Lots to talk about between the song, the MV and your questions. Questions first. Mamamoo has been inactive as a group since returning to Seoul from their world tour in the summer of 2023. They've always said that MMM would continue and imo they'll never officially disband but besides their current concentration on their solo careers it's obviously more difficult to coordinate their schedules since two of the members left RBW. They've been very busy with solo and subunit projects over the last year and a half and if anything moomoos have been spoiled with the amount of new music, live appearances and other activities during that time. Off the top of my head the members have released two full length solo albums, a repackage album, several EPS, a bunch of singles and covers and each member and the subunit Mamamoo+ (Solar & Moonbyul) have gone on Asian or world tours as well as performing at festivals around the world. Moonbyul is currently on her debut solo tour of the United States and I'll see her in NJ and Philadelphia in the next couple of weeks. The girls haven't mentioned any plans for a full group comeback but I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped an xmas song for moomoos next month and released a single or album sometime in the next 6 months. Hip is a combo of a diss track mocking their haters as people who spit in their own faces with a message song that re-defines Hip to mean being yourself and doing your own thing rather than the usual slang meaning of cool or trendy. In the MV each member portrays several women who are unusual in one way or another, the point of course being that everyone deserves respect for their career, lifestyle and fashion choices rather than criticism for being outside the norm. The lyrics were co-written by Hwasa and they refer to several incidents where she was targeted by haters for her choice of what to wear when going to the airport and other fashion controversies. And along the way they slip in a protest about climate change, include drag musicians in Solar's glam band, and the opening set with the slogans on the walls and ceiling pays homage to American conceptual artist Barbara Kruger, whose work focuses on the social construction of identity, gender and sexuality. As usual, there's a method to their madness and they've got something to say while delivering a fun, upbeat song. There are at least a dozen Mamamoo MVs you haven't seen besides the hundreds of terrific album tracks in their discography but I think it's time to explore more of their solo and subunit work. As far as I can tell the only solo or subunit song you've reacted to is Solar's Blues. Here are two suggestions for each: Solar: But I, Spit It Out Moonbyul: Eclipse, Lunatic Wheein: Easy, Goodbye Hwasa: Maria, LMM (Lost My Mind) Mamamoo+: Chico Malo, GGBB It's hard to narrow it down to two and those are just a few of my faves. I'm sure moomoos would recommend other songs for each member. You really can't go wrong whatever you choose to listen to by MMM. 😊
@@CoachCastTV Thanks, glad you liked it. I'm sure Moonbyul is going to kill it just like Wheein on her solo US tour earlier this year and MMM on the My Con tour last year. As you probably know, they're best when they're live. You might want to see whether Moonbyul is coming to a venue near you. 😂
Well said 😊😊😊 Mamamoo really did well this year they spoil as for so much music as solo nor duo i miss them as a group but im happy to see their growth as solo artist.. i hope nxt year 😊🤞 they be able to do ot4 comeback
Moon Byul is touring the States right now! I was lucky enough to see her this past Sunday, and I'm still riding the high. She puts on such a good show and I think you two would really enjoy yourselves.
Okay folks, if you HAVEN'T seen the CoachCastTV reaction to MAMAMOO Killing Voice, go do it now. If you HAVE seen it, go check it out again. We gotta keep MAMAMOO in the top spot on this channel! 😁
This was the song that introduce me to them and I like their attitude, their silks, their rap Can say I'm a fan of them but I admire and respect them, and want to know more of them so if anyone can recommend me videos and stuff from them I'm ready to do the journey 😁
There are a number of veteran groups who mainly do solo work, and occassionally put out group stuff. It seems like BP has become one of them. Mamamoo has always had a bit of a chip on their shoulder because of all the hate they got about their looks and pretty much everything, and, when they got established, they let everyone know how they felt about that. ;)
Hip is literally Mamamoo!!! no other definition needed 😊😊 Its been i while im glad you react to mamamoo again i really miss them.. thanks Aside from kpop I hope you can also react too to ppop (filipino pop music) like bini and sb19 they are now really popular and really good pls react to karera for bini and gento for sb19 they had lots of good songs but i recommend this for starters 😊😊😊 thanks
Got to see them 2 years ago. I don't think they'll come together anytime soon unfortunately. Please check out if you haven't WAW WHERE ARE WE (NOW). Puts it in perspective on this group possibly coming to an end when their contracts were up, but I feel it was meant further down the line.
Another nice one ! Thanks for that reaction 🔥NOT thanking you for making me go check the Killing Voice reaction for the 57th time though haha 🙃 Hwasa released her new album "O" a few months back you definitely watch it (partially or entirely it's all good songs) ! Keep it up Mr. and Mrs. Coach !!
It's for the haters and the constant criticism, especially towards Hwasa. It's like no matter what, they will always try to find something wrong. They, media etc, jist zoom in trying to find something no matter how small, in order to attack. Mamamoo is also saying that, no matter who you are, or what you do, or look like, you are already hip. As long as you're not hurting anyone, live your life and love yourself. There is a video where a reporter asks Hwasa about her not wearing a bra at the airport, you should see the other members reaction. Like someone said, anyone making Wheein lose her smile better run and hide. I've linked it below. Some of the reporters that day sort of trying to twist the message of the song. Moonbyul, though, gave a good explanation of it. I had missed y'alls Mamamoo reactions and hope we get more Can y'all do Exo as well? ruclips.net/user/shortsH6sf_FKCP7w?si=ul9XrJDcDy6UyJ7D
This MV was suppose to show their lives in multiple alternate universe and to show thst women can be anything they want to be. All *MAMAMOO* music is great but one of my favorite is *“UM OH AH YEH”* because it's humorous. *FYI - ROSÉ "NUMBER ONE GIRL"* is coming on Friday *PLUS* she will be performing "APT" and "NUMBER ONE GIRL" at the MAMA Awards Show within the next couple of days so be expecting a video of that performance soon.
Always enjoy your reactions, especially to Mamamoo. Please react to Hwasa's current release STAR. It's a beautiful song that highlights Hwasa's amazing vocals and the production is magnificent. ❤❤🦋❤
Hey coach guess what their is so many new kpop groups out too so its still getting crazy but fun check out meow toxic and triple s girls never die and kiss of life igloo and badvillian zoom and hurricane and rescene pinball and new world for starters

This is a great comment with lots of good info. Pinning it so others can also take note of what you have posted. We hope you enjoy Moonbyul's concert.

That's awesome to hear. We have a feeling she'd definitely put on an enjoyable show.
I 100% agree about MAMAMOO being the vocal standard in k-pop.
Hip is amazing track my first ever mamamoo song in 2022

That's right! We love that it is our #1 video. Moomoos are great!
The best version is the two songs Destiny and Hip as a joint live version. The girls wear AC/DC shirts.
Very cool!
At last we got a mamamoo reaction since for a long time👏
You remind me of my dad, who died 11 years ago, he would’ve enjoy this music with me, thank u ❤
Sorry for your loss.

Hey team ‼️ That was a hip little medley💥 not too shabby on the visuals either. Look forward to your next one
If I remember Hip did well, spending best part of a year in the charts.

Good for them. We love to see people succeed despite the odds against them, like this group had to overcome.
