We understand we didn't cover everything in this video as X-Wing has such a vast amount of rules and procedures. We covered as much as we could for playing out of the coreset, and we plan to cover more rules and triggers in the future.
Thank You for giving me an update on how to play 2.5 X-Wing. Very well produced and informative. It's ok to read the rules reference but having a core set demo using them is brilliant.
congratulations, an explained video for beginners, I play X-Wing, since 1.0, since COVID we have not been able to meet to play properly, and with the new changes it has already become a bit confusing, especially the scenarios. Even so, your video is highly recommended to learn again, thanks
First, great video. Second, wow AMG seems to understand the need to get casuals back into the game. Bumping was a powerful tool in the tool chest for tournament players, but was frustrating and anti-climatic. Really like the fact that the initiative bid is dead. I like the idea of imperfect information. Seems like AMG is taking the game back to the Jay Little days where it is more about flying and having fun. Makes that Battle of Yavin pack even more intriguing. Must resist the urge to get pulled back in...
Just one person’s observation - Watched this video more to decide whether I should ditch all my E1 fleets, purchase all the upgrades to play 2.0/2.5 or just buy all new 2.0 ships. I have come to the realisation (surprisingly ???) that like Games Workshop seems to be, FFG/AMG appear they are more focused on expanding their profits rather that servicing their target buyers. Just like a major software producer that updates and regularly changes their products seemingly for the sake of doing it / selling more product, rather than substantially making the product any better. I accept that I may be “the odd man out” but I still play x-wing E1 because I find it fun - Isn’t that why most of us play ? To me, it seems that 2.0/2.5 has become far more involved and complicated and less likely to be enjoyable fun, requiring constant reference to rules etc (like the “Bloatware encumbered” Warhammer has sadly become). Maybe its time for a simple set of minimal “skirmish” rules for x-wing (that’s exactly what we have done with E1 for fun “Beer and Pretzels” afternoons). BTW - enjoyed this comprehensive and informative video 👍.
We just recorded a podcast about the changes and decisions of amg. They were dropped this game cause FFG wasn't doing well with the license and they wanted to give it to AMG due to their success with marvel crisis protocol. AMG is trying to steer the game the best way they know how. Trying to do that with an already complete game as xwing was is hard enough with covid. First edition xwing was also in deep trouble so second edition was needed. I understand people's jump to say it's a cash grab but I don't know how a game survives without profit
I agree, I liked 1.0, stopped playing when they kept bringing up new things 2.0, 2.5...im sure 3.0 is just around the corner. Id already spent hundreds, maybe even $1,000 on the game or more. Changing up rules, requiring me to buy more things just to use what id already bought, and not being a fan of the changes or the fact some of my ships couldnt even be used anymore, I dropped the game entirely. Still have my stuff, but never bought the upgrades. I could be wrong but last I knew the Star wing still isnt available for "modern play". The phantom was overly nerfed, it was a glass cannon, they were supposed to be very hard to lock down and kill, but once a shot could be taken on them they rarely survived it to begin with. I know im complaining a lot, but the community around here basically died when all the heavy nerfs and 2.0 came out, then with the new changes its pretty much gone. 1.0 had its problems, but nothing that couldn't be fixed with some rules changes or adjustments.
Hey, kind of late for me but i have a question: In the activation phase ships move depending on iniciative score right? So if there is a tie in the initiative score, the players who moves first is the one who won the dice roll? DId i get it right or I'm just confuse.
so that means that in Engagement phase if there is a tie in INitiative value, first player shoot first. right? Thank you so much for this video !!! @@ReconPaint
@DADOCON Yes. So it is a traded bonus. First players move their ships and may miss out on shooting since an opponent may dodge them by boosting or barrel rolling out of the way. But first players get to shoot first giving them an advantage to do damage first or score a critical hit.

We very much plan to!

I know this was a year old, but this was very helpful, I didn't know about a lot of these rule changes from 1.0.
We are so happy to help.

Excellent video. Appreciated.
Was rusty on the rules
This was really helpful
My Pleasure.

Come and play with us.
Resistance is futile. Oh wait - wrong franchise. ;)

Good work guys, it's telling with the state of the game that my initial assumption was that this video was going to be a joke.
We just streamed a full learn to play match today. We will upload and edit it as soon as we can.

That is correct, but the first player also gets to shoot first during engagement.

Is the sound late
I'm getting a delay
Not for us. There are many levels of quality to watch it, you can try dropping to a lower quality and see if it catches up.
