Girl's Generation is still the standard and will be for a long time to come. On the one hand I wish you hadn't known about to switch ups to see your surprise, but on the other hand if Mrs. Coach hadn't been forewarned, we might have broken her lol!!!
The change up in the song represents a different person. Usually, a song is from one perspective but not this one. This is a conversation/scenario between a group of friends where one girl got a boyfriend and started changing everything about herself. Some of the girls don't like/agree with it cause the girl is being overconfident and changes are going too far. Other of the girls want a boyfriend of their own and wondering when it will be their time. While others who already have a boyfriend are struggling because the boy is not giving her what she wants. He doesn't see her as a girl, just one of the boys. So it's like a sleepover/club activites where the girls are talking/expressing themselves. I think I captured everything.
Mrs. Coach's confused reaction is actually pretty normal when reacting to I Got A Boy. Imagine if this is the very first SNSD MV you check or if no one warns you about the switch up, then that would be a whole lot confusing. It's always fun to see the I Got A Boy reaction. 🤣 Honestly, I also got confused with my first listen, but because the girls have pretty visuals and since a lot of new reactors have been checking it, then It is Now one of my favorite SNSD song. As a non-Korean, this MV is what I originally thought as Kpop (colorful MV and "unique" colored hairs). I Got A Boy is a grower and a very Iconic Kpop song. It won the first ever Video of the Year from the RUclips Music Awards (2013) beating popular artist like Justine Bieber, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga, etc...😎 I think this kind of mix pop is one of SM Entertainment's specialty. Other SM groups such as Red Velvet's Zimzalabim, and Aespa's Next Level have similar vibe. Nowadays, other entertainment company have also adapted their own kind of mix pop.

It shocked the entire industry and single-handedly pushed Kpop into the experimental/genre-mixing phase, that you can hear commonly nowdays. This song was the result of a workshop weekend where different music producers and writers were given 15 minutes to come up with music ideas. this song is a amalgamation of those ideas. When it says "Let's bring it back to 140, it is referring to BPM as well as the timestamp for the part of the song they're going back to. This song is an absolute jam once you're used to it. 2nd Generation Kpop hits different - in part because companies are trying to cater to western markets as well as the fact music styles evolve so quickly in Kpop. IU's new song Holssi (pronounced hol-she and meaning seed/spore) just dropped and it couldn't be any more different to Love Wins All. A real surprise even for regular IU fans.
Gotta say that was a good one! Bubbly, excited, my own interpretation was that of a fresh relationship. I agree with Mrs. Coach, this one was confusing. It's like 4 different songs mashed into one, but I kinda like it. I guess it makes more sense with the lyrics. SM (the agency behind the group) are known for having some of the best vocals in general but also for having weird switch-ups in a lot of the artists songs (you are for instance familiar with Aespas "Next Level"). I guess that was more true a few years back, so I guess it makes sense that some GG-songs would have that as well. Great reaction!
Yeah, "early" aespa is very experimental, especially some of the B-sides. Looking forward to the reaction on "Savage", one of my favorites.@@CoachCastTV
Don't say sorry, to be confused after this is normal. It is a Party and sm like to chance songs. So their isn't anything to understand here. This is one of my favorite songs from them. And as i am very picky in what i like i haven't much girl groups on my list. Mamamoo and VCHA are with them on the top ranks.
Not even surprised by your reactions coz its just have to be like that, im expecting the CONFUSION to be honest ... aint seen a reaction not confused by THEE I GOT A BOY since day one esp the new kpop fans or generation but later on, as time goes by ..they jam it too 😂
I don't know it someone else has stated this below, but their company SM Entertainent uses to compose "experimental" songs for their groups every now and then. This was one of them. Another group which was given *a lot* of experimental sounds in the past was *f(x)* and also some songs for *Red Velvet* but nowadays it's *aespa* , their current bleeding-edge girls team, who get the weirdest sounds.
I utterly comply w/ Ms Coach's view; you are truly a considerate, thoughtful, & beautiful American lady. Your reaction & conduct disclose how well-educated & cultured humans you are. Honestly speaking, I'm afraid that this MV by GG isn't my cup of tea either. Thanks for your reaction, though.,,,(02/17/24)
*I am predicting Mr. Coach’s future GG bias: TAEYEON. I know since he is heavy on vocals, and fell in love with Blackpink’s Rose (same here). But we just wanna warn you hard Sir, that Taeyeon’s vocal is on another level. And when we say another level, we meant ANOTHER LEVEL. She can carry the whole kpop music industry by herself (along with IU). Listen to believe, or we give your money back haha. Please consider reacting to the videos below in order:* *Mr. Coach, here is your GG bias, you’re welcome* 🥰 *1. Taeyeon’s Killing Voice at Dingo* *2. Taeyeon Top 12 Emotional Singing*
this song created the loudest fanchant in kpop history and the only kpop song that win hollywood award in non kpop nomination this song is bigger than you think thats why nmixx copy this concept
I wanted to suggest this one after your reaction to Aespa's Next Level, but I did worry whether the OG change-up song would be too much. Definitely a fun song, and I'm glad some folks brought it to your attention. You might try Nmixx's O.O if you're looking for another chaotic track.
Please react to : 1. EXO K - Mama 2. Red Velvet - Russian Roullete 3. SNSD - Gee 4. Big Bang - If You 5. SNSD ft Super Junior - Seoul Song 6. Super Junior - Mr Simple 7. EXO - Love Me Right
Omg u guys should react or either nobody but you or into the new world by girl’s generation they are both absolute classics and another group that’s like them but a different vibe is AOA miniskirt u should react to it it’s very sexy 😂
If you like change ups, you need to react to NMIXX, they are the only group in kpop that has the change up in music as a concept on their entire songs since their debut. React to their latest song " DASH".. then react to their other title tracks "O.O", "DICE", "SONAR"...
@@CoachCastTV Oh yeah of course. Mr. Coach will definitely enjoy the hell out of NMIXX if he likes change ups that much. If girl's generation did change ups, NMIXX took it to a whole another level.
I've never understood why they don't just say they have a Rooster, maybe it's the number of syllables but it's cool w me if they want to sing about a boy chicken, it's just not very accurate. /S That being said, you should check out 'Catch Me If You Can'.
I think that at the time it came out it was different, and the girls performed their rear ends off,, but, for me, it didn't flow. It was like a friend walking up and saying "I had pot roast for dinner last night and DID YOU SEE THE GAME LAST NIGHT and Ted down the street has a new riding mower and the pot roast was great." I agree with Coach that it seemed like the writers just decided to see how much they could jam into a single song. Not bad at all, and interesting, but not their best.
Bohemian Rhapsody of kpop? Yeah, no. Like 50% of SNSD's songs, I Got A Boy is yet another Korean remake of a western artists song. The original song is called Shiner On U by Katy Tiz. You should listen to the original and you'll hear everything is the same except it's in English and not Korean.
Girl Generation are a legend and just celebrated their comeback in 2022 "15 anniversary", They look amazingly beautiful.

