How about to inspect main components like burner assy, heat exchenger, blower wheel, ignitor, flame rod , while you run discaling solution???
It was my understanding if you turn the remote off first it puts the unit in by-pass and then you will not be flushing the entire coil system.
Bet the wife looks real good and cleans toothbrush every time now ha ha!
OMG I cannot do the same as you do by releasing both hot and cold water valve and let the water out because my tankless water heater is indoor, thx
What about flushing the unit? You need to run a descaling solution or vinegar through the unit for 90 minutes.
Hi mate . I want to help me, was I have the water heater Old with tank water working well with gas pipe come from AGL company. When I install a new one hot water gas but without water tank Rinnai Infinity 2.6 does not work with the gas comes from AGL company I think because of poor gas pressure. When we use gas cylinder the heater water works well , but when we use the gas from the connecting pipes from AGL company do not work.

I don't like tankless...too much maintenance. Also if the power goes out, so does hot water even with gas. Florida has a lot of hard water, and tons of wasps everywhere I have no doubt they would build nests in those water heaters and short it out.

it seems really odd that the water heater is installed outside. I've never seen that before. it must hurt it's lifespan

Around 1999 outdoor-capable tankless heaters began arriving. The Takagi T-K1 comes to mind, which used their stamped aluminum, accessory vent cap which enabled exterior installs. Still, tankless heaters will not tolerate the frigid climes of St Louis Missouri & such, despite any factory's built-in "freeze protection" of this or similar models.
It depends if you live in North Dakota or Texas, for example.
In Arizona I've only seem them installed inside garages.
Wish we can go back to the tank water heater- less trouble.
