Hasan spiker has so much to offer towards islamic education in conversation with modernism and western philosophy in general, wish to to see him more. On a side note I've been recently reading about the fren*h revolution and the connections between islam and Muslims and the aftermath of the Haitian revolution led by Muslim black slaves, i think it would be an interesting history to explore in this channel in the future perhaps regardless keep up the good work and looking forward for your Cambridge talk!

As a Muslim who grew up in a western, non Islamic environment, it is not hard to see that hierarchy as understood and and antagonised by liberal thought, is not the natural and therefore Divine hierarchy of creation, but the man made hierarchy of oppressive institutions both secular and religious, that have nothing of natural, let alone Divine, about them.
We should always be aware of the context in which certain thoughts are developed, in order to understand and criticize them: saying "that is not what hierarchy means" would not help if that is what hierarchy (or any other concept) is understood to mean in a given context.

There is a beautiful couplet by Mirza Bedil on beauty which on the one hand asserts that beauty is objective, and someone may have have been preferentially endowed with it but then moral principle is the true locus of truth.
از حسن فرنگ، اینقدرم شد معلوم
    کاین دوزخیان، بهشت دیگر دارند
(From the beauty of white people one thing is inferred
they are hell bound while paradise is for some others)
Here whiteness is invoked in sense of them not being mumineen (faithful).
the suspension of the idea of beauty and good seems to be as consequence of the idea of toleration.

Paul will not bring someone to propagate ignorant hate against sufism. He discussed the atter already and brought a guest that discussed the issue : we all know that some pseudo sufis are misguided but just because a minority of Sufis are misguided that does not delegitimize sufism as an islamic science. All of our great ulama were sufis including Ibn Taymiyya and Al Ghazali. Only modernist reformist type salafis hate on sufism and want to exclude sufism from islam. That is ignorant and wrong.

Yes there are some who do wrong in sufism . So are some who do wrong in Salafism , shia and sunni and ahmadi etc .
A beautiful concept of sufism misrepresented and misunderstood due to ignorance. Just like enemies of Islam misrepresent Islam and Muslims .
      Sum-mum bonum of sufism is
Love God and love people for the love of God .
Regarding visiting of grave of sufi Sheikhs or leaders : yes they do , nothing wrong with it , there are associated Masjids that prayers are done there . Most do not ask to the dead sheikh , they pray and ask God .