Haven't seen Miss A yet but AOA is awesome. We have another from them coming soon.
Aoa - mini skirt live Queendom. Miss A - Touch, T-ara - Sexy Love, 2ne1 - I'm the Best.... They all are 2nd generation kpop legend! Pls react...
yes miss A.
Can I ask for a reaction to Solo? (TAEYEON i) and (HYO Mystery) thanks for the reaction
GG always try different genres
great theory😂😂
I don't know it someone else has stated this below, but their company SM Entertainent uses to compose "experimental" songs for their groups every now and then. This was one of them.
Another group which was given *a lot* of experimental sounds in the past was *f(x)* and also some songs for *Red Velvet* but nowadays it's *aespa* , their current bleeding-edge girls team, who get the weirdest sounds.
We just did another aespa today and discussed that exact topic.
Please react to Lion Heart next! It’s more of an „older“ sound and vocals are more on focus! 🩷
I love you GG
React to the guide of girls generarion and taeyeon solo songs
❤️🔥
I utterly comply w/ Ms Coach's view; you are truly a considerate, thoughtful, & beautiful American lady. Your reaction & conduct disclose how well-educated & cultured humans you are. Honestly speaking, I'm afraid that this MV by GG isn't my cup of tea either. Thanks for your reaction, though.,,,(02/17/24)
Thank you so much!
Please react to TAEYEON Killing Voice ✨️✨️
Classic booty shaking from SNSD on this one.
Please consider reacting to the videos below in order:*
*Mr. Coach, here is your GG bias, you’re welcome* 🥰
*1. Taeyeon’s Killing Voice at Dingo*
*2. Taeyeon Top 12 Emotional Singing*
😆 Appreciate it!
Wait until they check out "Zimzalabin" by Red Velvet its a 2.0 of this song
this song created the loudest fanchant in kpop history and the only kpop song that win hollywood award in non kpop nomination
this song is bigger than you think
thats why nmixx copy this concept
For has only 2 GG that catch me GG and BP. Gg Has many songs that look like Olds. Lions Heart, for example.
NEXT........ Like Money from Wonder Girls
They’re mothers for NMIXX in terms of genre changing
I wanted to suggest this one after your reaction to Aespa's Next Level, but I did worry whether the OG change-up song would be too much. Definitely a fun song, and I'm glad some folks brought it to your attention. You might try Nmixx's O.O if you're looking for another chaotic track.

Omg u guys should react or either nobody but you or into the new world by girl’s generation they are both absolute classics and another group that’s like them but a different vibe is AOA miniskirt u should react to it it’s very sexy 😂
We have AOA "Confused" on the channel and another from them coming in a couple days. We'll keep "Miniskirt" in mind as we really like AOA.

Thank you so much!
LEGENDS !
If you like change ups, you need to react to NMIXX, they are the only group in kpop that has the change up in music as a concept on their entire songs since their debut. React to their latest song " DASH".. then react to their other title tracks "O.O", "DICE", "SONAR"...
We'll do more of their stuff after reacting to "Love Me Like This", as they were very impressive in that double feature we did recently.
That being said, you should check out 'Catch Me If You Can'.
LOL! And yes, that one you mention has been suggested a few times, so we'll keep that in mind for sure.
May you guys react to yes and remix
I think that at the time it came out it was different, and the girls performed their rear ends off,, but, for me, it didn't flow. It was like a friend walking up and saying "I had pot roast for dinner last night and DID YOU SEE THE GAME LAST NIGHT and Ted down the street has a new riding mower and the pot roast was great." I agree with Coach that it seemed like the writers just decided to see how much they could jam into a single song. Not bad at all, and interesting, but not their best.
We can see why it was compared to Bohemian Rhapsody for the changeups, especially if this was one of the first K-pop songs to do this.

Please reaction on got the beat
Bohemian Rhapsody of kpop? Yeah, no. Like 50% of SNSD's songs, I Got A Boy is yet another Korean remake of a western artists song. The original song is called Shiner On U by Katy Tiz. You should listen to the original and you'll hear everything is the same except it's in English and not Korean.
Hello, nice reaction. Please react to Standing Next to You by Jungkook. Thank You! He is the King of Kpop. If you love kpop you have to know the king!
