin armor. By the time I get a wirblewind there are already multiple stewarts or shermans on the field. If I manage a PZ 4 it gets destroyed by multiple enemy tanks and AT squads rushing it. I have yet to even be able to call in a TIger. Game is lopsided and not fun to play. Games are over in 20 minutes or less.

      The winrate data post patch on the coh discord says otherwise. Axis is still the more dominant side.

      @Greg Ross sure. 1v1 is pretty close with axis still wining slightly more. 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 axis remain dominant.

      they dropped official support for coh2 after 2 years and dawn of war 3 after like 4 months, the answer is yes

      Riflemen are perfectly fine. They scale much stronger than pathfinder in late game and give access to SSF instead of paratroopers which do a lot more anti infantry dps, albeit for less hp than the paratroopers.

    I think US forces are the weakest faction of the game at the moment. Sherman tanks really suck.

      If you aren't aware you should only buy shermans if you go mechanised company support building and get the improved cannon upgrade (I forget the name). It makes shermans insanely strong, stronger than P4 vs infantry and nearly as good in tank duels.
      Otherwise, if you want to kill enemy mainline battle tanks you go hellcat instead. The sherman bulldozer is like the brumbar, good vs infantry, crap vs tanks.
