Before drawing your own conclusions, I recommend watching some of the many Swedish documentaries with other theories. Some of them should be subtitled.

    Palm-e. You're not far off.
This is just one of several theories. Many are equally plausible.
A known South African assassin was in the country at the time and tried to leave shortly after the murder. Sweden was causing alot of trouble for the Apartheid regime at the time.
Pick which ever theory and it is as wild and plausible as the next one

If you really want to go down the rabbit hole there was a mistrusts to Palme from the west and within Swedish military leaders. (not related to the baseball league).
they thought he was too soft towards USSR, one theory is the "stay behind" theory which involves NATO and the west.

Yes, basically pick one. I have mine (a simple one) - but yes - one should just pick one. But this is the versioning of the JFK -assassination thing for us who happen to mixed-marked social-democrats and my memory from being 13y and got the news in the Sunday morning is somewhat the JFK-trauma for me when and others. But one should just pick one actually. [=>he was just hated by a lot of people as in KISS, "keep it simple stupid", but who did it(?) Naw - I don't care - but I'm not into over-engineering the explanations. But guessing, Simple hate crime from some "noob", maybe some "noobs" of a small group. But lettuce pea on to advance theories is my opinion.]
      Слава Україні!
(I'm so behind watching this guys material and haven't even watched this yet - but I do love the pick of subject)

"the baseball team" Was an interesting group of police that used civilian clothing and baseball hats instead of regular police clothing and they drove around and beat up criminals in Stockholm. Most of the people they came across were really unlucky falling down stairs, tripped, accidentally hit their head and so on causing them broken bones broken ribbs, bruces and all kinds of wounds.
They were strong right-wing people and did not like Olof Palme.
They even made a movie based on them called: "i lagens namn ("in the name of the law")" Trailer: ruclips.net/video/KSi3rXhvCT4/видео.html

Oh so they were normally in regular street clothes when they were on the job, that’s interesting. Why were they specifically way right wing? Was it something about the recruiting or what?

@@rayceofhistory I don't have the full story but I think it was just that time period. Olof Palme where a politician more to the left and was popular at that time and I think the far right grew stronger in response to the left. It was a polarised time. Guessing it was a bit like how it is with Trump in the US now, either you like him or hate him and some people will be more extreme.

5:02 Both yes and no when it comes to politicians , but as far as i know the prime minister always has security people around him/her today .
But the police is a bit irritated that Palme put in as a norm to go out (not every time) with out security ppl so politician of today do it as a statement not to have them (not every time) .
Even after Olof Palme , Anna Lind got killed plus a planned murder of Annie Lööf .

The police lead (polisspåret) is on of many theories (I counted 12) that have been investigated by the Palme investigation team (Palmeutredningen) over the years. Wether the individual events or claims of the police lead are true can be difficult to know since many are based on witness reports from 35 years ago. Many people have since died and cannot be interviewed again. My point is that the team investigated all these reports but did not find them viable. There were some criticism about that from different people but nothing came of it.
The investigation was recently (2020) closed permanently with the conclusion that the most likely suspect was Stig Engström - Skandiamannen. But since he died in 2000 they could not move forward with the investigation so it was instead closed.

There is so much to say about this. But just a quick comment. The bassballguys, it was not to work with petty theft, I don’t know why they did say that. They had four (if I remeber correctly) teams to deal with increasing violence in Stockholm. They later became the Stockholm Piket (equivalent to a swat team).
