      @@ismailakviranl9174 I agree thank you Paul. I have been searching for Hasan’s content online and across the Tabar research institute. I have ordered his book and the other companion books in the series by brother Kamal. He makes understanding these concepts so easy so I have to listen to him first before reading any of the books. Shows exactly why we all need teachers. Please have him come on more on to blogging Theology

    Assalamu alaikum. I've read article by Abdurrahman Mihirig. He states that asharits and nominalist are very close to each other in their ideas. Can anybody explain it?

    • @purekhizi
      @purekhizi Год назад +7

      Like most philosophy enthusiasts today, Mihirig conflates nominalism and anti-realism. These however, are not to be conflated. One refers to a very poor attempt at historiographical categorization that doesn't really refer to any clearly historical phenomenon (see Pasnau, Metaphysical Themes, 83-88), but tries to define 'nominalists' as 'those who do not believe universals qua universals exist outside the mind, and do believe that all reality is particular'. The 'slight' problem with this is that this definition includes Aquinas and Avicenna, who are paradigmatic realists! Anti-realism on the other hand, is the denial that there exists a distinct, objectively knowable world at all. It is very difficult to find a premodern thinker who believes this, and the idea that the Ash'aris were anti-realists is sheer nonsense (for one thing, this would make it impossible for them to claim to be proving the existence of God). So yes, branding the Ash'aris 'nominalists' in either of the two senses, is anachronistic, amateur piffle.

      @@purekhizi I'm considering myself as Ashaary and Mihirig's position little bit confused me. Now I'm reading Spiker's book "The things..." and he writes if I understand it properly that nominalist-Kant-Modern philosophy has one unite lineage. And seeing Asharits in such line was strange. But thank you for your answer. It was helpful.

    At 13:35, Hasan claims that there's little doubt that single most influential person in western academia, after "him" is Kant.
    Is that a grammatical error or is he trying to say Hume? Please clarify.
